A new cult calling itself the Cult of Tyrania has arisen in the city of San Francisco, California, under the leadership of their high-priest, whom they simply call 'Tyra.' Under Tyra's leadership, the cult has reportedly performed several human-sacrifices in attempts to resurrect the ancient deity 'Empress Tyrania.' It will be up to the superhero The Illusion to bring these sacrifices to an end and prevent the cult's completion of the ancient ritual.

John Drakkio, also known as The Illusion, stood on the shore of a beach near San Francisco, the waves lapping gently against his feet.

John was currently in disguise, having taken on the appearance of a hefty thirty-year-old man in a swimsuit. Thus, he remained inconspicuous to passerby as he surveyed the scene.

A usually-reliable source had told John that the Cult of Tyrannia had been seen on the beach assaulting civilians. However, the beach looked as innocent as ever, the waves beautiful yet powerful and a surfer or two riding some larger tides off in the distance. Sighing, John turned and strode in the direction of the street, changing his appearance to that of a balding man in a suit as he passed through an empty alley.

Tyra watched the beach, quietly survaying the area. She was looking for new victims, but she HATED the beach, mainly because she was a horrible swimmer. Of all the things the eternally vain and terrible prehistoric tyrant was, a good swimmer was not one. She slowly started back towards the the town and happened upon an elderly balding man walking down an empty ally. "Yuck, I hate the bald...but still, I think this is just perfect," she said, a pair of bat-like wings emerging from her back before she took off, flapping over and landing on a fire escape ahead of her intended victim. She couldn't show her hybrid self in full view just yet, but little bits of it convinced the cult that their head priestest was indeed chosen to be the vessal of their god.

"Why hello there," said Tyra, looking down at the man. "Sorry to interupt but I'm afraid you're about to become a human sacrifice," she said, snapping her fingers as a large number of black suited men, wearing hoods over their heads, resembling druids, emerged from the darkness. "Take him away boys!" she called, smiling. "So says Tyra, your beautiful chief priestess!" she said, with a flurish. "Oh, and the girls too, you can bound and gag him, don't worry."

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: A New Tyranny (Godzillawolf & -Gray-)

"Tyra, eh?" John said under his breath. "Wow, we're going to wrap this up earlier than I thought."

John sprang into the air and came down like a comet, black shadows that were neither gas nor liquid trailing behind him. As he hit the ground, the shadows formed into a more solid shape and rolled like waves towards the hooded men, growing larger as they went. As the shadows spread from his body, John's true form was revealed. His armor formed around him, and a sword made of illusion turned solid appeared in his left hand.

"Let's fight, then. I look forward to seeing you speared through my blade."

"Oh bother," said Tyra, watching the cultsmen get back to her feet. "Who'd have thought a super would come to try and ruin my plans," she said with a sigh. "Oh well, I'm sure Tyrania would love to have a superhero sacrificed to her," she stated, giving a chuckle. "Boys, take him down," she said, smirking as the cultsmen tried to attack Illusion.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: A New Tyranny (Godzillawolf & -Gray-)

John jumped into the air, shooting a ball of darkness at the nearest man and pulling himself onto the fire escape Tyra stood on. He charged, claked in shadowy fire, and attempted to tackle Tyra off the fire escape.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: A New Tyranny (Godzillawolf & -Gray-)

Tyra smirked, her wings emerging as she flew back, dodging his attack and hovering in the air about it. "I am Tyra, chief priest of the Cult of Tyrania. I have been chosen by Tyrania to help in her resurrection, as such, I've been granted a few abilities," she said, smirking sadistically. "Such as this!" she said, flying back and landing over a statue of a lion outside of a liberary. She charged black energy into her palm and planted it on the statue's head. "Arise!" she commanded, the lion statue's eyes lighting up red as it roared and leapt off it's pedistall. "Sick him!" she ordered, though appeared somewhat weakened. The animated statue roared and charged at John.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: A New Tyranny (Godzillawolf & -Gray-)

John grabbed the stone beast by its neck as it charged, twisting in midair as he was thrown off the fire escape. As John landed, the lion hit the pavement and broke apart.

"I'm The Illusion, superhero and protector of citizens from the likes of you," John said, raising a wall of shadowy energy that moved like a solid wall through the alley, wrenching the fire escape platform off its building and continuing towards Tyra.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: A New Tyranny (Godzillawolf & -Gray-)

Tyra spread her wings and swung them over her, blocking the collosion and emerging from the rubble. Tyra chuckled. "So, you think you'll be able to stop us?" he asked, tapping her chin. "Well I could use a little challenge. After all, the police are no match for me, though their screams are so delightful," she said, giving a sadistic smile. "And I do hope your screams are every bit as blood curdling!"

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: A New Tyranny (Godzillawolf & -Gray-)

"Figures," John muttered. "I finally find a supervillain, and she's a sadistic madwoman with wings."

John flicked his hand, and a dark fog spread over the alley. A few seconds later, they appeared to be on the top of a craggy mountain.

"I was getting bored of the cramped space," John said, raising his sword as gusts of wind blew, threatening to knock them off the tall peaks.

Tyra held on tight. "Nice try, but the being that powers me is not going to let me be beaten that easily!" she shouted, giving a sadistic laugh as she spread her wings and took off, diving at John with a stairstep kick.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: A New Tyranny (Godzillawolf & -Gray-)

John rolled to the side as Tyra's foot flew past, slicing through some ice with his sword. The ice immediately turned into a swarm of daggers, which flew towards Tyra.

John felt oddly powerful. After all ,the mountain was an illusion, and illusions were the things that had given him his reputation.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: A New Tyranny (Godzillawolf & -Gray-)

Tyra spun, swinging her stony wings around and throwing the daggers away. "You're tough, I'll give you that," she said, smirking. "But you see, I've got things to do, and once I do them, I'll be more than a match for you," she siad, attempting to fly away.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: A New Tyranny (Godzillawolf & -Gray-)

"This is my domain," John said, growing illusionary wings much like Tyra's and chasing after her. "I don't see how you think you can outrun me, villain."

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: A New Tyranny (Godzillawolf & -Gray-)

Tyra chuckled, giving smirk. "Who said I was trying to outrun you?" she said, suddenly stopping and letting and flipping backwards, aiming a kick at John's head as he speaded towards her.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: A New Tyranny (Godzillawolf & -Gray-)

John conjured a helmet of illusionary iron as Tyra's foot collided with his forehead, but still tumbled backwards, momentarily losing control as he flew towards the mountain. However, he stopped at the last second and turned to glare at Tyra.

"I'll admit," he said, "That I didn't see that coming. However, this just means I'll be going harder on you from now on." As he spoke, John pulled off his helmet and threw it towards Tyra. As it spun and flew through the air, the helmet transformed into a shuriken, directed at the enemy's heart.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: A New Tyranny (Godzillawolf & -Gray-)

Tyra flew up, dodging it. "You don't get it, do you?" she asked. "Tyrania is a real entity, and she's giving me strength!" she stated, naturally lying, but she was a good lier. "Do you really think you stand a chance against one powered by a god?"

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: A New Tyranny (Godzillawolf & -Gray-)

"You'd think a 'real entity' would be mentioned at least once throughout history," Cole replied, laughing and creating more illusionary daggers. "Or is yours a prehistoric deity? If so, you must be pretty good at fighting large reptiles."

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: A New Tyranny (Godzillawolf & -Gray-)

Tyra chuckled. "Look up Tyrania," she stated. "She's a god who dates back to ancient europe, she is recorded," she explained. "But if you want to talk to her, be my guest," she said, closing her eyes. When she openned them, they were glowing blood red. "Mortal, you dare question my divinity?" she said, her voice deeply distorted. Naturally she'd just changed her eyes and voice to her real ones, but that was all part of the illusion. Humans ate this stuff up.
