Review S08 EP10: Where's Armaldo?

Yeah, MistyIRC. I actually HAD to think for that!

Question: What was Ash's first starter choice?
Answer: Squirtle

Anyways, decent episode, but Breloom and Cradliy looking alike? What the?
8/10

P.S. Meowth loves a buff boss. XD

Wow. Good question. And I knew that as well. I wish Toonami got Trainer's Choice. :-(

I mentioned Prof. Proctor’s dub name with the episode title. It’s interesting that his wife calls him “Proctor”. A very close relationship there. :p

So we get the Kanto prehistoric Pokémon in fantasy, but how does Meowth think they can get those? I mean, it isn’t as if anyone we know is researching them and has already revived an Aerodactyl. Surely the professors must know of Gary’s work!

And since the water apparently rose away from the mainland (That map can't be to scale) surely a mention of Kyogre wouldn’t go amiss here either.

So it took forever to learn Petal dance did it? And we don’t get to see any of it? I mentioned this on another thread yesterday, but we always get to see Ash training his own Pokémon.

“Here’s something that’s getting really old”
“Wobbuffet”
My sentiments exactly.

It scares me how much they put into that Giovanni diving animation.

Very very good episode. This is a good example of what Hoenn is all about, even if it's late Hoenn.

James: "I don't care WHAT it smells like!"

All the Trainer choices for Advanced Battle have been correct instead of one of them.

4kids must have fired the guy who did the Advanced Challenge TC's and hired a new guy for the Advance Battle season. All of them have been correct except for one since they thought Mudkip was part ground, but the TC's have been excellent this season.

Name rehash. Wasn't there that Doctor Proctor guy in the Temaku episode?

Where do I begin? TC, fucking WOW. I got it wrong, and justifiably too. @_@

Everything else....ehhhh...

This episode is chock full of hypocrisies. Proctor claims that he wants to recreate the Anorith/Lileep environment, then comes about and says he wants to turn it into an amusement park, but then makes the kids swear not to tell a soul, for the reason that Max mentions: the pair didn't want people coming around and bothering them.

....What the hell do you think an amusement park will do? Noise, pollution and inconsiderate people aren't exclusively mainland attractions, after all.

At the same time, Proctor scream, "What're you doing? This is a restricted area!" Then goes right along and let's the brat come inside. If people are going to have rules like 'DO NOT ENTERZ!' at least try to uphold them and not let the cute shota-bait lure you into changing your mind.

Claiming the Armaldo would never go berzerk is ridiculous. Not all pokemon are friendly, just like not all pets are friendly, despite how long you had them. I laugh at your puny fantasy logic.

Now the Boss fantasy seriously made me WTF. Release his wild side...everyone knows he releases enough of his wild side in his office. On various underlings. Multiple times. With maybe a complaint or two. But it's all good.

Brock's line about Annie being Proctor's wife was adorable. :D Poor guy, shot down before he could even propose. Well, at least this proves he's not for committing adultery. Pity.

And now I shall take the time to make funny noises over Rannells doing Armaldo's voice as Armaldo uses Water Gun (the gurgle). Because that's hilarious to imagine in the recording booth.

Did I like this episode. No. It sorely reminds me I don't have an Anorith in my PC, and probably never will. >.> AND I WANT ONE.

One word: Emerald! :P

The professor saving the Armaldo was really cliché, though.

Not quite, Doctor Proctor was from "A Chansey Operation" in the first season. Remember how Doctor Proctor asked Misty out for a slice of pizza? That's him.

The guy in this episode was named "Professor Proctor". BIG difference. Doctor Proctor is from the Chansey episode in Season 1 and Professor Proctor is from the Armaldo episode.

Two words: Tight budget. That, and a scanner's higher on my priority list, unfortunately. I want Emerald... ;.; but I can't have it yet.

And ZOMGWTFBBQ word. *straight face*

Okay, wrong episode, but it's still a name rehash. I was perfectly aware of the doctor/professor difference between them when I noted it, but it's awful name to begin with, so why was there a need to reuse it?

Well, shoot, my half-awake brain couldn't think in time. XD OK, OK, no riots! ::totally embarassed:: Man, I'm just gonna watch my tape when I can freaking think...

Jungle!Gio was hilarious.

He asked Jessie out for a slice, too. Interests: pizza, women...

What was the wife's name? Annie? I think it's a rehash, too.

I think the whole creating an amusement park thing was supposed to be a reference to Jurassic Park... although, everyone has loooong since forgotten Jurassic Park (especially after that 3rd movie that really made everyone want to forget).

Tarzan ChibiGeo... I couldn't stop laughing. Meowth's boss fantasies seem to get more creative by the minute. XD

Maybe Dr. Proctor and Professor Proctor are relatives. :p

All it all, 'twas a fun episode. And a good Trainer's Choice as well.

Well, that didn't stop New Line from making a sequel to The Mask 11 years later.

Giovanni is ripped. At least, in Meowth's dreams.

A rather forgettable episode complete with a hokey plot. Amusement park? Please.
