*cue complaining about Ash Pokedex'ing Suicune*

This is about the third time Ash sees Suicune, correct?
 
But it's been years, of course he'll scan it again.

This Nurse Joy thing just got more confusing.
 
Nice commentary by Dawn, yes. This ep seemed really plain to me, although Mini-Joys are amusing.
 
The episode seemed interesting for a filler. We got Suicune and mini-Joys. And Joy's husband? He was a big fella. Brock couldn't put the moves on Mrs. Joy. Lulz.
 
Somewhat unrelated, I thought the older Joy daughter's (didn't catch her name) voice sounded very similar to Alice's voice in movie 10. I think she'd be the best choice to voice her in the US version.
 
And being married saves yet one more from Brock's devotion. ...Marine and Nurse Joy's initial entrance just...made my day. ^_^;; "Game over," indeed.

Paige Francis Lynnelle Joy.

Now Paige sounds fine. o_O But with that 'pretty' ensemble of middle names, is 'Marnie' really fitting? Sounds more like a nickname. Ah, either way. And daddy's name was Karsten.
 
So Joy is their last name... but wouldn't they have their father's last name? Maybe when it comes to Joys, the woman's name dominates? :p

Hi there, random Suicune in Sinnoh.

Nice to see Valley Windworks in the anime. So I'm guessing the dad and the older Joy girl (what was her name? Marina? EDIT: Ah, Marine. EDIT 2: Oooor Marnie.) are supposed to be the father and daughter from the game. No Team Galactic in sight, though.

Speaking of evil teams, TR was barely in this ep.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I got a somewhat shippy vibe from Ash and the Marnie at the end there... o.o

Hooray, Drifloon! Boo, they hardly did anything! I was hoping that we were going to have a story about the underworld thing at first judging by the opening thingy. XD

I love the part where Ash says something like "Don't worry, it's okay!" and then falls. :D Poor Ash.

It was an okay episode. *nod*

Coincidence? Maybe... But we needed a Paige!

Yes, this would be Ash's third time seeing Suicune in the anime. The first time was, "Don't Touch That 'Dile" and the second time was in "For Ho-oh The Bells Toll".

However, in the other episodes and previous times when it appeared, Ash didn't bring his Pokedex out to scan Suicune. So this is the first time he's actually scanned the legendary Pokemon (though, then again, he looked up Suicune in his Pokedex to get information about it - I'm not sure if that's the same thing as seeing the Pokemon and scanning it).


But anyway, I'm confused about something. Why didn't Ash mention having seen a Suicune before? O.O

If he didn't mention it in the Japanese version, then I'm guessing it's just a case of the writers forgetting something important in continuity, yet again....



Overall, I enjoyed this episode. Drifloon was cute! And I loved seeing Suicune!! ^_^


And of course, I liked meeting Paige too.

Is it just me, or did Paige seem to be interested in Ash? I mean, did she have a crush on him or something? I swear she had a funny line in that one scene, where everyone was eating. And I think Ash was embarrassed by it or something. But I forgot what she said.


Anyway, voice-wise, this was a good episode for Sarah. She seems to have improved somewhat. In my opinion, her Ash voice and the acting seemed pretty good throughout the first half.

However, during the more dramatic parts of the episode - I noticed a lack of emotion from Sarah. So apparently, she still can't perform Ash's emotions correctly (well, not to my expectations anyway). *sighs*

And is it wrong that I had creepy thoughts when Marnie, I believe, said they will grow up to be Nurse Joys too, and Brock said "I'm sure you will be great..."., or something like that?

I'm not really seeing any Ash/Marnie. Random stare into the sunset and a shot of them walking alongside each other, when he's spent more time with Paige, does not a moment make. It seemed more like a 'this is what we share, as two who know best; it will make us grow, we are safe, Paige is safe; time to go home' significance, regarding Suicune.

At the same time. o_O Not seeing Ash/Paige either.


And can I mention the end was random and unnecessary? x_X I'm all for episodes that end with, "Where's TR?", but that was...the heck?
 
When does this episode come on? According to CN's schedule, their having a marathon of season 1 episodes today. I didn't see this new episode anywhere.
 
9:30AM. Yeah, a pretty bad timeslot. I usually like sleeping in on Saturdays...
 
Pokemon airs too early. I wish it was on at 10am like KidsWb used to do. That was a good timeslot.
 
This episode was so nostalgic for me, just because it seemed so much like an episode straight out of Johto. I dunno why. Maybe because it was nothing but dub music? Like, I think there might have been one piece left in tact. ;____;

I don't know, it was pretty good, it's just . . it was too much of a filler, so yeah.

All though, I guess Ash seeing Suicune isn't really a filler o.o

I doubt the writers would forget something that big.
 
What difference does it make whether or not he mentioned seeing one before?
 
Uh, it doesn't really....

But I thought it would've been interesting if they had brought it up again, just to acknowledge the fact.


Oh well, Suicune didn't seem to be the focus of the episode anyway, it was more about Nurse Joy's family. ^^

EDIT: Also, I noticed that everyone (except for Ash and Paige) was pronouncing Suicune wrong. I mean, they said it with more emphasis on the "cune" part or something.
