Review S08 EP49: Caterpie's Big DIlemma

Thier were "Mystery Candy Complete" that were altered "Mystery Candies", a translation mistake wherin it was refering to Rare Candies originally?

Btw Dogasu, how come your site is down?

Is it? Damn.

Not sure about the Rare Candies thing, though. I'll have to look that up when I do the comparison for it. Which, at the rate I'm going, won't be until May 2008.

I was wondering that too... hmm. I would guess that it was a translation mistake, because that would make more sense to me... but who knows.

But didn't James say something about Rare Candies? I just thought they wanted to make them sound more special than the originals.

Good episode. I haven't watched for a while; is that a completely new Officer Jenny voice right before they switched? I'm going to have to listen to it again, but it reminded me of May or Jessie from the new voice cast.
I wouldn't want my Butterfree to go back to being small. Food costs would be hell, though. -_-;

No, it is the same voice for Officer Jenny that we've had since the Ribbon Cup Caper.

This episode was alright, as in the Japanese version, my favorite part was the Team Rocket plot/battle. (Wobbuffet's mad klepto skillz, for the win.) Gordon's constant string of old sayings, wore on my nerves a little. All in all, a decent filler, I did suffer from Butterfree nostalgia.

Despite the fact that it's just a typical filler, it gets points from me because I'm a HUGE sucker for size-changing episodes.

One thing I didn't get was this: after the giant Cacnea went all lovey-dovey with James, we never see it again. o_O
Forgetful much, writers?

Giant caterpie destroying a city.

Giant caterpie destroying a city.

THAT IS SO AWESOME!

Tentracruel destroyed an entire city, essentially devastating entire buildings and attacking innocent peopel in a rage.

Caterpie simply knocked over one bridge and a single tower, it didn't do anything else.

They had the scene in Sonic Adventure where Perfect Chaos destroyed and flooded Station Square in the same way, and that was a year after T&T aired. So it's not much different.

In the Japanese version, the "Mystery Candy Complete" is called "kanari fushigi na ame". That is, instead of being "mysterious candy" (aka rare candy), it's "quite mysterious candy," at least if I'm hearing right.
(For those who have the episode on hand, the doctor says it at 9:17, then Satoshi repeats it immediately after.)

*is very late reviewing this episode* ^^o

This was a pretty good episode! I found it quite interesting that a little Pokemon like a Caterpie could get that big by accident! In a way, it kind of reminded me of "Address Unown", because of the 'let's ride on the giant Pokemon' thing. XD Oh, and I found it kinda weird how they called the Rare Candy "Mystery Candy Complete". I guess they had way too many lip flaps to just call it Rare Candy/Rare Candy Complete. And just what is it with Pokemon and weird scientists/professors that come up with goofy inventions and stuff? That guy (I forgot his name) reminded me of the guy from "Gulpin It Down", lol. XD And of course, one of my favorite parts in this episode was when Cacnea got giant-sized and it crushed James. That was hilarious!! XD Anyway though, overall, this was an interesting episode and it was really funny too.
