Academy Event: Pasio Academy Opening
This re-run of the Pasio Academy Opening Academy Event will run through to October 9th, at 10:59pm (PDT). This is the first time it, or any other Academy Event, has been re-run.
During your Academy Experience, Academy Sync Pairs will have a special In-Training Sync Grid. After completing the Final Exam, players will be able to select the Sync Grid they'd like to retain as their completed grid for the Sync Pair, which will then apply from then on when the pair is used outside the Academy Event.
Returning Academy Events can take one of two formats, which differ based on the event's featured Sync Pair:
- Same Academy Sync Pair: Players will get another chance to train the same Sync Pair as a previous version of the event. In this format, Custom ★ Power-Ups obtained in the event will be identical to the previous event.
- Different Academy Sync Pair: Players will get an opportunity to train an entirely new Academy Sync Pair. Players will retain their previously obtained Academy Sync Pair without any changes. Custom ★ Power-Ups obtained in the event will apply only to the new Sync Pair, and will not be usable with the previous Sync Pair.
Similar to regular Story Events, players will receive an increased amount of bonus rewards if they take on event battles using teams that feature specific sync pairs. The more of these sync pairs that players place in their lineup, the greater the bonus received. The applicable Sync Pairs and reward rates for this event are as follows:
- Rei (Academy) & Braviary, Lacey & Granbull: +100% (×2.0) bonus rewards
- Rosa (Academy) & Deerling (Summer Form): +50% (×1.5) bonus rewards
- Rosa (Academy) & Deerling (Spring Form), Florian & Lechonk, Brendan (Academy) & Marshtomp, Morty (Academy) & Typhlosion, Marnie (Academy) & Cyclizar, Iris (Academy) & Lapras, and Gladion (Academy) & Porygon-Z: +30% (×1.3) bonus rewards
- All other Sinnoh or Paldea sync pairs: +10% (×1.1) bonus rewards
Players should also note the following when playing this event:
- To participate, unlock Rosa (Academy)'s 6★ EX status, or unlock Rosa (Academy's) EX Role, players must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player.
- The sync pairs that appear as opponents in battle have different capabilities than those players can actually obtain.
This run of Pasio Academy Opening includes a special Academy Event Support Log-In Bonus. This bonus will be held twice, with players receiving 5× Stamina ticket the first ttime they log in during each of the following periods:
- First Run: September 21st at 11:00pm (PDT) through September 28th at 10:59pm (PDT)
- Second Run: September 28th at 11:00pm (PDT) through October 5th at 10:59pm (PDT)
Additionally, a special Gems with Gym Emotes offer is available from the in-game shop, allowing players to obtain a Rosa (Academy) Gym Emote as a present. This offer, which comes with 250 paid gems, can be purchased under the With Emotes tab in the Purchase Gems menu of the in-game shop until October 9th at 10:59pm (PDT).
Rei (Academy) & Braviary, who made their debut alongside the original run of Pasio Academy Opening, return in these limited-time Costume Scouts. The Rei Costume Scout and Rei Costume Tiered Scout will run through until October 9th, at 10:59pm (PDT). The associated Rei Costume Featured Ticket Scout and Rei Costume Guaranteed Ticket Scout meanwhile will run through to October 16th, at 10:59pm (PDT).
Rei (Academy) & Braviary are able to continuously put out strong attacks with a combination of Passive Skills that rely on them having used up their MP. Their T-Move MP 0 & Hit: Free Move Next 9 and T-Move MP 0 & Hit: Special Boost ↑2 9 will, when their remaining MP for moves is zero, apply the Free Move Next effect to Rei (Academy) & Braviary and increase their Special Moves ↑ Next effect by two ranks whenever their attack moves are successful. Holding onto their Go Faster move for a turn might be worth it however, since this Status Move will have stronger effects if players can increase their Speed first, such as through the effects of their Gusty Mountains Esper Wing attack. Lacey & Granbull, who made their debut alongside the original run of Pasio Academy Opening, return in this limited-time Poké Fair Scout running through to October 9th, at 10:59pm (PDT). As normal for Poké Fair Scouts, 5★ sync pairs have a 10% chance of appearing in this scout. This Poké Fair Scout also includes a daily discount, where players can perform a single scout for ×100 paid gems. This daily discount can be used 1 time per day during the entire length of the scout.
Lacey & Granbull are completely built around field control, providing a range of solutions to buff their allies and debuff opponents. Their Share the Cuteness! status move applies the Move Gauge Acceleration effect to the allied field of play, as well as raising an ally's Sp. Atk by four stat ranks, and their critical-hit rate by three stat ranks. While this Move Gauge Acceleration effect is in play, their Star Student's Whispers Passive Skill reduces damage for all allies when they are hit by attack moves or sync moves, as well as protecting them from critical hits, and even extending the duration of the Move Gauge Acceleration effect itself. The Move Gauge Acceleration effect being in play also activates their Love Dazzling Gleam move, which randomly lowers each opponent's stats six times, turns the field of play's zone into an EX Fairy Zone, and increases the Special Moves ↑ Next effect of all allied sync pairs by one rank. More information about this sync pair can be found on Bulbapedia.
