Ash vs. Maylene. Let's see how this will turn out.
 
Yay! Finally, we get to see Ash's gym battle!

This should be a really good episode!! ^_^
 
This really is shaping up to be a good episode. And I was jsut thinking of posting the thread too. =p

On with the episode, let me just say the animation was absolutely superb. TO me, iy put Iwane's episode to a little bit of shame.

Staravia's voice while doing Brave Bird was a bit annoying.

Ans Machoke went down a bit too quickly for my tastes. heh, guess they wanted to promote Lucario.

I felt sorry for TR when they got that horrible massage, I guess you DO get what you pay for.

Meditite didn't sound so bad this time, and it's battling was good too.

Not to mention that they showed us what happens when you use Detect too much.

God, when Chimchar was out for the count, it really looked badly hurt.

How in the hell did Croagunk leave that room, only to beat TR up again in a gym.

And Lucario's battle was absolutely amazing with Buizel. I liked how they promoted its ability with the roof opened and everything.

Overall, an extrememly good episode.

What kind of massage was that?!

That was harsh using Confusion to bash Staravia's head on the ground.

That Brave Bird was great, but it looks like Ash was going a little overboard with it.

Chimchar did great in this one.

I didn't expect Ash to use Buizel's only contest move. Still, that Water Pulse is awesome.

Somehow, I was expecting the draw.
 
Head damage continues for Star. :p They just had to make Brave Bird work. :p Bui can sure take a lot of punishment. ...This is ridiculous, Bui just won't faint. This win seemed really forced. Good battle, nonetheless.

Win, seems more like a tie.
 
This episode was amazing when I seen the first time, and I still amazing watching it in the dub. This is one the most intense gym battles in Sinnoh and still crowned the best gym battle in Sinnoh.

And the BGM I actually didn't have much complaints. I don't know if it was me, but did I hear silence in today's episode especially around the beginning, or the BGM was so low since my TV wasn't as loud. Because if I did, I was surprised.

I just loved Lucario vs Buizel battle. Simply rare and awesome to see. And wow Maylene gets to decide if she wanted to give the badge. Okay I'm done.
 
Water Pulse /was/ amazing.

Haha, judging by the glint in the old man's eyes, they were detering the Rockets to get them to leave on their own, since they're not much of a threat.

Or they're just a bunch of kooks who enjoy scary massages.

I can't believe the writers used the phrases 'hark' and 'for sure' within a span of 10 minutes. I bet Ash wouldn't have just tied if he used Turtwig instead of Chimchar.
 
This episode was really good! I loved it! ^_^

The animation was awesome, the music was great, and Ash's battle was really amazing.

Of course, I wasn't expecting it to rain during the match. Nor was I expecting Buizel to fall down and get back up as many times as it did. Ash's Buizel is amazing!! =D

Wow, I loved Maylene's voice! Rachael did a fantastic job in this episode! I think this might be the best of the 3 episodes she has done so far. ^_^

And by the way, Sarah surprised me. Overall, I thought she was great in this episode!! ^^

It's funny, because this time, I actually liked the deep pitch that Sarah used. XD

Ash's voice should be deep. I think Sarah has given him a way too "girly" voice throughout D/P. Remember late-Veronica? Like in the hoenn league, now thats how Ash should sound. And Sarah imitated that quite good at the end of bf/early d/p, but since about d/p 15 and on Ash has sounded too girly imo. The first episodes of D/P (1,2,3,4,5), thats where Sarah sounded as she should sound.
Oh, and if you read this Lisa, check out the "MD 2 dub" thread, the return of Maddie in the PUSA dub xD. Also some rachel Lillis again.

This episode was good, my only complainment is too low volume on the BGM (as always ;| ). And may I remind you all, that this episode was animated by Shimura, and not Iwane. At toonzone they even say that Iwane did this episode xD

I really liked her voice today too. Usually her worst sounding lines are battle lines, and yet today she actually said them pretty well. Maybe she tried harder because this was a gym battle? I wont say maybe she'll keep it up, since she's very consistent at being inconsistent.

The only thing bad about this episode was all the commercial breaks. I forgot just how many there are until an episode like this where the flow of the battle really shouldn't be interrupted.

Oh yes, I love Veronica's Advanced Battle voice for Ash. It was deep and sounded so wonderful! That voice was perfect for Ash! <3<3

By the way, I'll PM you, since I'm not really allowed to post my "Sarah comparisons" anymore....

Awesome! I'll be sure to check out that thread, after I watch the second MD special. ^^

And yes, I know about Maddie returning. I can't wait to hear her Chatot voice! It'll be nice to hear Rachael again, as well.

Thanks Rocket Girl. I was getting a bit worried for a sec that even though Croagunk is creepy, it shouldn't be THIS creepy.

I'm actually surprised that Reggie didn't watch this battle.
 
The episode was good, but..

All japanese tracks were completely screwed. Sounded as silence instead of music. The audio dub director must be on crack.

Okay, what.the.fu*k is up with Staravias voice when doing BraveBird? It gives me an headache.

Maylene sounds too much like Misty xD.

Just a heads up to u all, try to watch this battle in japanese instead. It's just so much better.

Good point. I had forgotten he even exists. He must of been busy.

I was surprised Chimchar didn't last longer. You would think the writers would spotlight it due to the type advantage and the fact that this is Chimchar's first gym battle under Ash's ownership.

It was Buizel's too, now that I think about it. It and Lucario are two of the most badass Pokémon of the 493, so it was cool to see them fight. When they destroyed the roof I was like "o.o".

Staravia getting a lot of focus was neat, especially since this is the last gym in Sinnoh that it has a type advantage in. I still hope to see it evolve, though. Seeing it bang its head on the floor hard was pretty funny in a dark way.

So we're using creepy purple eyes to represent confusion now? Has that been done before?

So did Croagunk put tracking devices in Team Rocket's heads or what?

I wonder why Sudowoodo and Happiny weren't out of their balls like everyone else.

Silence, whoo.

This "music too low" problem is just getting more and more annoying.

It was interesting to see a gym battle end in a tie for once.
 
Sudowoodo won't show up again till ep 73 (this was ep 68) Happinny possibly doesn't like watching Pokemon battles. She is a baby girl after all. Maybe Brock only let Sudowoodo watch Roark's Gym battle because he's a rock type?
 
Great ep :) I really enjoyed it.

Also, did anyone else mention how they're pronouncing Machoke (etc) differently than in the 4Kids dub? Well, at least I know that in the later 4Kids eps Machop was Mah-Chop, as opposed to Ma-CHOP. Personally, I prefer how PUSA is doing it now as I've always pronounced it that way (putting the emphasis on the second syllable of the word, as opposed to the "ma"). I think it sounds better :)
