Captions still suck (they captioned "Smoochum" as "cruncha" at one point), and Jynx's voice sucks bad, but hey, they kept the rice ball and Jessie's cleavage.

Although what's with the writers and rolling rice balls? First Masamune's, now this.

I remember the Rougela episode having the some of the worst animation of the entire series, second only to "First Pokémon! Final Battle!!" I think there are maybe two shots in this entire episode where a character is actually drawn on-model.

Also, anyone remember when everyone thought this episode would get banned in the US?

I dunno...the animation...was strangely enjoyable to me.

Anabel has a great voice.

Well, I noticed they haven't mentioned Anabel's name (they cut off before she said it) and haven't used a female pronoun. I think they are going for the "YOUR A FEMALE!!!!!!" thing.

Didn't catch the first ep. So I'll only talk about the second.

Oh, I liked the continuation of Advance Adventure in the original, I like it in the dub.

TR was hardcore in this episode. Attacking humans again, eh?

James insulting James while blasting off is really getting old. >.>

Anabel said "my friend" in Engrish in the original, amirite? It sounds rather awkward in full English. :/ Maybe that's just me.

Lol, I love how they mentioned Scott wasn't around at first. XD Off stalking some other kid, perhaps?

That Gyarados is still as random as a Hellgar.

Oy, this is the beginning of Ash's need to throw himself in front of his battling Pokémon. Whee. >.>

Yeah, I think Anabel was Sarah as well.

I really liked her voice, it really fit with her tom boy look imo.

Three Jynx and a Baby: most boring episode all season. Even taking into account it had Jynx. The plot device is overdone like a burnt cake. Even the ending doesn't save it from being just as generic as episodes before it.

Talking a Good Game: @_@ Hoshit, Anabel's voice! It's like a well! And...um, damn. <.< I don't like her character. I'm neutral on the VA, but the character as a whole? Ugh.

arther in the episode:
....Wait, whut. <.< Well that was stupid. She hardly sounded like a boy. She sounded like an older woman. It didn't make the illusion at all. And the character got worse. Empathy and "telepathy"? No. <.<;;;

And....no. Bad. Ash running in to intercept Pikachu is a horrid thing for the writers to make him do. He hasn't done anything like that before, so WHY NOW?!

Right. *blacklists this episode from her rerun schedule* Tucker! Show Anabel how to make a Frontier Brain episode GOOD. Or hell, any of the other Brains before her.

Side note: ...And Maron wins. Of course, as unique name as that is, he's not the first with that name. @@

Also, anyone remember when everyone thought this episode would get banned in the US?
Yes, I remember that, Dogasu.

And I'm glad they didn't ban the Jynx episode.

"Three Jynx and a Baby" was a good title. Though, I have to agree with what everyone else said. The episode itself was pretty boring, even for me (Battle Frontier season and voice issue aside, I usually enjoy most Pokemon episodes).

And by the way, I thought Ash's line near the beginning sounded terrible, where he said something like, "Okay, now I'm really mad". I hated that scene. Oh dear god, that really made me cringe. It's like I keep saying, Sarah just can't get Ash's emotion right, and it shows.

TR was hardcore in this episode. Attacking humans again, eh?
Yeah, apparently.

Poor Ash. I wanted to hug him when I saw him hurt so badly. ;_;

And when I saw Team Rocket do that, I immediately thought of the episode "Current Events" from Johto League Champions (season 4). You know, that's the first time Team Rocket attacked Ash like that.

I didn't expect the writers would have that happen again. Team Rocket sent a Poison Tail right to Ash's back. Ouch, that must've hurt! And from the looks of it, Ash was in a lot of pain after that!

And in that one scene he sneezed. I wonder if getting hit with a strong Poison attack caused him to catch a cold or something?

Anyway, as for the battle, that was a very good one, and I had a feeling it would end like that. The battle wasn't in Ash's favor from the beginning. The way the episode ended was very interesting though. And I can't wait to see the next episode!

Oh, and I know that Ash would do anything to save Pikachu and stop it from getting hurt. But running in front of that Volt Tackle attack seemed a bit drastic, especially after what happened to him earlier (getting hit by Poison Tail). Was he still hurt from before, or had he completely recovered from the previous attack?

And another thing, how does he manage to keep getting back up after strong Pokemon attacks like those? He's incredible!! Pokemon attacks just don't phase him for some reason.

Anyway though, "Talking A Good Game" was a very good episode. I really enjoyed it!! It's one of the few Battle Frontier episodes I've actually liked (if I ignore the fact that I hate Ash's new voice, it allows me to enjoy the episodes more). I loved the scenes with Anabel communicating with the Beedril. And I really loved the part where she talked to Pikachu. That was awesome!! It was great the way she translated for Pikachu (Anabel: "It says you can be rash sometimes."). And also, there was a nice Pikashipping hint in that scene somewhere. I forget where exactly, but I know I saw a hint. I was like, "OMG! Pikashipping!". XD

Oy, this is the beginning of Ash's need to throw himself in front of his battling Pokémon. Whee. >.>
Beginning? You mean I'm gonna be seeing more of that with the next episodes?

Wow! Now that's intense!!

I mean, I know that the writers like giving Ash his Main Character Abuse (that's what I call this, whenever they make him get hurt badly). But that's just overdoing it, in my opinion.

If the writers aren't careful, they'll end up accidentally killing him one of these days. Unless, of course, it's canon that Ash is immortal. LOL. XD

Just kidding, I don't really know if that's true or not.

Aww, man. You beat me here! You're right. That episode was boring. I haven't seen so much...um..."not action" in a long time.

And is it just me or is Anabel really cool? Of course, I knew she was a chick from the beginning.

Yeah, it's weird.

Why do they always portray the boyish-girls that way?

It's obvious to us that she's a girl, but the characters on the show seem to have no idea.

Then again, in real life, I've seen some people I couldn't tell whether they were male or female. So I guess that does makes sense. ^^o

And by the way, I forgot to mention something in my review, Anabel's voice. Well, I don't know about everyone else, but I actually liked it. I thought she had a good voice. It seemed to fit her personality quite well.

Also, it doesn't surprise me one bit that Sarah Natochenny did her voice. It's weird. She seems to do great with female characters, but with a male character like Ash, her acting just isn't as good.

Anabel's voice was certainly very odd to me, I mean it wasn't a *bad* voice in the slightest - it just didn't fit her.

I like how Alakazam was kicking butt in that ep - reminded me of Sabrina's bullshit Kadabra hax. :p

Poor Tauros, though :(

BTW, nobody will get this, but:

MCZAM!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111111

Yeah, I felt sorry for Tauros. It didn't have much of a chance......

I didn't even know it was gonna make an appearence in today's episode. It was great to see it battle again!! ^_^

meh...the first episode was super boring. The Jinx had horrible voices (one of them sounded like a robot). The only part I liked was the blasting off segment, and TR fighting over the riceball.

The second episode was better, but I didn't think the animation was all that great. Compared to most of the other BF battles so far, I think it was a pretty boring battle, but then again it wasn't the REAL battle ^^, thats for next week. It was nice to see Ash get totally owned though; usually whenever Ash loses both he and his opponent go down to their last pokemon, this was a nice change. I'm pretty sure that Anabel was played by Sara too, and her acting was good most of the time but I didn't like the voice at all. She sounded like a woman in her twenties, not a young androgynous girl. There is no way that I could believe that the twerps couldn't figure out her gender, no guy sounds like that (unless they're Ross the Intern).

I agree with Rocketshipper. I liked Anabel's voice, but it really didn't fit the character. I missed the Jynx episode completely, and the second episode with Anabel really wasn't anything to write home about.
