Because having five threads:

The Remakes
Hoenn Remake Clues
A Hoenn Revisit
I don't want a R/S Remake...how about a Sequel instead?
What would you rather have for RS in Gen V

...is ridiculous when nothing is confirmed. Notice how, despite the love of GSC, it was all pretty and clean without a billion threads? It's because all the discussion was fused into one of these, to make room for discussion existing games.

Some of these threads discuss the same stuff anyway like the last two on the list, sure What would you rather have for RS in Gen V is a bit more general, but considering this community's inability to stay on one topic, I don't want a R/S Remake...how about a Sequel instead? could have easily been expanded into that.

And of course, none of these threads were dead. So you know, discuss the possibility of a game that may or may not exist here to free up the clutter.

Will try to get mod's permission on this.

I think what's pointing toward it is every region is now on the DS except Hoenn:

Sinnoh is on the DS
Johto AND Kanto are on the DS in HGSS
Gen V will be on the DS

Every region on the DS excluding Hoenn? I doubt it'll stay that way for long.

More than 202 in the Hdex. Throw in some Kanto and Johto Pokémon, maybe some Sinnoh Pokémon, there's only 67 of the first 251 in there. Definitely include Gallade, Froslass, Dusknoir, Probopass, Budew, Roserade, Rhyperior, Magnezone, and Chingling in the Neo-Hdex. Maybe some other Gen IV evos of Gen I/II Pokémon that weren't in there originally as well. And any new baby forms or evolved forms of Gen III Pokémon introduced in Gen V.

Pt and HGSS showed that we can indeed handle a regional Pokédex larger than 200.

Also, we need more things to do post-Ndex. RS had the absolute least amount of post-National crap to do since RBY, and even those remakes gave us a ton more to do. Battle Frontier and a Safari Zone extension should not be it, let us catch more non-Hoenn Pokémon.

My wish is that keep the same characters, there was so much stuff going on when Kotone was revealed not to be Kris.

Give the Aquas some water types and the Magmas some fire/ground/rock Pokemon, they were just sad in the originals.

yay! another discussion, debate, wishlist!

as long as they give hoenn some justice, I wont care. Hoenn was awesome to me, but I think they're could've been a little more.

Yeah really, it's kind of ironic that most of the Aqua grunt's Pokemon were land dwelling. For magma, any land-dwelling Pokemon would be fine if you ask me.

I think that any remake of any past games from now on should just retcon the Regional Pokedex to have all new introduced pre-evolution and evolutions within it. The only ones that make sense not to be in it are Magnezone and Probopass since their method of evolution actually are region exclusive.

Why shouldn't the Battle Frontier be in it?

Wishlist? A bit more plot after the league (and battle frontier of course). Maybe a something sevii island style.

I agree we need more things to do post national dex, but I don't agree with taking out the safari zone extention or Battle Frontier. If anything HGSS shows us that remakes can and probably will have a BF in them. Also, Hoenns BF has more than Gen IV BF did.

Yes, I agree with this one. Aquas could have sharpedos and tentacool/cruel. Magma could have Magcargo etc...

For my wishlist (stuff I remeber from originals needing improving/changing etc):

Making dive zones more interesting, could make the dive area look 3D and use the touchscreen for maybe a sort of sidequest in its on, that you have to either use the buttons or touch the screen to move the player about the sceeen.

Making Mirage Island slightly easier to find. Over 200+ days of playing my Sapphire with same save, I never did find Mirage Island.

Add a few extra tricks to trickmasters house after you complete them all. I know he leaves, but maybe he could return at some point?

Add something to make secret areas a little better.

Add a better plot with May or Brendan (whoever is your rival) did you ever get to fight your rivals fully evolved pokemon? I don't recall in Sapphire ever doing so. ANd maybe add more plot with Wally, especially when you get to a point when nothing happens after a certian point with him, he stays in Victory road and says "I'll challenge the E4 and get stronger" or something along those lines, when you beat him a few times, then nothing changes.

Second time around and after National Dex, give E4 different and stronger pokemon. Like give Drake a Garchomp? Then maybe make Steven the champion the first time you challenge E4 and after beating them, Wallace is there next and Steven is then found where you find him in Emerald.

Bring back Day/Night system, much better than not having it.

For Brendan/May:

Give them revamped clothing, but still similar to their old designs. Keep Brendan's hat and May's bandana, but make some slight alterations here and there.

I seconded that.

Then I will third it.

Give the Aquas some water types and the Magmas some fire/ground/rock Pokemon, they were just sad in the originals.

Exactly. What kind of group called team AQUA doesn't even use mostly water pokemon?

And considering how much of Hoenn is actually water, it's quite the failure on their part.

As for the characters, I can't imagine that they would replace May, she was a major character in the anime, and I can't imagine people would like that. Also, I agree with Battaman. Rocket had Zubat, Ekans, Sandshrew, Houndour, Drowzee, Ratatta, Machop, etc. They had variety out the ass. Galactic, too; Croagunk, Wurmple, Stunky, Glameow, Murkrow, Houndour again, the list goes on and on. Then, Aqua and Magma just had Zubat, Poochyena, and Carvanha/Numel. Of course, I could've sworn I fought a Magma Grunt with a Baltoy in Emerald... Anywho, it's not enough variety. Throw in some Spheal, or Sandshrew! I'm hoping it'll be based more on Emerald than Ruby and Sapphire. Steven made a much harder Champion than Wallace, but at least you could still fight him in Emerald, in Meteor Falls. I thought it was more suiting to his character, too; being a League Champion seems like a very professional role, and he'd much rather hang out in a cave studying the minerals and stones. Also, Battle Frontier. Big time. I would like to fight Wally more, too. For a main character, he had really limited screentime. Aqua and Magma will likely be version-exclusive, considering they'll probably make them paired versions. Courtney needs to show up, too; she was completely absent in Emerald!

Now, time for places. I'd like to see something more original on the water Routes. Considering that they took up most of the region, you would expect to have more exotic wildlife. But, no. Wingull, Pelipper, Tentacool, and that's it. Fishing was more tedious in that game, so few did it. Unfortunately, that's how you get most of the Pokemon in the game. Geez, why can't we just find Sharpedo while we're surfing? Another thing I'd like to see is diving. I imagine they'll bring it back, but I'd like to see lots and lots of hidden areas with that. Like the Sealed Chamber, but to a much more plentiful extent. I would also like to see some rearrangement with the catch rates. Poochyena spam was NOT fun. Also, waiting 'til Route 104 to find a Flying-Type? Bullcrap. If my hunch is correct, and Aqua/Magma will indeed be version-exclusives, then Aqua and Magma will both have hideouts in Lilycove, like in R/S. In case you didn't know, Magma moved their hideout to Mt. Chimney in Emerald. I'm hoping that their will be more pizazz in the Magma Hideout; In Ruby, it was the exact same as it was in Sapphire, but the water pools were replaced with gigantic stone mounds. Yet, still; most of the base was filled with submarine ports filled with water. I thought they were all about land! Lava pools would work magic.

Story time! I figure that Scott will still be present (at least I hope so). As stated above, Aqua/Magma will probably be version-exclusives. Because of this, the stories will mostly follow R/S, with hints of Emerald (Battle Frontier, Scott, Juan as a Gym Leader, Steven in Meteor Falls, etc.). There actually isn't much to clarify, here. It'll follow Ruby and Sapphire, with hints of Emerald. As I had already said. Kyogre and Groudon will be the main targets, and not Rayquaza. Hopefully, Rayquaza will still be part of the storyline, just not as important. Kind of like what they did with Suicune in HG/SS. It wasn't too terribly important, but it was held in a higher esteem than the others of the Beast Trio.

TL;DR: the remakes will follow Ruby and Sapphire, with several references to Emerald. Aqua and Magma will be version exclusives.

For Aqua:
Corphish line, Crawdaunt will be a excellent pokemon for one of the admins.
Tentacool line, why not? It's the only thing in the sea anyway.. along whit
Wingul line
Barboach line, could be used.
Wailimer line
Spheal line, how is it not in?
And of course keep Zubat, Carawana and Poocheyena lines

For the Magmas:
Torkoal
Slugma line, how is it not part of the Magmas? It is made of magma
Geodude and Onix lines could also be used along whit Solrock.
And keep Numel, Zubat and Poocheyena lines

I don't have any more ideas by now.

If they do make the remakes of these games, which is probably going to happen looking at all the games in the past, my only "wish" I guess you can call it is that they make Diving more fun. To me diving could have been tons better, and it, at times, felt too restricted. Like you can only go in this path and this path only D:<. I didn't like that, so maybe they could expand that.

I'm pretty sure they're gonna do that. They made Kanto remakes with johto legends then a new Gen. Now they're making johto remakes with hoenn legends then a new Gen.

Back in Generation III, Hoenn felt so far away from the other regions. Like it was far across the world. There was not a lot of reference to Kanto and Johto except here and there.

my only "wish" is that the E4 gets stronger teams and more references to other regions

I would be cool if they are remade, they would include LaRousse City, or something like it. It would make the region a little bigger and you could include a lot more things. Like if they feature where you can change your players clothes, they could put a mall.

Update the freaking "cut scene" battle between Kyorge and Groudon. The original was embarrassingly bad. That scene probably inspired the equally bad battle from the anime.

I hope they would implement the spaceship thing on Mosdeep city. Maybe make it useable? I want to fly to the moon!

edit: just to add to the spaceship idea. Maybe it becomes activated after you beat the Elite 4 and you can fly on it to some sort of moon or planet to catch Jirachi. :D
