So there's a maze and stuff. All right.

My notes:

Meowth as the photographer is adorable. And weird.

They used the "end of episode" music about three minutes in.

Wait, is that the Pichu Bros music I hear?

You know, I really miss the eyecatches. Even just a short one would be nice.

Wait...does Buizel have a different voice? I remember it being higher pitched than this.

I know that they weren't, but the flowers the pokemon are eating look edited in.

So they went through all that just to get one of the more useless applications?

I thought this episode was amusing! I liked it when Team Rocket refered to themselves as Ash Dawn and Brock's- Friends from the Dark side!

Friggin' loved it. There's something about "the group gets split up" episodes that I just can't help but love every time. Maybe it's because the whole cast usually gets their moments, big or small. This one's actually better than most because it really was the whole cast aqnd not just the twerps and their most marketable Pokémon. Of course, the D/P crew's so cool I guess all of them are marketable, huh? XP

I was not expecting a random Paul appearance! I thought they were going to have something like "he's going to catch Onix and save the twerps unintentionally!" but instead they went with "Paul's getting pissed off at all these twerps popping up". Haha, I wanna see more of Paul in comedic situations.

There were a ton of amusing little moments. I like Pikachu, Buneary, and Happiny forming a little pretend family the most. Croagunk being a badass and saving a frightened Dawn from Onix would probably take second place.

Oh, noticed the plot screwup. Croagunk destroying a wall to escape Onix, and then later having to keep beating at another wall while everyone else pounds on it in order to break it.

It was an alright episode, it was better than I thought it would be.

Dawn and Croagunk were a very mismatched pair, it was amusing to see them together. Pikachu and Buneary were adorable together, she must have been on cloud nine in this episode :p

On the downside, Ash pulled his "meh @ everyone I just want Pikachu again", saying how bad it was he was seperated from Pikachu, yet not acknowledging Dawn or Brock or even his other Pokemon. I really don't like when he does that, I know he's attached to Pikachu, but he has other friends too that care for him probably just as much as Pikachu.

Lastly, the episode could have done without Paul. Then again, I'm one of the people who feel the season as a whole could do without him.

I liked how when Dsh imagined Dawn getting hurt and saying "No need to worry!", he magically said "That's when i worry the most!"

It's an awesome episode. Music was better than usual. Ash and co. are probably the most gullible people ever. I mean, "just put all your Pokemon in the center"?

Also, we get a Poketch ap that we'll never see again. Hooray.

If Happiny can just lift a boulder like that, why couldn't he/she/it just break the wall open?

Is the mountain really that large, if TR can fly around it in about 10 seconds?

Gone are the days when it takes them several months to get through a forest.

"I'm putting in end to all your bad stuff!"

Hunter J is awesome!

Am I allowed to comment on the VA's, since I haven't watched an English episode in like 1.5 months?

Yup. That was win for me.

I was not expecting a Paul appearance at all in this episode. Wonder what happened to him in the end. Did he ever catch that Fearow?

And what were Pikachu and the others eating anyway?

They were pretending to eat flowers. You know, like playing house?

Actually, we do see that worthless thing again. So at least the writers actually remember she has it.

This was an ok episode. It was nice to see all the Pokemon get some focus for once, and it's always nice seeing Paul. :) I highly doubt they'll use him for comic relief again considering what happens in a few episodes, so it was nice the writers used him for that while they still could.

I'm glad PUSA kept the Advance Adventure instrumental, I always enjoy hearing that.

Now that I saw the right episodeee....

Is it just me, or do the D/P Pokemon that Ash and crew own have much more personality and identity than any previous generation (I mean in general - I know some Pokemon from previous generations had more personality than some now). The way a lot of them were acting actually made me lol a little, and that rarely happens with me and Pokemon.

Also, why is Happiny so strong? First I see it lift a Quagsire and run around with it, then it lifts a boulder.

I think the writing has improved. I was thinking "Why would they break a wall? Isn't that vandalism?" and then James says the same thing. I thought this episode was actually well-done.

The background animation is so much better now, but the cell animation still sucks bad. Why can't they spend more time drawing each of the characters and the Pokemon? It looks so sloppy sometimes.

Because Pocket Monsters is one of the most low-budget anime on the air at the moment.

Last time I checked, backgrounds aren't animated and cel animation died years ago.
The animation itself has definately improved, and this is even with the series more mediocre animation directors. This episode in particular was handled by one of, if not the best they have, so if you're insinuating that slopiness was an issue in this episode, even in terms of artwork, then...well, I just don't know what to say.

Not really. Turtwig has virtually no personality at all and completely sucks compared to Bulbasaur/Chikorita/Treecko.

Ash's Pokemon in AG, aside from Swellow, have more personality than his D/P counterparts so far. Staravia has a personality, which is rare for a flying type, so that puts it ahead of Swellow.

As much as it goes against my very nature to say so, it doesn't have a personallity. A lot of brilliantly quirky and amusing moments perhaps, but outside one or two brief moments, what else is there?
