Rika and Poppy are debuting new Variety Sync Pairs with Great Tusk and Iron Treads respectively today in Pokémon Masters EX, alongside the launch of a new Solo Event featuring both characters, Urgent Ask for Rika and Poppy. Also returning today is Rika's debut Story Event Good Ol' Rika Here, as part of the ongoing Paldea Fest Rally.

Solo Event: Urgent Ask for Rika and Poppy
This new not-so-Solo Event will be running through to May 17th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

This event follows the simplified format for Events, where players will collect Event Points as they complete battles, earning rewards based on the total amount of event points acquired instead of trading for specific desired rewards. Players will need to collect a total of 10,000 Event Points for this event in order to receive all possible rewards. Featured event rewards include 5★ Scout Tickets, Skill Items, Tech and Sprint Move Candy Coins, 5★ Power-Ups, and Event Medals. Other rewards able to be obtained include a 5★ Power-Up Ticket, and custom Sync Orbs for Rika & Great Tusk and Poppy & Iron Treads.

As usual for events of this type, players will receive bonus rewards if they take on event battles using teams that feature specific sync pairs. The more of these sync pairs that players place in their lineup, the greater the bonus received. The applicable Sync Pairs and reward rates are as follows:
These bonuses stack additively, so having a team consisting of Rika & Great Tusk, Poppy & Iron Treads, and Geeta & Glimmora would grant a combined +160% (×2.6) rewards.

Please note that unlike many past Solo Events, there will be no stat bonuses when completing event battles for Sync Pairs with the featured Theme Skill.

Players should also note the following when playing this event:
  • The number of plays available for Daily Extreme Battle 1 are reset every day at 11:00pm (PDT).
  • To participate, players must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player.
  • The sync pairs that appear as opponents in battle have different capabilities than those players can actually obtain.
  • All mission completion rewards must be claimed within three days of the mission period ending.
  • All Event Points collected during this event will be automatically deleted once the event is over.
Story Event: Good Ol' Rika Here

This returning Story Event will be available as part of the ongoing Paldea Fest Rally through until May 10th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

As with other Story Events returning with this Rally, this returning event includes only the stories from these events, rather than the full story event with battle stages, missions, etc.

Variety Scouts

The Double Feature Variety Scout and Variety Tiered Scout will run through to May 17th, at 10:59pm (PDT), while the associated Variety Guarenteed Ticket Scout will continue until May 24th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

5★ Rika & Great Tusk and 5★ Poppy & Iron Treads are each being released with an expanded sync grid, the ability to be raised to 6★ EX, and the ability to unlock a EX Role when raised to 6★ EX. As usual for Variety Pairs, these new Sync Pairs do not have EX Styles when raised to 6★ EX, nor their own individual sync pair stories (unless you count the story content from the new Urgent Ask for Rika and Poppy Solo Event).

As normal for Variety Scouts, 5★ sync pairs have a 7% chance of appearing in these scouts.

The Double Feature Variety Scout includes a daily discount, where players can perform a single scout for ×100 paid gems. This daily discount can be used once per day during the entire length of the scout. The first three times players perform a Sync Pair Scout ×11 for this scout, they will also receive the following bonus presents:
  • 1st-3rd Scouts: Move Candy Coin ×1
The Variety Tiered Scout has five tiers, each of which is a Sync Pair Scout ×11. Players are able to scout once on each tier by using Paid Gems, with the amount of gems increasing with each tier. Additionally, Tiers 5 grants the player an additional in-game reward.
  • Tier 1: 1,000 Paid Gems
  • Tier 2: 1,500 Paid Gems
  • Tier 3: 2,000 Paid Gems
  • Tier 4: 2,500 Paid Gems
  • Tier 5: 3,000 Paid Gems - Variety Guaranteed Scout Ticket
The Variety Guaranteed Scout Ticket, as the name suggests, can be used in the Variety Featured Ticket Scout to randomly team up with either 5★ Rika & Great Tusk, or 5★ Poppy & Iron Treads
