Review S09 EP45: Pace - The Final Frontier!

When Pikachu used Volt Tackle on RegiIce...they replaced the background music. It was supposed to be the instrumental version of Advanced Advent rue...I think that's what it was, It's been a while since I've seen it...

Only two left~

This episode confirms the writers suck at writing good battles.

I also believe this animator was pissed at his low salary and took it out on the episode's animation. -_-

I wish pokemon was better. But its not.
Its pokemon.

That's what I said about the pronunciation of Regice. Bulba is awesome in this one. The excitement is not over yet, though.

Good that it's pronounced like it should.

And to answer a question from the previous review thread:

Is it just me, or did SarAsh out-emotion VeronicAsh in this episode?

After watching both episodes, you're not the only one 0_0

She's always been a little more forceful with he lines, which is good because Veronica showed little of that in Advance Battle. (And trust me, Lisa. No matter how much you deny it, I noticed this). She needs to voice Ash when he shouts like he's serious. Veronica just shouted with little change of tone in her voice. Sarah, though. That's what it should be (To SOME extent)

As for the episode, I enjoyed it. Really intense battle and I'm glad Ash finally won that battle.

....Volt Tackle is such a hax on the writers' part. As is Pikachu if he can unfreeze himself without Flamewheel (or Fire Spin?). Oh well.

You know, I remember when I read things on Brandon's pokémon. ....Nobody mentioned Ninjask (Zoppi, you suck -_-) or Solrock, so that was a 'wait, wtf' moment but ultimately ignorable.

Hah, Brandon's such a n00b, having two Ice-type moves. *snicker* Kidding, though WHY Superpower was not a showcased move is beyond me. All three Regi know it, but did any of them use it? Nuuuu~ Focus Punch? LAME.

Yeah, what was with Solrock sounding like Noctowl?

Reg-ice?

Well, that's how the name looks

:phew: So glad they corrected that!

The excitement is not over yet, though.

Yeah, because next week we're going to see May's Combusken evolve into the fiery chicken of DOOM known as Blaziken. And the week after that, we'll be seeing ELECTRIVIRE!! :yahoo:  :7up:

Good episode. Both dubbing wise and in the original.

Pikachu taking out Regice all by itself was a bit iffy, but nothing too out of the ordinary.

It may not have been the best battle ever, but it was a good one to go out on for the Battle Pyramid.

Next week: Ash and May have their final battle together with their Hoenn starters, followed by the return of Gary and Ash's first battle with him since the Johto league!

Scott, we know already. I can't wait! Those eps owned in Japan and they'll own even more here. I can't wait to see what they use as an alternative to Rika's Mezase 2001.

I hate the title of this episode. It makes no sense at all.

Meh fairly average battle episode. The animation wasn't too great, and Pikachu's win over Regice was a little hard to believe. I guess one volt tackle could have won the match for Ash from the beginning, since Regice was back to full strenght by the time it got hit by it. It's sort of an anti-climcactic end to this saga, especially compared to the final battle of the last filler saga (Ash vs Drake). Ash has just managed to defeat a string of seven trainers said to be "almost as powerful as the elite 4" include one with legendarys, and now we just go on as if nothing has happened. Seems like by now Ash should have gained a reputation with other trainers for his accomplishments, I wish we'd see more stuff like what happened at the beginning of the Battle Dome or with that Nurse Joy a few episodes ago.

"The Final Frontier" the Battle Pyramid is the FINAL facility in the Battle FRONTIER.

They probably kept it so it can look similar to 'Space, the final frontier'. Other than that I don't know...unless they're using pace like...a slow pace, as in...Satoshi's slow getting to the battle where he would finally win aganist Jindai.

I don't think its as a problem right here, but it definitely throws you for a loop since Ash's losing streak starts right after this. (Well, not during the Ash/May episode but during the Gary battle and into D/P)

Its especially odd to see Pikachu take down Regice here and then lose to Shinji's Elekid of all Pokemon in D/P.

I thinks its amusing how the writers suddenly decide that Ash has been winning too much lately, and he gets quite a number of losses from the last AG episode up to the first Gym.

He hasn't had that many losses...per say...

Vs. Gary: Well, Electivire looks VERY strong, and it's effect.
Vs. Shinji Pt. 1: Well, I do see this...Starly losing wasn't cheap really, but Elekid beating Pikachu was odd...
Vs. Shinji Pt. 2: Turtwig, a newly caught guy, vs Chimchar I think this lost was perfectly fair, and Turtwig almost won.
Vs. Nozomi: Well, Aipom isn't that powerful, and Ash isn't use to Contest.
Vs. Hyota: Ash definately didn't have his mind on this 100%.

Hmm. A baby Elekid that evolves at level 30 versus Pikachu, which has to be like level 60 atleast. Probably higher. That's just wierd.
This episode was ok for me, I would have preferred it if they spent more time on the animation however.
