Sounds kinda like Rebecca Soler is Leona. John Campbell is definitely her dad, and Kayzie Rogers is her mom and, of course, the Swinub.

EDIT: Ah, Soler used her Kappa Mikey name, Evelyn Lanto. But WHY was Campbell uncredited AGAIN?!

I knew someone named Leeona(sp?) and no one liked her. D;

Someone needs to slap a "LOL BFF POWAH" on one of the screens in the flashback.

Huh, that's odd. Misty was relatively ashamed of seeing Ash in the hotspring in that old episode back, (a gender-separated one) but I remember her wearing a swimsuit as in this one...I think. wtfMisty

During the motto, Jessie had her back to us, topless. This should've been ripe for edits, but they didn't.
 
How long has it been since we've seen a TR robot? Feels like forever.

Meowth's Boss fantasy seemed a bit...disturbing.

I liked how Jessie actually asked for proof that the water was stolen.

Kinoshita is actually becoming a bit better.

so did Dawn get her No Need to Worry phrase from that girl?

TR's portrait scenes were pretty funny. Not to mention their disguises were good too.

When was the last time we've seen Mime.Jr at all, much less doing anything other than being in the motto.

I'm starting tro wonder why they call Dawn Dee Dee.

Getting a bit tired of the guitar theme that plays every single episode.

Was that a variant of the Hikari Theme played in the Hot Springs.
 
Did Leona said anything about being a gym challenger like Ash? I remember I thought that's what she said but no one wanted to check if I was right
 
I think if they ever reveal "Pikaris" origin, the dub will probably make her last name start with a D to explain DeeDee.
I don't usually discuss voice acting, but Sarah was pretty good in this one
 
there were lots of BFF flashbacks. The plot was pretty predictble except tor the battle at the end. The battle part ending was a suprise (it looked like dawn's tag team was going to win but they tied).
 
It makes me wonder if the writers really have something interesting planned with Dawn's nickname or if its just something so silly we're going to roll our eyes at it when we find out.

Something tells me the writers are making it up as they go along too.

Anyway, I don't know why the writers couldn't just have had Dawn capture a Swinub in this episode. Why bother to make this ep about Swinub, which is pretty useless, if you're going to have her capture a Swinub about 15 episodes later anyway?

Yep.

Like I said when the episode first aired, this is one of those times we should all be glad Team Rocket is still on the show. Without them this episode would have been complete crap. I'm surprised the whole thing was unedited.

I don't get why PUSA didn't have Leona say she was called back home from battling gyms at the beginning instead of babbling to her Swinub about nothing.

Has Wooper's voice always been left alone, or did PUSA just feel like not dubbing it this time?

With so many other plots that feel planned out, I doubt they're just making up the nickname thing as they go along.

Wow, we're really that close to the Japanese version? I wouldn't be surprised if PUSA ends up being like 5 episodes away from the raw soon.

Maybe because we may never see Leona again, lost in the void of filler and plot holes?
 
PUSA kept *seven* pieces of music today - the Route 201 music at the beginning, the sneaky Team Rocket music, the Team Rocket Kanto motto remix, the standard Team Rocket music, Polka O'Dolka, the Diamond/Pearl gym battle music, and the country bumpkin mix of By Your Side at the end.

Also I've decided from now on I'm going to average out the amount of music they keep in Battle Dimension. So far the average is about 6.1 pieces kept. The highest amount so far has been 8 (compared to 12 in Diamond & Pearl), the lowest has been 5 (3 in D&P).

Musical ramblings aside, for the actual episode: I found the Team Rocket robot hilarious. Badda boom! Badda bing! PUSA usually keeps the robots' voices intact, but for this episode they replaced it, and you know what? It worked. Leona was a pretty random name, but I guess there aren't many American names that begin with Y (the only I can think of is Yolanda which was used for one of Brock's sisters).

This week is what, episode 63? They just aired 83 in Japan a week ago, so we're about 20 episodes behind.

The closest that PUSA has come to reaching the raw was "Cooking Up a Sweet Story!" where they were only 13 episodes behind.
