Since Chosen of Mana deleted the one he made...

Japanese Episode AG 107: "Trapinch and Vibrava! Lake of Illusion!"
American Episode 383: "Beg, Burrow and Steal"
AG69.jpg
Kids' WB!, 10:00am ET
The group trespass on dangerous territory, search for a lake that doesn't exist, and get half an hour closer to Sootopolis City.

*This thread is dedicated to the female character of the day, who was mobbed by fans after the show for suggesting that the characters had anything to do with One Piece*

Interesting episode. The story was good, though it is a bit much of a coincidence that the Trapinch evolved on both occasions that Hal is at the lake. The episode would have probably worked without the Character of the day shipping, but I’m not complaining. The 3rd movie music worked well here, and I loved Ludicolo’s gimmick. I hope they keep it.

But didn’t May see a Meganium in the Gulpin episode?

I didn't really like this episode. Nothing really stuck out.

6/10

Heh, sorry. Just a little paranoid, since I don't have the fancy first post things you have :P

Trainer's Choice screw-up!
"Which Pokemon would last longest against a psychic attack? (Teddiursa, Misdreaveus, Poocheyana)
"If you chose Teddiursa, you were right!"

At the very least, if they hadn't picked Poochyena, I thought maybe they would've gone with Misdreavus.

But no, they pick Teddiursa.

Meh, perhaps they wanted to say 'Ghost'.

I just copied it from one of Dogasu's opening posts. The ones made over the past few weeks don't have them.

I was confused with the Trainer's Choice, but I suppose that was understandable...

I did catch the One Piece reference, and I was like, Oh...

Trapinch are cute little things. I've grown to like them.

This was the first time I saw the opening without the D/P pokemon in it. (I missed the last couple of weeks, so this is probably why.) It just kinda looks like Team Rocket spazzes like they do all the time. Although I miss Manene...

Here's my review of 'Beg Burrow, and Steal!" (just got done watching it):

--Here goes!
--Oh, I'm unbeatable!
--Alisa's a nice name....
--LOL at Crazy Brock!
--I can see why Max is impressed...
--The story of the Lake of Illusion...
--Zip through the Team Rocket motto...
--Ash is so brave going down the Trapinch hole...
--I'm beginning to get annoyed by all this calling for Pikachu...
--Meowth's dream sequence...
--Sneaky Rockets!
--Now it's the other's turn to head down the hole...
--RUN!!!
--They found the Lake of Illusion!
--Pikachu's all right!
--but Team Rocket had to spoil a touching moment!
--LOL at Ludicolo!
--Of course James has to get glomped...
--Yay! the gang won!
--::gives Brock a Kleenex::
--The End!

meh. The plot really didn't interest me that much, and the whole "gettig lost in the cave" was done already in the Steven episode. However, it was more intereting for me than the japanese episode due to the dub lines. Brock's come-on was one of the best in a long time. I think it's going in the Brock pick-up line hall of fame for me ^^. Max had some amusing lines too, and I liked Team Rocket's running joke about the twerps being so predictable. But I think the best line of all was right before the Boss fantasy.

James: Why would the boss want that?

Eric's delivery on that line was great, and it was a lot better than the japanse version, where the line sounded merely curious. I also lik the character of the day shipping if only for the fact that the girl was taller than the guy *adds ship to his growing list of "girl taller than guy" ships* Also, during one of the scenes (I think t was when they were all sliding down the tunnel) you can hear' Trapinch say it's japanese name.

overall: 2 stars

I missed a One Piece reference? Shoot. o_O What was it?

Hal...Me thinks I'm in love with his VA (very fresh and original). I swear I know the voice from somewhere, but it's not clicking, and it's very frustrating. ;.; ^_^ But Hal himself is so cute. Such an adorable, clueless goofball. He reminds me of another character who I can't think of, and it's doubly frustrating.

EDIT: TAKATO from Digimon Tamers. THAT's who he reminds me of! ^_^ *sigh of relief*

But holy lord, once Elisa stepped on, I was pretty much complaining about all the female CotDs that make an apperance, but once Hal got on, I changed that complaint to the many appearances of two people of the opposite gender having some form of romantic relationship. Groan.

This episode wasn't as exciting as all the other underground episodes. It just...sucked.

Yeah, it was pretty average. I kind of liked Hal and Elisa's interaction, though. And Ludicolo's dancing with Max repeatedly is funny. And I would love to know what the One Piece reference was, since I wasn't completely awake when I watched this ep.

There wasn't a real reference, per say... Elisa just said something like, "I'm glad we all made it one piece." Except it sounded halfway between normal dialogue and saying the title of it.

Didn't sound like she was stressing the words to me. Any more than her normal stress on words, which was a little pecular.

Elisa, hmm? One letter off from a friend's name.

Hal's voice was so cute! He also looked like another friend's style of art.

This was a pretty good episode! First of all, I liked both of the characters-of-the-day. They were cool, especially Elisa. She almost had my name. Anyway, I love the fact that Ash was really determined to get Pikachu back in this episode. That was great! And I also liked that Trapinch, with the transmitter thing on its back. It was really cute. And I also liked the part when Ash and everyone fell into the lake, and realized that they finally found it. Of course, my favorite part was when Pikachu called out to Ash, and said, "Pikapi!". And then he went over there, and hugged Pikachu. That was so cute!! And overall, this was a really good episode, it was funny, and the two character-of-the-days were great.

Rating: 5 out of 5

Am I the only person who thinks Alisa is hot? Besides her presence, the episode was very mehish.

There was no stress. She just casually asked if everyone was still in One Piece.

I think Hal was kind of cute. You're right, though. Other than the looks of the CotD (singular or plural, depending on your preferences) and when the Trapinch were chewing up TR's machine (they were so cute!), it wasn't a very interesting episode in my eyes. And in my ears for that matter; TR sounded bored, and I can't say that I liked Elisa's voice much. I just don't know why. Not to mention that Trainer's Choice....

<.< It was definitely a trick question: Which pokemon would last the longest against a psychic attack?

Well, given that psychic attacks don't work on dark types, there's no 'lasting' whatsoever. It just doesn't happen. And assuming you remember the ghost family in R/B/Y were ghost/poison and thus, weak to psychic attacks, maybe they assumed Misdreavus was also part poison. So with those in mind, a Teddiursa could, logically in the eyes of the assumer, last the longest against a psychic attack.

....But this is given them much too much credit, even for the Misdreavus blunder (and they probably thought dark types were weak to psychic anyway) and they really should be shot. Repeatedly.

I don't know.... I think it would be like asking which would last longest in a kitchen blender: an inch cube of steel, a brown deflated balloon, or a purple deflated balloon. One would be undamaged and thus lasting the longest, and the others would be rather beat up.
