Riolu Evolution

What is the easiest way of getting Riolu to evolve into Lucario without taking forever with the friendship process, do items like carbos and protein enhance the evolution process?
 
I don't really know.I think so,because I gave a bunch to my Riolu at lv. 1 and it evolved at lv.12.
 
Just bike around a whole bunch. 1 happiness point per 256 steps.

- Trip
 
-EV reducing berries raise Hapiness.

-Using items raise Happiness(Protein, Iron...).

-Massager at Veilstone city Raises Hapiness.

-Massager at the Ribbon Syndicate(after E4) raises happiness.

-Carrying them around in your Party raises Happiness
 
Always have them hold the Soothe Bell, that's what I did for my own riolu. I leveled him from 1 to 11 early on, then spent 3 or 4 days running around with him in my party while I did other things, making sure to get him massaged each day, and finally tried leveling him up to see if he was good enough yet, and sure enough he was. It takes about 87% happiness for a happiness evolution, I believe.
 
Stat bootsters are costly. A cominbation of :

SOOTHE BELL ATTACHED
the stat reducing berries
walking around with it
two massages a day


Will have it evolve in no time
