Most people and places spell Hiroshi's dub name 'Richie'. However, Bulbapedia spells it 'Ritchie'. Which is correct? The DVD case for "Pokémon Chronicles Volume Two" spells it without a t, but is there an official source with it spelt otherwise?

I always thought it was spelled without a 't,' too. Serebii spells it without the 't.' Pokemon.com spells it without a 't.'

Yeah, before, in Word, "Richie" came up as "Ritchie." It's more common where I'm from to spell it without the 't.' That's what I picked up. Until I found it easier to call him the Japanese name, "Hiroshi."

Pokemon Puzzle League has it spelled with the "t", if I'm not mistaken~

(I, personally, thinks it looks better without it, but eh)

I think it's Richie.

Notice that whenever Ash says the name, you never hear the "t." I think Richie is how it's officially called.

You don't hear the c in Brock or the t in Butch, either. (Really, do you say/hear "Brok-k"/"Brosk" or "But-ch" [where "but" is like book with a t]? I say/hear "Brok" and "Buch" [like book with a ch].)

I feel it's spelled without the t, personally. However, even if it were spelled with it, it wouldn't be pronounced "rit-chee".

I remember a long while ago ("before the Indigo Pokémon League battles started" long ago), there was a series of commercials introducing each of Ash's opponents. They had their names across the bottom of the screen. Unfortunately, I didn't get a good look at Richie's, and even if I had managed to, I wouldn't have remembered.... Did anyone record it and does anyone still have it?

PPL, wonderful Nintendocrack that it is, also calls B&C "Team Rocket 2". So yeah, it's not exactly the best source for reference.

It's always been Ritchie to me. Spelling it without the T just looks bad to me, and I really never notice it spelled without it. Then again, it's highly possible that my mind just glances over it and puts a T there all on it's own. Who knows. I like my T, and I'm betting you'll find it spelled both ways in various official sources.

I also spell it with the T. Richie just looks weird to me, but to each their own.

Doing a quick Google and Answer.com search, it appears to me that:

1. "Ritchie" is a variant of "Richie," not the other way around.
2. "Ritchie" is more of a last name that a first name.
3. There is a name "Ritchard," but that too is pretty much, but not totally, confined to being a last name.

Make of that what you will.

any reference to Richie Rich?

To be honest i've NEVER seen it written as "Ritchie".
