Episode 1:
Right away, this show is immediately more interesting than the previous pokemon shows, to me at least. Ash's episodic antics were fun of course, but a pokemon show with an actual plot and antagonists and stuff is pretty exciting! I love how the dynamic between Liko and Sprigatito mirrors Ash and Pikachu just a little, with how both starters are a bit finicky and don't listen at first.
I like that the plot isn't just straight up adapting Scarlet and Violet. It is a little odd to me that the school is in Kanto rather than Paldea, but it's a fun setting regardless! I'm glad they're taking a more unique approach to the story : )
Curious to see what happens with the terapagos pendant thing! It's obvious that the bad guys want it because it has Legendary Powers or whatever. I'm curious to see where that goes.
I'm a big fan of Liko as a protagonist. Having a reserved and timid girl as the protagonist rather than a hotheaded boy REALLY goes a long way in differentiating it from previous series!! I really like it! I can relate to some of her struggles lmao. She alone definitely helps make the series feel more unique.
Also, I like Liko's roommate a lot.

The airship is really interesting! Not a very common thing to see in pokemon, it's super cool and unique. The captain pikachu was so silly, lol. The battle with Friede and Amethio was fun to watch, and I was surprised at how powerful Sprigatito was!
On that note, though.. I feel like 'The Explorers' is a pretty plain name for an antagonist group. Maybe it's different in the dub? idk, it just feels a little bit weak compared to other evil groups in the series.
Murdock also mentioned that there were children plural aboard the airship, so I'm guessing this is when the boy protagonist will come in lol.
Overall though, this story is neat! Curious to see where it goes

the group name is the same in the dub, and it's definitely pretty plain and boring. it does make some more sense later on but it's not too great of a recognizable name...

It's the same name in both versions. They do justify it though.

Okaayyy, episode 3!

This one was pretty fun! Off the bat i noticed murdock's hair is patterned like a fork and knife which fits him lmao. I'm excited to see more of the rising volt tacklers, i think they're a very fun and unique cast!! I'm sure they're gonna get up to many shenanigans....
Still kinda wondering when Roy is gonna come in, but I like Liko a lot so I don't really care that much lmao. I've said this a lot but it is so, so, soooo refreshing to have her as a protagonist rather than a hotheaded boy. It just makes it way more interesting!!
Sprigatito is super cuuute...very precious kitty. Glad to see the two got reunited. : 3
Overall I don't have a ton of thoughts on this one, but it was fun!

congratulations, you noticed this way sooner than i did LOL. i can’t believe how far i was into this show when i went, “WAIT. MURDOCK’S HAIR IS A FORK AND KNIFE.” i think it was still the first two arcs, don’t know exactly when, but it was still comedically late.

glad you’ve been hooked by the explorers and the plot! this is what happened to me back when the show aired; put it on just wanting to see if liko was any good and expected to drop it pretty much immediately after but i was shocked by the actual plot going on and it hooked me immediately.

definitely will keep an eye on this blog because seeing people react to hz for the first time is such a treat lol

EPISODE 4: BACK IN THE SADDLE New
Hi I'm finally back on this because i need more things to fill the time between now and champions dropping.

Aannyyyway, episode 4! It's cool to finally meet Roy, I can't wait to see his little arc happen. Unfortunately I've kinda already been spoiled on what's in his mysterious ancient poke ball but it still seems like he'll have a fun story!! The tease with the explorers at the end was interesting, and also Gibeon is a very funny name to me LMAO.
 
Episode 5 New
This was a really fun one!! I love the chemistry between the Rising Volt Tacklers (still not crazy about that name, it works much better in japanese, but whatever), they're such a fun cast!! And I think the bond that Roy and Fuecoco share already is SO cute. They'll make very good partners I think!! Excited to see how this little battle wraps up..
 
Episode 6 New
Another really good one!! I didn't expect the shiny rayquaza to come into play that quickly!! I'm happy that roy is now an official member of the team, I'm super excited to see where his little storyline goes!! Amethio disobeying orders was also pretty interesting. I'm just so excited to see where this all goes!!
 
Episode 7 New
I was wondering when Dot was gonna come into all this! I didn't realize she was already on the ship though, lol. And I didn't realize she was related to Murdock either!! That's pretty cool. It's fun to see Liko and Roy working together and being friends and stuff, they make a fun duo for sure. I also love Cap so much, wonderful little guy
 
Episode 8 New
I really like Dot!!! Her voice when she's out of nidothing-mode (in the japanese audio, which is what i'm watching) wasn't what I expected, and neither was her personality!! But ngl it's kind of a breath of fresh air when it comes to those sort of shut-in nerd types, it's really cool! I totally expected her to be like...soft-spoken and shy, lol. I can already tell why liko/dot is so beloved, their dynamic is already SUPER fun imo. Also friede and roy getting scammed was funny
