Review S11 EP18: The Bells Are Singing!

This is the episode with the Trucy Wright expy.

Though that's some screwed up BS when Dawn said "You're terrible!" as TR IS CHOKING ON SMOKE. D:

I forgot that this was the ep that had Buneary's vest. XD Gligar glomp. Awww, James misses his Chimecho. Not bad for a filler.

Well, for a Kinoshita animation, it doesn't make me want to gouge out my eyes like Takeda.

Those Chingling look so adorable like little Pac-man and all. Not to mention they sound good too.

Bunerary's dress looks a little.....bland.

And Jessie actually thought that the tablecloth made Pokemon appear. That is such a blond thing to say.

And Meowth's Boss fantasy actually makes a smidgen of sense this time.

I liked their motto this time, though Meowth needs to work on his singing voice a LOT.

That robotic Chingling scared the mess out of me when it started to talk.

It was nice to see a little flashback of Chimeco again.

I cannot believe Jessie and Meowth didin't even recogonize their own trap.

And Dustox can actually fly up that high and catcfh up with them heh heh

And Mime.Jr actually APPEARS AND BATTLES!!!! Seriously, it's been too long.

I think without TR, this episode wouldn't have been as good as it was.

Eight pieces of music:

- Cold opening music
- The magic show music
- Team Rocket's secret strategy
- Team Rocket's Sinnoh motto
- Music when James runs off with Chingling
- Diamond & Pearl gym battle music (Chimchar vs. Dustox)
- The music when James is talking to Chingling
- The battle music between Mime Jr. and Chingling

...the highest since "Bibarel Gnaws Best," so that's a bit exciting. Also, much like last week, there was some silence - not as much, but it was there. I'd say there was 30 seconds to a minute of silence. Hopefully PUSA will keep it this way.

Fairly well dubbed episode all around. I was instantly reminded of Trucy by Franceska - maybe the producers are fans of Ace Attorney, what, with Officer Jenny yelling "Objection!" and all that.

Holy hell. I wanted to grab those Chingling by the strings and shake them around as fast as I could. o.o How many freaking times in one half-hour do we need to hear "Chingling Chingling Chinglingling, Chingling! Chingling!"?

Thank Arceus for that Chimecho reference. James waited until near the end of the episode to bring that up, and I was worried he wouldn't at all.

Mime Jr.!? I thought you were dead! O.O

That Chimecho robot's deep voice mad me laugh. That and the twerps using it against Team Rocket later. How in the world did they get it to attack without the remote, though? :/

Oh, and Buneary's back from the dead too. I was actually surprised at how much I liked seeing it again. XD So adorable.

Stfu, Meowth. I wanted to press the mute button whenever he was "singing". So glad the characters kept on commenting on how bad it was.

Not that spectacular of an episode, really. It's meh at its absolute best.

This episode seemed kinda bland to me.

I actually forgot about Mime Jr. for a while.

The whole "Chingling, Chingling, Chingling" thing got really old really fast.

"You're flat!" That was probably the only part I liked about the whole episode.

To be honest, I haven't quite kept track, but I'm pretty sure Buneary's been used a lot more than Pachirisu at any rate.

Yeah, I agree.

This episode was pretty much "meh". ^^;

Also, let me get this straight: Are there two different kinds of Pokemon Magicians in the anime? The people who perform illusions, and the people who perform real tricks using real Pokemon Magic?

Because, apparenlty, the girl in this episode does the same kind of Pokemon Magic that both Melivin ("March of the Exeggutor Squad") and Butler (from Jirachi Wish Maker) liked to perform.

And sadly, I'm beginning to get the feeling that the writers have scrapped the entire idea of Pokemon Magic - I mean, the REAL magic which Lily performed in Johto. Aww, I sure hope they didn't scrap that idea, cause it was so awesome and original.... =(

Anyway, I laughed when Ash said, "A Pokemon Magician? Woah!". That line was amusing to me! Hehehe. XD

Sarah's Ash voice had a completely different pitch in this episode! O_O I couldn't quite put my finger on what was wrong with her voice, at first. But apparently, in this episode, the pitch Sarah used was higher than her normal voice for Ash. Ugh, I don't like this particular pitch. Overall, it sounds too dull and generic. I mean, there wasn't anything unique about this pitch, in my opinion. >_<

Anyway, I think Sarah needs to lower her pitch again, so that Ash will sound just like he did back in "A Triple Fighting Chance". Sarah did a really good job with that episode.
"You're flat!" That was probably the only part I liked about the whole episode.
Yeah, that line was awesome! LOL. XD!!

By no means is Jessie flat. I can't believe they kept in her cleavage! I think this is the best PUSA dub yet. This episode was so sugary I thought I was gonna get diabetes watching it X_X The Chingling were good too. I wasn't disappointed. with their voices at all.

At That part where Dawn threw the mechanical Chingling, there was a crashing noise, then the Chingling was fine a few minutes later. xD

Yeah Brock, use Happiny to catch Chingling. Too bad you don't have a bigger Pokemon with branches for arms or anything like that.

Hehe, well, they didn't edit out the hot springs scene, I found that more surprising XD

I didn't really like the episode that much. It could've been more entertaining than it was. And I agree that without Team Rocket, this episode would have been crap :p

"Would you like some cheese with that whine?"

I'm so lame, I actually thought that was funny XD

I enjoyed the chimeco reference.

Everyone already pretty much said all you can say, so I'll just add I was pleasantly surprised by how well Jessie and James sounded while singing. I was expecting the whole singing in unison thing to sound bad, but it actually sounded pretty good despite Meowth not being able to carry a tune to save his life.

Hopefully PUSA pulls out all the stops next week. The lack of Kaze to Issho ni is really going to hurt the episode. I hope PUSA makes up for it by keeping lots of other music, silence, and most importantly, not screwing up Team Rocket's dialog. They did a good job when Cacnea left, so I actually feel fairly confident that it'll turn out well.

I thought this episode was rather boring, Team Rocket were funny though. Hmm people have said all the quotes I had except one.

James: This net's thicker than your heads!

Oh, and I thought Jessie thinking the tablecloth was magic was funny, James's and Meowth's faces were priceless.

They should've named Francesca Trucy. :p As touched on, she looked like a cross between Trucy Wright from Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney and Zatanna from DC Comics.

Is it just me, or was Buneary's voice different?

Now I know why people hate this ep so much.

*kicks a Chingling*

Your stupid jingle is in my head now and it's all your fault >_<

This was not my favorite episode.

The Chingling triad got old very quickly, and their voices sounded too human like....a problem I have with many of the Pokemon voices.

The background music wasn't great. I keep hoping PUSA will come out with a great new track, that is of 4Kids quality, but so far PUSA has failed to do this, with the exception of the music that plays at the end of the episode...that one is pretty good.
8 Japanese tracks is ok...I just really hate PUSA's BGM in general as it is so hard to follow, bland, and generic.

It was fun to see the idea of "Pokemon Magic" being used again.

I liked the Chimecho flashback.
Although it also reminded me of how much better the dub was before DuArt took over.
However, in DuArt's defense, they are getting better at raising the BGM volume.

VOICES:

Wow, at the beginning of the episode I actually thought for a second that it may have been Veronica Taylor, she was really good in the intro. However, as the episode progressed Sarah went back to her usual self. This was especially clear when she tried to say "I choose you."

Rating: B-

Is it just me, or was Buneary's voice different?

It wasn't just you, I thought she was a little off as well. To me it felt like whoever plays her forgot how Buneary's voice is supposed to sound like.

That wouldn't surprise me, considering Sarah plays Buneary (it's on her myspace) and we all know how she tends to make her voices inconsistent... *coughashcough*

Pretty nice ep. Dawn was a bit too mean when it came to TR though=P and gosh, those Chinglig were annonying.

I found it funny that
Dustox's last battle was in a filler, and losing to Chimchar, who are seen about as much as Sudowoodo and Pachirisu.
