A supernatural entity calling himself 'Sakak' has been set free inside a museum in the city of Seattle, Washington. Apparently the embodiment of mischief itself, Sakak intends to invoke a sufficient amount of mischief and chaos to strengthen himself, regaining his full power - at which point he will use his regained power to raise a tidal wave capable of wiping out the entire city.

Magnumind will have to really do his homework to learn enough about this new foe to thwart him.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: Battle for Seattle (Godzillawolf & Oblivion)

Jett Animus, better known as Magnumind, was at the local Starbucks, pen in hand, newspaper turned to the crossword section. He had arrived in Seattle a bit ago. It was nice to get away from the superhero business every now and then.

"May I help you?" the man at the counter inquired.

Jett put down the paper. "I'll have a decaf espresso. Just came in from New York. Long flight, lemme tell ya," he said.

After making his order, he returned his attention to the crossword puzzle. "Egyptian goddess of...cats? Who comes up with these things, anyway?" he muttered to himself. "Let's see...normally referred to as 'The Big Apple'...well, duh. New York City."

"Your espresso, sir. That'll be $2.99."

It took a while to register the employee talking. "Thanks," he said, fishing inside of his pockets for a bit, before handing him three dollar bills. "So, anything noteworthy going on right now? Activities? Somethin' like that?"

"Well, one of the local museums was destroyed last night-"

Jett almost dropped his cup. "Wait, what?" he asked incredulously.

"It's been all over the news," the employee said with a shrug. "Look at the paper."

Jett thumbed through the newspaper, finding the front cover with the headlines, "MUSEUM EXHIBIT DAMAGED IN POTENTIALLY SUPERNATURAL EVENT".

Jett finished off the last of his coffee. "I need to check this out..." he said to himself. "Where is this place?"

"It's about three blocks away, you'll know it when you see it. It's the great big building, kinda looks like the White House," the employee said. "Don't waste your time, though. They're only letting officials in."

"I think they'll make an exception." With that, Jett tossed his cup into the nearby garbage bin, and dashed out of the building, making his way to the museum. Of course, the one time he went on a vacation of sorts, this kind of stuff happens. That was his luck.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: Battle for Seattle (Godzillawolf & Oblivion)

Several hours prior, a group of black masked men had broken into the musuem in the early morning, slowly making their way through the musuem. "There's so much stuff here, isn't there?" asked one after knocking out and tying up the guards."

One of the others nodded. "Yeah, we'll be rich!" he said, looking around and stuffing a gold plate into his bag.

One stuffed several valuable artifiacts into his bag, looking through the room slowly. He came across an old necklace with an small, wooden wolve's head on it. The head was marked with red paint and looked rather menicing. "Hey, what about this?" he asked, holding it up.

The others looked. "Nah," said another one. "It's old junk, pretty to look at but not worth a lot."

The man nodded, putting it back. He turned to move, but his bag hooked the mount it was attached to, toppling over the entire display. In trying to regain his balance, the man accidentally staggered back, his foot coming down on the totem and shattering it. "Ah darn it!" he said. "Oh well, no skin off our nose, right?" he asked, walking to continue the robbery.

Laughter suddenly echoed throughout the musuem, dark smoke rising off the shattered totem. A pair of red eyes formed in the smoke. "Well well, what have we here?" asked a voice from it. "It looks like we have some thieves, I do hope you're ready for some fun!" he said, laughing.

-------------------------------

In the present, the criminals were found, one tied up with his own bag, another's knocked out by the revolving door, and the final one hanging from the tree outside the musuem by his his shoe laces, shoes glued to his feet with some kind of tree sap that hadn't been identified. No sign of who did it, but they kept repeating something had came out of a totem and attacked them. They also said their leader, a fourth man, had been there, but all that was found was a rather freaked out kitten.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: Battle for Seattle (Godzillawolf & Oblivion)

Jett had made it to the museum, only to be stopped by one of the officers stationed there. "Hey! No tourists are allowed in here."

Jett raised an eyebrow. "I'm no tourist," he said. "Name's Jett Animus, but you may know me better as Magnumind."

The officer did a double take. "What?!" he shouted. "M-my apologies, Mr. Animus. Four burglars managed to sneak into the museum, but that isn't what has us worried. We found three of them in different spots, and they all said something about a totem pole attacking them. You may want to talk to that one over there," he said, pointing at the one hanging from a nearby tree.

Jett nodded. "Thank you, officer. Good day," he said with a tip of the hat. He walked over to the burglar. He was stuck pretty good, so he didn't even bother untying the guy. "So lemme get this straight. You try to rob the museum, but were apparently attacked by something that had come out of a totem pole? You're absolutely positive?"

OOC: D'you mind if you play the criminals?

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: Battle for Seattle (Godzillawolf & Oblivion)

The man seemed quite freaked out. He nodded though. "I staggered back and stepped on it on accident and then this...thing came out of it!" he said, shaking with fear. "Next thing we know, it grabbed our boss and took him into the musuem somewhere, then it chased us. I don't know what happened to the others after that, but I got caught by the legs and next thing I know, I'm in this tree!"

OOC: It wasn't a totem pole, just a little wolf totem.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: Battle for Seattle (Godzillawolf & Oblivion)

Jett nodded. "Weird story. But I'm used to weird stories," he said. "Do you happen to know what it looked like? Or where it ran off to?" A haunted museum. Even though his trip got interrupted by this event, Jett had to admit, this was easily the most unusual things he had heard in a long, long time. Sure, he had read fictionalized paranormal occurrences , but it never crossed his mind that there was any truth in them.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: Battle for Seattle (Godzillawolf & Oblivion)

"I don't know, it just said "get ready for some real fun" after it put me up here," reported the criminal.

One of the policemen came up with the kitten found inside. "If it helps, Mr. Animus, we found this cat inside, it might have something to do with it."

The cat started meowing as if trying to tell him something.

"You know, that cat has the boss' eyes..." stated the criminal hanging from the tree, looking at it in suprise.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: Battle for Seattle (Godzillawolf & Oblivion)

Jett stood silent for a moment. "Okay, first there are burglars trying to rob a museum, then they're attacked by some weird paranormal creature, then it hangs one of them from a tree and turns their boss into a kitten. What next?" he said, examining the small animal. Unfortunately, he didn't have a way of communicating with animals.

"Okay, anyone here speak Kittenese? 'Cause I don't."

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: Battle for Seattle (Godzillawolf & Oblivion)

"I don't, but perhaps I can give you a place to start," said an elderly man who walked over. "I'm the musuem's curator, and I think I may be able to shed some light on what happened," he said.

Suddenly, the kitten glowed blue and reverted back to human form, causing the cop holding him to fall backwards with the man on top of him. The man looked up, now naked. "Can I get some clothes please?..." he asked, humiliated.

-----------------

Sakak watched his handy work from a distence and laughed loudly. "Oh that's classic!" he exclaimed, then turned into a raven and flew off.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: Battle for Seattle (Godzillawolf & Oblivion)

Jett could've sworn that he heard someone shout during all of the commotion, and turned his head towards the presumed source of the noise, only to find that there was nothing there. "Whoever, or whatever that thing is, he needs to be dealt with, pronto," he noted.

"Alright, first things first," Jett said, turning his attention to the curator. "Before we try and chase that thing down, it would help to know who or what that thing was, and equally important, what it's gonna be able to do. If you do know, of course."

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: Battle for Seattle (Godzillawolf & Oblivion)

The curoter lead him to the wolf totem that had been smashed on the ground. "This was the totem that was smashed. It was of the wolf, which in Inuit mythology is a holy animal," he explained. "But this particular totem is connected to an Inuit myth of a spirit named Sakak," he explained. "It appears that when this totem was destroyed, it set Sakak free."

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: Battle for Seattle (Godzillawolf & Oblivion)

"So, basically, one of those guys smashed this thing, which caused this...Sakak, you said it was? Wow, saying it makes me sound like some diseased rooster..." he said, trailing off momentarily, before picking back up. "This Sakak was set free, and it decided to 'repay' the goons who had set him loose. Now, I'm not a mythology buff, so what's this thing capable of? I don't want to judge it just by that stunt."

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: Battle for Seattle (Godzillawolf & Oblivion)

"I don't know too much, as I just recieved the notice about what it was," explained the curator. "But the university has a mythology professor whose a friend of mine, you could go ask him, he should know," he said, writing the room number and address on a note and handing it to him.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: Battle for Seattle (Godzillawolf & Oblivion)

"Will do, thanks," Jett said, taking the note. He then whipped out a fairly bulky notepad and a pen, writing in the notepad as he walked towards the university.

Name: Sakak
Appearance: Unknown, possibly wolf-related
Background: Tied with Inuit mythology
Past Misdeeds: Defaced Seattle Museum exhibit, incapacitated and/or neutralized attempted robbers.
Special Abilities: All things mischief-oriented
Weaknesses: Unknown
Current Status: Roaming in Seattle
Other: Supernatural entity, may require unorthodox methods to neutralize

With that, he clicked his pen, and stashed the notebook away. He kept records of as many criminals as he could in that notepad, for reference. Just in case there was any kind of possibility he would see them again. He then arrived at the university, quickly moving through the main entrance without incident. The place looked quite pristine. Seattle was a pretty nice place...for the most part. But hey, after living in the state of New York your whole life, you got used to big cities, as well as their...less than spectacular parts.

After he had located the professor's room, he gave the door three firm knocks, waiting for an answer.

The professor, an elderly man, openned the door. "Ah, hello," he said. "You must be that hero my friend called and told me was coming, come on in," he said, leading the way in, the room was convered in all sorts of pictures and artifacts. "My name is Dr. Connors," he said. "So the one you're dealing with is Sakak, from Inuit mythology...well not just Inuit possibly."

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: Battle for Seattle (Godzillawolf & Oblivion)

"Yes. And from what I've seen, that thing is mischief incarnate, with just a bit of evil on the side," Jett said. "The thing had been set loose in a nearby museum, by some robbers, and he messed them up good. So, to avoid something like that, I need to know a few things. First of all, what does it look like? It's gonna be a bit hard to take that thing down if I don't know what to look for."

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: Battle for Seattle (Godzillawolf & Oblivion)

"That's part of your problem," said Dr. Connors. "Sakak is the spirit and embodyment of mischief. In some cultures he's even refered to as a God," he explained, looking over his books. "Loki, Anansi, and those other mischief spirits are probably Sakak in a different form of some sort. His default form according to the actual myth of him is Coyote, as he is frequently refered to in a number of native american mythologies," he stated. "One thing all mythological trickster spirits have in common is their ability to change form. However, they all retain some common traits in all forms, normally the eyes," he explained, handing him an old paper with an image of a dark furred, red eyed Coyote wearing inuit beeds.

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: Battle for Seattle (Godzillawolf & Oblivion)

"Fantastic, so finding him is going to be a bit of a problem," Jett said, looking over the picture. He atook out his notepad, and wrote out a small note.

Appearance: Shapeshifter, may appear in any form. Main form appears to be a coyote with red eyes and Inuit beads.

"Okay, so what about his powers? Besides the shapeshifting," Jett inquired. "Because I get the slight intuition that what happened at the museum isn't all that this thing can do."

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: Battle for Seattle (Godzillawolf & Oblivion)

"Not nearly," said Connors. "Sakak wouldn't be at his full power yet. But he can do escentually anything related to mischief," he explained. "At full power, he can even warp reality to some extant. As for how he ended up here, according to the myth, his pranks got so far out of hand, the other spirits had enough and imprisoned him in the wolf totem. I can't say what he did, but it must've been pretty serious if they sealed him away for it."

Re: ROGUES GALLERY: Battle for Seattle (Godzillawolf & Oblivion)

"Wait, so Sakak's gonna get stronger?" Jett said. "Looks like I'm gonna have my hands full. Just a sec..." He wrote another note in his pad.

Background: Imprisoned in totem by other Inuit spirits for out-of-hand pranks.

"Lemme guess. It gets more power by pranking people," Jett said. If that was the case, he would have to hunt Sakak down before this whole thing spiraled out of control.
