Dammit, they ruined the pun in the title.

Time to see how He of the Incredibly Controversial Japanese Voice is dubbed--faithful to his Japanese voice or to his gender. Because people will be mad either way.

Saturn has an interesting voice. The Arceus plates...specifically the ones for Water, Steel, and Dragon (Dialga and Palkia's types). They made Ambipom sound just like Aipom. Pretty interesting ep.

So...Dawn manages to teach Aipom a whole new move without knowing it?

Kenny's incredibly badly acted. It's really stilted. Also, damn, speaking of males with unquestionably female voices...although at least he's younger than Saturn, so he can get away with it to a greater extent.

Boy, it sure took them a moment to get what Kenny said about Dialga and Palkia.

WHAT THE FUCK SATURN. OK, I sure wasn't seeing THAT type of voice coming. It's like...almost as nasal as Prof Sebastian.

LOL at reading the Unown, which is clearly spelling out Japanese words.

What's with the random CGI on the Coin Toss app?

When Kenny asks if Turtwig knows Bullet Seed, Ash looks incredibly confused, but he basically only says no, without confusion.

Those look incredibly small for Arceus's plates.

Saturn's voice isn't nearly as nasal as it was in the beginning of the episode. But it's still really overdramatic.

The Unown sound different than they always did before. They're singing a different tune in a different scale.

Oh man...Saturn got really bad direction. Who told his VA "overemphasize everything"? "The SPEEEAR PIL-LAR!"

Ash does something logical? WHAT NOW? For that matter, Kenny's the only one reacting as one would in that situation...although Ash and Brock I can see since they've been in Unown's world before, but Dawn is entirely too calm for that.

So...up is what you make of it? Like in the Tamers-verse Digital World (which, by the way, seems to be the location for movie 11)?

That's an awfully modern looking building for "ruins". It also looks awfully well kept-up.

The forest TR runs into looks strange. It gets suddenly dark and foreboding for no apparent reason.

Now I actually enjoyed this episode!
I disagree, you see I really like Ambipom's dub voice! She actually sounds like a monkey!
Anyway my favorite part was when Happiny used her super strength!

PRAISE THE FUCKING LORD!!!!!

Saturn got a male voice. And a tolerable one at that. =)

Kenny's voice is crappy today. I thought it was pronounced BREEloom not breh-loom
Didn't 4Kids pronounce it the same way? Btw I ain't saying because they said it like that makes it right, infact it'll be the other way round...I think.

Damn you people, you're really making me want to hear Amibpom's dub voice.

Maybe. I've never heard a human pronounce Breloom so I didn't know. Ambipom makes Kenny sound as good as Steve Blum. Awful voice. They didn't even keep the monkey sounds. I'm glad she doesn't get many lines after next week.

OOH so the "bre" comes from umBRElla! So that would make more sense.

No monkey sounds? That no good, I liked the monkey sounds.

But my opinion on Ambipom's voice may be different from everyone else's.

What was the title Team Rocket gave Team Galactic - upon not knowing what they were really called - in the dub? In the Japanese version it was "those guys with great fashion". Or did they (Team Rocket) not call them (Team Galactic) anything at all?

I found it wierd how Kenny was a little jealous of Dawn's coin-flip apt. It's just a lousy coin toss, you could the same thing without the need of a watch and some money.

Also, Bronzor's voice sounded a little too deep. I always imagined it with a lighter voice, or at least the one from movie 10.

They just called them "Team Galactic". Which kinda ruins things. But Jesse called them that when she first noticed them.
That's too bad, I had this small feeling they would've messed it up and done that. They done a similar thing with Paul having him call Ash by name when in the original version he never does so. Oh well no use fussing around, we can't do anything about it anyway.

Ah, this was a pretty good episode!

Although, once again Ash's battle with Kenny is interrupted. It's weird how the writers keep doing that. ^^;

Heh, I laughed at how Kenny wants Ash to keep it a secret from Dawn (that Kenny freaked out back there). LOL. XD

Also, during the battle between Ash and Kenny, I could've sworn that I heard Kenny use the word "badass" back there, when he was saying something about Turtwig. XD

Anyway, at the end of the episode, I thought it was strange how Meowth wouldn't explain to Ash what Piplup said back there. I mean, this time Meowth didn't translate everything that was said. He just summed it up. =(

Oh yeah, and I really liked the music that they used in this episode. It seems like they kept a lot of Japanese music! ^_^

As for the voices, they were actually pretty good. I was surprised at how Saturn's voice was very similar to Professor Sebastian's voice. Do you think it's the same VA?

I also liked the voice of the other two people from Team Galactic.

About Sarah, I thought she sounded best at the beginning of this episode. She had a lot of Veronica-ish lines there! So yeah, I thought she did a good job at the beginning. But as usual, she changed the pitch of her voice during the middle of the episode. And come to think of it, it's weird how she changes the pitch of her Ash voice, mid-episode. o.o

However, on a positive note, I did like the scene where Ash explained to Kenny that he shouldn't be scared, because it would effect his Pokemon. I really think Sarah did a good job with that scene! I mean, Ash definitely could've used more emotion during that scene, but the actual delivery of the lines was good, at least. ^^

No more than usual. Only five pieces were kept - the Sinnoh battle music during the cold opening, Dawn's theme during her training of Aipom, the battle music during Turtwig vs. Breloom, the music when Aipom evolved, and the end of episode music. Everything else was American-made, as far as I could tell. There was one spot where Dawn used her Pokedex on Unown and they didn't play the Pokedex theme, but I couldn't hear the piece itself that well.

So the dub kept about 40%. Next week, being a contest episode, has more "familiar" tunes so hopefully it'll keep a decent amount of music.

Ambipom's voice SUCKS. All it said in the Japanese version was "Eba!" so wtf? Apparently it's voiced by Marc Thompson (a former 4Kids VA) too, so double wtf? By contrast, I thought Saturn's voice was alright - he's voiced by Tom Wayland.

I was somewhat surprised that they kept Aipom making a pentagram out of Swift. If this were a 4Kids episode, that would've been cut right out of there. Then someone would make a really awful pun, and it'd cut into a rap opening.

Ambipom is Marc Thompson? Didn't he play Attila to Veronica's Hun back in Legend of Thunder?

Ambipom's voice wasn't really that bad. Neither was Saturn's, but I preferred it when he was a trap. His dub voice would have been good for Cyrus.

Good episode.
