Review S10 EP45: Ill-Will Hunting!

Yeah, this thread should be in the Anime forum.

Anyway, it's a pretty good episode so far. ^^

My thoughts thus far...

-Gary always brings out the absolute WORST in Ash. But dang, Gary sure has matured. He's changed a lot from his being followed by cheerleader days
-Jessie thinking a security camera was a movie camera? Woah. Dumber than advertised.
-'And end to all your bad stuff' *laughs at how vague that line sounds*
-And Gary has the 'no word can end in G' syndrome too? I don't know why that irks me so much, but it does.
-Where was Pikachu when Ash was under the car with Gary?
-Deathly afraid of one Jenny? Man..those Jenny must be more bad-ass than I realized.
-Gary praising Ash. It's so strange! I mean I guess I can see it, but it's kinda crazy
-Dawn has issues. Haha.

Alright. Overall a decent episode. Gary is almost a little too super nice in my opinion, but it's still believable. They tried to make it really dramatic with the beginning, but it wasn't quite that dramatic overall.

Sorry, I saw the episode review/preview thing, I thought this was it. And I was gonna post this in the Anime too.

Well, for the episode, I am a huge fan of Gary, because he is awesome.

I'm curious on what Hunter Jay turns the pokemon into, it looks like chocolate.

Starvia near the end of the episode sounded too high pitch, if you listened closely

Sheldon are my favorite fossil Pokemon, though I would have picked a different voice.

Is it just me, or does the man Hunter J was hunting the Sheildon for seem more evil than her?

Does anyone even know anymore that Proffesor Oak is a famous proffesor anymore, and not just a poet. They should have seen him in the first/second generation

Chocolate? *giggles* I thought Bronze or something like that, but chocolate is funny.

Go, Gary, go. He's still the clever one. Hunter J still proves to be one tough opponent. Dawn expecting poetry from Gary. XD And then thinking he actually did one.

My quick run-down of things I noticed.

- Is it just me or did the person J was working for look a little like Prof. Rowan? I think it might have been his brother or something.

- Gary does seem to have matured a lot.

- Drapion seemed kind of useless in this ep, in my opinion. It used what, 2 attacks in the entire ep?

- Is it just me or has Electivire grown? It seems to be like 6 ft tall.

- Sheldon didn't really do anything in this ep besides falling off a cliff. Lame.

- I agree that Jessie was dumber than usual this ep.

It wasn't a very exciting episode; Mr. Narrator as the contractor was a surprise (but so was the mystery of his identity). o.o That Golbat trainer still rocks the boat though; he have a name yet? *doesn't have CC for another two weeks* And the afro-grunt...I dunno. I think it's kinda cool they aren't really faceless grunts.

I'm sure the Palletshippers are happy, though. ^^;

As useless as the featured pokemon were, I'm rather surprised that guy wanted one so bad. Is that all they are ... pokemon with big foreheads?

Anyway, I continue to like Hunter J. I like to think she's Domino's relative. I know she's 99.9% not, but ... a girl can dream ... sigh .... She's what J&J most likely were before they met Ash.

Nice to see Gary again. I told my brother as we watched that I bet he has an umbreon ever since Mewtwo handed him his ass. I thought all the lecturing to Ash about recklessness seemed a little hypocritical, since Gary wasn't exactly known for anything but boasting. Yeah, he had more talent than Ash, but he could still be under the same vices that Ash was. At least, Gary seems to be maturing though. Shame he matures more offscreen than Ash does in front of the camera.

When the explosions aboard the armored vehicle happened, I was thinking it was J&J attacking, as it's usually their thing to frustrate "real" bad guys. I guess Gary and Ash wouldn't have anything to do then, though.

I liked the episode, but Gary... man, he certainly has changed.

They should have had him etch "ASH IS A LOSER" into Mt. Coronet just for old times sake.

I also approve of Wobbuffet in this episode, he was very amusing :)

Nice to see Gary's still Gary after all this time. I still like his Umbreon.

Those Shieldon rule. I wish I'd at least seen one attack from them though.

Dawn needs to let go of that poetry thing.

This was a very good episode! ^_^

And for the most part, I really enjoyed it.

First of all, it was great to see Gary again. And I agree with everyone who said that Gary has matured. He has indeed matured, and I could tell that. And for the record, I like his new personality. I don't him being close friends with Ash (however, I do not support Palletshipping).

But anyway, my favorite scene in this episode, would of course be the part where Ash walked through the smoke and grabbed the Sheildon. I love it when Ash does heroic things!! :crush:

And come to think of it, I was quite surprised to see Gary acknowledge the fact that it was really Ash and his "bravery and quick actions" which saved the Sheildon. That was a nice thing for Gary to say. :)

Oh, and I also liked the animation in this episode. Everything looked so cool! And of course, the story was really great. Hunter J does a good job at keeping everyone scared, panicked, and worried all the time! XD

Anyway, the only thing that bothered me about this episode was how Ash's voice was very high-pitched (I can't be the only one who noticed this). And if I am the only one, then I'm sorry that I said anything.

Oh, and by the way, I didn't care much for the music in this episode. I mean, it seemed to me like Pokemon USA's music was used during most of the episode. So I would've preferred it if they had either used more Japanese music, or if they had gone with 4Kids music instead.

I still don't understand what is so bloody great about J. >_>

Simple, she's the recurring bad guy you love to hate. She does what she does well, more so than any other villain team or henchman featured in Pokemon's recent history. A well built antagonist is just what Pokemon needed and J fills that archetype well.

Why is it that Gary uses Electivire, Blastoise and Umbreon, yet the only Pokémon Ash uses is Pikachu? What happened to Aipom and Turtwig?

Blastoise using Water Gun in the beginning made me wonder what happened to its Hydro Pump. We find out later he still has it along with a Hydro Cannon.

It would've been nice to see what the negotiator looked like.

Dawn, that was not a poem Gary said to Ash at the end of the episode.

HA Dawn thought Gary did a poeome at the end, she really needed to stop that. I was like No Dawn just becuase he's the grandson of Profeser Oak does not mean he does poetry like him. I was seriously annoyed and confused how she came to that conclusion about that ending. Even Ash and Brock were confused about what she meant LOL LOL. The animation was nice and Hunter J rocked like always, I really hope she returns agian. Jessie wasn't that smart this episode. Is it me or has she been getting stupid as the episodes go on? The last episode with the mispelling of the Pokemon each time she said it and now this...Awe well. Gary was fun this episode, but as some one said it would have been nice if Gary said some thing to bring back the old times. Any who I give it a 9/9.
