As previewed in the recent monthly update from the game's developers, Ethan debuts his Neo Champion sync pair with Raikou today in Pokémon Masters EX in a new EX Master Fair Scout. Alongside this scout, Ethan and Lyra are taking center stage in the brand new Neo Champions event, Rising Thunder and Flames.
Ethan EX Master Fair
Ethan debuts his new EX Master Sync Pair with Raikou in this limited-time EX Master Fair Scout available in-game now, and running through to July 5th, at 10:59pm (PDT).
Ethan (Champion) & Raikou are an Electric-Type Support Role Sync Pair. This EX Master Fair-Exclusive Sync Pair make their debut with the ability to be raised to 6★ EX, and the ability to unlock a Field EX Role when raised to 6★ EX. Raising the pair to 6★ EX also unlocks a new design for Ethan, swapping out the white and black in their outfit's palette.
EX Master Scouts operate similar to Master Fairs, with an offering rate of 1% for the featured EX Master Sync Pair, 2% for additional featured 5★ Fair-Exclusive Sync Pairs, and 12% for other 5★ Sync Pairs, which may include other Fair-Exclusive Sync Pairs. Like with normal Master Fair Scouts, EX Master Fair Scouts require 400 scout points before players are able to get a free selection of any one Sync Pair available in the Scout. The two Fair-Exclusive Sync Pairs who will join Ethan (Champion) & Raikou in this scout are Sygna Suit Elesa (Alt.) & Thundurus, and Sygna Suit Piers & Toxtricity.
The Ethan EX Master Fair includes a daily discount, where players can perform a single scout for ×100 paid gems. This daily discount can be used 1 time per day during the entire length of the scout. The first twelve times players perform a Sync Pair Scout ×11 for this scout, they will also receive the following bonus presents:
Ethan (Champion) & Raikou are the first sync pair to receive a move able to apply the new Endure and Restore effect, with their Max Revive Trainer Move applying it to any one ally. As seems almost traditional for Master Electric-Type Support Role Pairs at this point, they also possess some truly broken Passive Skills, able to apply Johto Circle (Physical) and (Special) to the field of play when they enter a battle, and the first time they use their Sync Move each battle. They also raise the Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk, and Sp. Def by all allies by two stat ranks whenever they successfully attack an opponent. To top it off, their Reigning Thunder Fang Buddy Move (activated after a circle is applied to the allied field of play) requires 0 move gauge, never misses, has a high base power, lowers the target's Defense by two stat ranks, leaves the target paralyzed, and has a chance (50%) of making the target flinch.
Ethan (Champion) Gem Emote
A special Gems with Gym Emotes offer is available from the in-game shop alongside the Ethan EX Master Scout, allowing players to obtain a Ethan (Champion) Gym Emote as a present. This offer, which comes with 250 paid gems, can be purchased under the With Emotes tab in the Purchase Gems menu of the in-game shop until July 5th at 10:59pm (PDT).
EX Master Fair Gem Special
In conjunction with this latest EX Master Fair, the following four Gem Specials will be available in the purchase gems tab of the in-game shop until June 19th, at 10:59pm (PDT), offering discounted prices on paid gems. Check in game to find the prices for your region.
Neo Champions: Rising Thunder and Flames
This new event sees Ethan and Lyra taking the challenge of the latest Neo Champion competition, with the theme of "limitless energy", after learning of Entei having been spotted on Pasio. This event is available in-game now, and will continue until July 5th, at 10:59pm (PDT).
This event follows the simplified format for Story Events, where players will collect Event Points as they complete battles, earning rewards based on the total amount of event points acquired instead of trading for specific desired rewards. Event rewards include 5★ Scout Tickets, Skill Items, a Field Move Candy Coin, an Ever Pin, and Event Medals. Other rewards able to be obtained include Special Skill Feathers 127 and 128, Custom Sync Orbs for Ethan (Champion) & Raikou and Lyra (Champion) & Entei, and Lucky Cookies for Ethan (Champion) & Raikou, Lyra (Champion) & Entei, and Sygna Suit Kris & Suicune. Players will need to collect a total of 10,000 Event Points for this event in order to receive all possible rewards.
As usual for events of this type, players will receive bonus rewards if they take on event battles using teams that feature specific sync pairs. The more of these sync pairs that players place in their lineup, the greater the bonus received. The applicable Sync Pairs and reward rates are as follows:

Players will face off in battles against Silver in this new Extreme Battle Event. Sync Pairs in player's teams with the Johto Theme Skill will receive a base ×5 boost to their Attack, Defense, Sp. Atk., and Sp. Def., with this strength bonus increasing with difficulty level.
Players must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier to participate in this event.

Players should also note the following when playing this event:
- The number of plays available for Daily Extreme Battle 1 are reset every day at 11:00pm (PDT).
- To participate, players must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player.
- The sync pairs that appear as opponents in battle have different capabilities than those players can actually obtain.
- All mission completion rewards must be claimed within three days of the mission period ending.
- All Event Points collected during this event will be automatically deleted once the event is over.
