This isn't a real team yet, but I'm still trying to build my first team for single battles.
Tell me what you think! =)

DONPHAN-Careful
Ability:Sturdy
Item:Leftovers
1.Rapid Spin
2.Earthquake
3.Ice Shard
4.Stealth Rock
EVs:252ATK/126DEF/126SP.DEF
I won't be using Special attack with this Donphan, so I chose a Careful nature for it.
It needs as much attack as possible so that it can still be able to fend for itself while still being able to put up Stealth Rock.
It also gets rid of traps set off by my opponent with Rapid Spin.
Earthquake is a strong physical attack that utilizes Donphan's attack.
The same applies to Ice Shard, a move that usually gets priority and can take Grass types out for Donphan.

Dragonite-Adamant
Ability: Inner Focus
Item:Lum Berry
1.Earthquake
2.Fire Punch
3.Drangon Dance
4.Outrage
EVs:252ATK/252DEF/4SP.DEF
Dragonite can take out Steel types with Earthquake and Fire punch, and boost its offensive power with Dragon Dance.
The Lum Berry's purpose is to snap itself out of confusion after using outrage.
The moveset it pretty self-explanatory in my opinion.

Umbreon-Sassy
Ability:Synchronize
Item:Leftovers
1.Curse
2Toxic
3Baton Pass
4.Payback
EVs:252HP/252ATK/4SP.DEF
Umbreon has no need for speed, as Payback will be it's only offensive move and requires it to take some damage to inflict more.
Toxic is to badly poison the opponent's pokemon.
Curse will do nicely to pass on to another pokemon who might need the stat changes.

Electrivire-Adamant
Ability:Motor Drive
Item:Expert Belt
1.Thunderpunch
2.Ice Punch
3.Cross Chop
4.Earthquake
EVs:4HP/252ATK/252SPD
Electrivire can take hits for Gyarados or Empoleon for a Speed boost.
It's nice attack stat will help sweep most pokemon except someone carrying Earthquake, which is when I can switch to Gyarados, which it won't affect at all.

Gyarados-Adamant
1.Dragon Dance
2.Waterfall
3.Earthquake
4.Ice Fang
EVs:4HP/252ATK/252SPD
Hopefully it can take out potentially threatening Electric attacks.
Dragon Dance will allow for more powerful hits, and get a STAB from Waterfall.

Empoleon-Calm
Ability:Torrent
Item:Leftovers
1.Aqua Ring
2.Surf
3.Grass Knot
4.Ice Beam
4HP/252SP.ATK/252SP.DEF
Aqua Ring will allow for recovering, along with Leftovers.
STAB from Surf will deal serious damage.
The same goes with Ice Beam and Grass Knot.

Aqua Ring isn't worth it on Empoleon. Add Agility instead, since you're not investing in any Speed EVs.

What item does Gyarados have?

also, A CM offensive suicune can pretty much rip this team apart. If Electivire is taken care, of, the rest of the team dies to Offensive CMCune.
You said Gyarados takes Electric attacks? I didn't really get that. 94% - 110.8% is what's done by HP Electric from Offensive CM Cune.

if you are going to run agility, run max speed since, its not fast enough without speed and will get outrun by base 115's like jolteon, and any scarfer.

donphan is a bad lead, since it is easily taunted, so try it outside of the lead spot. That or run this:

Donphan @ life orb/ lum berry
adamant
80HP/252att/172 speed
-Earthquake
-seed bomb
-ice shard
-Stealth rock

172 speed beats metagross, and ice shard picks off sashes. Seed bomb for swampert. Lum beats roserade while LO lets you KO metagross. your choice. No rapid spin since it really has no use. If you want a rapid spin anti lead use starmie.

I was hoping to put a Focus Sash on Gyarados. Earthquake hopefully would kill Electric pokemon, but I'm still working on that.

EDIT:coolking503-ooh ok then, thanks for the tip, that sounds more promising than my idea.

I would put Wish on Umberon instead of Toxic that way it will last longer. I have no idea what the purpose of Empoleon is on the team at all..you might as well run the Sub Petaya. And what Coolking said would improve the team also.

@Insomaniac-I was having second thoughts about that, but now I think I might change it to that.

Sash on Gyarados? Unless it's your Lead and you don't have Spin support (assuming you go with the suggested Donphan Set), then Gyarados isn't going to use the Sash too much. You could Go BulkyDDGyara with Leftovers or just all out Offensive DDGyara with Life Orb, or somewhere in the middle. But like I said, without Spin support, Gyarados is going to have trouble with the heavy-on-switching-and-pHazing metagame.

You could try Rest Talk Gyarados which is very bulky and can take decent hits. Also I've seen roughly 20 or so Lum Berry Gyarados in the last 2 days so you could try that out. But I have to agree strongly with VanillaThunderbolt, without a Spinner Dnite and Gyarados will be much harder to bring in.

Would a Dragonite be able to pull off Spinning moves?
Doesn't that mean I would have to make it support instead of offense?

No Dragonite can't learn Rapid Spin. A way to prevent your opponent from setting up SR is to have a fast Pokemon with Taunt like Azelf, Aerodactyl, Crobat and Gliscor.

Well Aerodactyl seems like the better choice because it can avoid common ground attacks like Earthquake and Mud Shot(curse the speed cut)
actually most of the choices can, but it can still pretty much deal some damage unlike crobat lol

ACtuallt, the problem with aero is it IS frailer than crobat. Most leads are tailored to stop it and azelf from setting up SR. See stuff like infernape and weavile. However crobat isnt used enough for people to counter it, and it can taunt aero first, and can u tutn out. It also is more bulky and 4x resists fighting, making it the best breloom counter if it doesnt carry Stone edge (which Dnite does too but Crobat carries LUm berry, so it doesnt worry about spore like Dnite does)

My issue with Crobat is that it truthfully doesn't accomplish anything as a lead, unlike Aero and it's not necessarily an anti-lead. Sure, it still has that fast Taunt, but it's a less efficient Taunt because it can't take advantage of it as much as the other leads. Kimmy is correct in that respect, really....the others can actually do something to enemy leads while Crobat can't.

so if I can replace dragonite with an aerodactyl, would it seem like a reasonable choice?

that sounds good, and make it the lead. Just stick to the smogon sets. Also, if you could edit the changes into the first post that would make life alot easier

hmm the thing is I haven't decided on any changes yet
so as soon as I have made my changes i'll be sure to update the post :)

I don't think anyone mentioned it, but your strategy with Electivire and Gyarados sounds a little backwards hahaha. Most people usually have Gyarados lure in Thunderbolts so that Electivire can get the Motor Drive boost and attempt a Sweep. Just something to keep in mind.

@VanillaTunderbolt-
since most Earthquake users get STAB, it means theyre part ground, making it easier for Gyarados to defeat them too :p
As for Electrivire's motor drive, getting them to use thunderbolt on Gyarados is something I completely forgot to add in there.
Thanks for reminding me though xP
