Review S11 EP05: Bibarel Gnaws Best!

That would be funny! XD

And I hope this will be a good episode! Bibarel's a cute Pokemon, at least. XD

Although, last week's episode will be hard to top, that's for sure.

I love filler episodes though, so chances are, I'm gonna like this episode too. ^^

I missed the beginning of this. This just seems to be your standard filler, although the engineer was fun to see.

Well, this episode really didn't impress me that much.

I found the way that Engineer was almost afraid of that little guy to be pretty funny.

Also bravo for the first Boss fantasy in the season. It seemed a bit illogical to build a castle as opposed to a high-tech building.

So great animators for not so good episode.

I saw some sceens where Chimchar was oddly animated, but other then that it seemed like a pretty decent filler. The construction dude made me lol.

^ Iwane always draws Chimchar in a special way. Just look at the end of Glory Blaze and compare it to the beginning of Smells like team spirit(Iwane).

Meh. The episode itself wasn't that great, but there's been worse filler.

PUSA is back to six pieces of music ~_~ (EDIT: Did I say six? I mean eight) On a lighter note, Dan Green was the construction worker, and they've won another convert - Isis was played by Bella Hudson, who's not only done voices for 4Kids as Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece) and Mai Valentine (Yu-Gi-Oh!), but also was Nurse Joy in Pokemon Advance. I wonder if they'll use her from now on?

Seems like they slowly but steady are getting all the old va's back (except for main cast).

Really? I wonder if those two decided to quit too. =/

I wondered why "Frank's" voice sounded so familiar. =P

Wow, Chimchar looked ugly as hell when it came out of its ball.

"Frank"? *misses the joke*

Okay, seriously. Turn up the Arceusdamn volume of the music.

This episode failed to make me like Bibarel. Not that I dislike the thing, but usually the anime manages to increase my liking toward a Pokémon. Not Bibarel.

Ah, another Breeder. And a reference to a training facility. Guess they're trying to put more focus on that aspect of Pokémon, huh?

Eh, the only good part about this episode is Brock, what with his girl-craziness. Croagunk saving him from falling and Happiny carrying all those stones was great.

Yawn. Worst episode of DP Battle Dimension so far. What ep's next week? *goes to look at an episode list*

Seriously, I don't notice a decrease in volume at all. Might just be me, but I don't notice it. =/

Frank...I don't know, ask Habu about it. He made it.

You think that's bad, wait till the Luxray one airs. I found it really boring and formulaic. Not to mention there were hardly any pokemon. Next week's episode is the Probopass one. It's better than todays episode IMO.

This stream of fillers is actually really starting to get to me...

Only a few episodes until Solaceon Ruins, and that episode and the contest episode following it are pretty freakin' awesome.

I remember when they came out in Japan I was really waiting for the Zui/Solaceon contest but getting extremely discouraged by the endless barrage of fillers, because Kengo is a really cool dude.

The fillers after the contest aren't so bad... Let's see how the writers decide to handle those.
Miltank Maid Cafe and Yumomi (even though she's kind of bland) and Gligar-capture make for some action before SatoshiVSumomo

Bella Hudson was Nurse Joy in Pokemon Advanced? Wow, I had no idea! O.O

I thought that voice sounded a bit familiar.

And yeah, I figured the construction worker was voiced by Dan Green, heh. XD

Does this mean Pokemon USA has no problem using VAs from 4Kids? It definitely appears that way. And personally, I'm really hoping this is true! ^^

This was a good episode, but it just wasn't very entertaining. It didn't have enough Ash scenes for me. XD

I was surprised that this episode was Brock centered! But of course, that's a good thing because there aren't too many episodes that focus on Brock. ^^

I liked the construction guy, he was hilarious when he was yelling and stuff! XD And I really liked Bibarel! It had an interesting attitude, lol.

My favorite thing about this episode was the BGM they used. They played one of my favorite songs, Ash's theme! ^_^

I also liked how they used D/P battle BGM and that route song at the end.

Going back to the voice acting, well, I thought Bill Rogers did a very good job! There were a couple times in this episode where he sounded similar to Eric Stuart's Brock! =D

As for Sarah Natochenny, this was a bad episode for her. I'd even say this is her worst D/P episode so far. This could've been because Ash didn't have very many lines, or it might have been because Sarah simply used her boring, generic Ash voice. But either way, I personally thought Sarah was horrible in this episode. X_X

On the positive side, Sarah did have a few Ash lines that were Veronica-ish. One line actually sounded VERY close to Veronica's Ash! I liked that line! :)

But overall, in future episodes, I hope that Sarah will begin to sound more like Veronica. It would be nice if she could actually be a sound-alike for one entire episode. But mostly, all I'm hoping for right now, is that Sarah will perform her Ash voice using just the right pitch. That, and it would be great if she could work on her pronunciation too.

Seems like they slowly but steady are getting all the old va's back (except for main cast).
If that really is what Pokemon USA's doing, hiring everyone BUT the original cast, then I would say that's pretty darn messed up and sad.... =(

I mean, that just isn't fair to the original cast.

But, since Pokemon USA could get Dan Green so easily, this pretty much proves there's nothing preventing them from hiring the original VAs now (except the new cast, of course).

And you know, this whole thing makes no sense to me. Especially considering how Jimmy Zoppi and Kayzie Rogers both knew about the job offer to work on Mastermind/Season 9. However, the original cast was completely ignored by Pokemon USA! It just seems like the original VAs were screwed over, in my opinion.

Is anyone else bothered by this, even a little? Or is it just me?

For the record, it doesn't matter if I'm the only one who feels this way. But I'm curious, so I just had to ask about it. ^^;

The episode was pretty entertaining; at least the big guy seemed unique. But what was with Bibarel? Doesn't the lack of bottom face fins mean it's a girl?

Sheesh, you want Rogers to sound like Stuart? Puh-leaze. I mean, before AG, Stuart ranged great to good, but Rogers is already better than how Stuart ultimately ended up.

As for Bella Hudson, it's just getting more and more intriguing. Though I'll just say it now, I doubt she'll be taking back the Joy role; Knotz already does a comparable job, and I don't think they'll rock the boat any more than they need to. That likely goes for all the characters who've already been recast, so if, say, Prof. Birch were to come back, it's likely Green could take the role again, but not Hudson and Joy.

Uh, its only 4 fillers. That's barely anything. If you can't survive that, I don't know how you got through the Johto saga when we had like 15 fillers in a row before anything of importance happened.

At least the Spiritomb episode last week was great.

Anyone notice how... neat Machoke and Machamp were when they ate Brock's food? They seem like the type of Pokémon that would dump the whole thing in its mouth at once! :p

Well, for one thing, keep in mind that I support all the original cast members. You see, just because I talk about Veronica Taylor all the time, that doesn't mean I don't like the rest of the cast as well.

And as for Eric Stuart's Brock, personally, I always thought he was great. He ALWAYS made me laugh during the scenes when he hits on girls! XD And all of Stuart's regular Brock lines sounded fine to me. I never had any problems with Brock's voice whatsoever. =O

So I don't know what you mean, Pitch. However, all I've been hearing lately, is that people didn't like Brock's voice in Advanced, Advanced Challenge, and Advanced Battle for some reason. But honestly, I can't even tell a difference between Brock's voice in the Hoenn seasons and his voice in the Johto seasons. It sounds almost exactly the same to me, and there's not much of a difference at all.

As for Bella Hudson, it's just getting more and more intriguing. Though I'll just say it now, I doubt she'll be taking back the Joy role; Knotz already does a comparable job, and I don't think they'll rock the boat any more than they need to.
Yeah, I agree with you.

Knotz' voice for Nurse Joy sounds close enough to Hudson's voice that it really wouldn't matter whether or not Hudson gets to voice Nurse Joy again.

Alhough, if they allow her to voice Nurse Joy again, that would make me happy! XD

That likely goes for all the characters who've already been recast, so if, say, Prof. Birch were to come back, it's likely Green could take the role again, but not Hudson and Joy.
That's good to know that if Professor Birch comes back, Dan Green might actually voice hime again! ^^

Thank goodness Pokemon USA is finally bringing back some of the familiar voices. I missed all of the 4Kids VAs. All of them did an outstanding job, in my opinion (not just the original cast).

Also, when I think about how many voice actors Pokemon USA lost, back when they had that personal issue about not using any 4Kids VAs (aside from Jimmy and Kayzie), it baffles me how the company could manage to pull off two seasons with such a small cast of VAs. They didn't even have enough people working who were able to do good character-of-the-day voices.

So yeah, I'm really glad they're bringing some VAs back! It's about time!! ^_^

On the other hand though, if they actually manage to hire every single 4Kids VA except for the original cast - that part would definitely make me upset. But of course, this is to be expected of me, given my fan-campaign and all, lol.
