NASA - Hinode Mission to Capture Annular Solar Eclipse This Weekend

http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/OH/OH2012.html#SE2012May20A

Sunday, there will be a solar eclipse, of the "Annular" variety, that will be visible for most of the Western United States. Solar eclipses are an awesome phenomenon, and one should feel lucky to view one. Where I am it will be partial, though an 80-90% partial as I am literally fifty miles outside of the eclipse area. Still, that's going to be quite a sight to see with a crescent sun in the sky.

I must know the exact time it'll happen because I'll be going to San Diego Sunday, which means I still have a chance to see the eclipse.

In North America, the eclipse will occur late in the day, so it’s important to observe from a site with a good western horizon.

The article also mentioned something about them lasting a while, so it's not like it's a 'blink and you'll miss it' thing.

My older brother lives in California, so he's gonna be lucky tomorrow. T^T

On the east coast so I sadly missed it :/ Hoping to be stationed here again for the big solar eclipse in 2017 though, where I am is directly in the area where the eclipse will be visible.
