Review S11 EP24: Pruning a Passel of Pals!

Today we're going to find out Kaito's dub name.

Based on his Japanese name, I have predicted Cain. Kenji-girl predicted Kyle (though I don't want another one).

I can also see him being named Rodney (for some reason) but it's pretty unlikely they will choose this name.

Well, there is also a (very, very, very slim) chance they will keep Kaito. I just hope they don't name him Kite. It would suck.

Who says Kaito's dub name first gets a cookie!
 
Wow, that appearance by Azelf was much more involved than Mesprit. Zoey is from Snowpoint? o.o Dawn's finally learned to use other pokemon's attacks against them, well done, Buneary. Hello, Skitty, been a long time. We don't get to see Pachi battle? Doggone time constraints. Oh, Ash, when will you realize that your style doesn't work in contests? The ice missile returns. Nice ep.

Heh this episode's animation is actually very good. Especially for a Kinoshita episode.

Interesting touch that Zoey was from Snowpoint City.

I like how everyone had no idea what Ash was talking about.

And wow, Gym Leader music and a pathetic Wailmer. Seriously.

Lol at Jessie wishing James and Meowth had a magic wand or something.

Yay, now it's pop culture/T.V crew Team Rocket.

Personally with that Ice Aqua jet, I believe Ash should have won.

Wow, Jessie is being unusally aggresive at Wobuffet in this episode heh.

OMG OMG OMG, is that the JOHTO music I hear. Oh my good, that is like one of the best pieces I have ever heard, and YES they actually kept it in.

SO overall, very good episode. Now just two more weeks until the end and finally, Yanmega.

Alright, so Jessie ditches the Jesselina identity to allow Jessediah to return. I liked Jessediah, so yay. :3 Would have liked it more if Jessie had become Jessebella, though. XP

(Did I get all of Jessie's alter egos straight this time? o.o )

Such an "oh shit" moment when that guy sent out Lanturn. Haha. Anyone else like how he insulted Ash for using Buizel in both rounds? It was exactly what I was thinking: "Ash, why are you the only one using the same Pokémon?"

*points* Look, Azelf! Forgot that it made a cameo during this mini-arc. Good job of using May's quest to evolve Eevee and Zoey's backstory to tie in Uxie, since we probably won't get to Snowpoint for a long time now.

Oh, and hello there, Venusaur and Skitty! Not much time for them to shine, huh? Guess May's switching between all seven of her Pokémon.

It would have been interesting if she was Jessebella in this competition with May and all lol.

Yay so they remembered Jessie used this name in that disguise back in season 9's Grand Festival! I was afraid they'll forget and give her a new name and destroy the continuity

I remember people said a while ago that Jessielina's nickname eas changed in the Solaceon Contest... was that right? how they called her than? and did they fix it now in Wallace back to Jessielina?

I believe Kenji-Girl is either playing dirty (she might have some friend/family at PUSA) or PUSA simply takes sources from her predictions. I don't believe she could just guess so many names in the row. Fuck, I don't want Hiroki's name to be "Hiracio".

They still called her Jessielina in the Solaceon contest as well. Her Sinnoh name hasn't changed at all. Pretty good if you ask me.

They should have given Venusaur more than a split second cameo. That's my only complaint, the rest of the episode was great.

I actually enjoyed this one. XD

My review:

Hehe, because I'm a fangirl, my favorite part was when Ash fell out of bed, lol. XD

Aww, poor Ash though. He's been having trouble sleeping lately. =(


Anyway, I also liked the scene when Ash went for a walk with Pikachu. And yay, he gets to see Azelf! ^^

Wow, another good part! After seeing that mysterious light in the lake, poor Ash was so freaked out that he couldn't even explain it to his friends. That was hilarious!! XD

And as for the contest itself, Ash did a really great job! I like how he pulled off that Ice-Aqua Jet combination! ^_^

However, it's a shame that Ash lost his battle in the end. But then again, he doesn't have much experience as a coordinator (because he's more of a gym-battling type of guy). So this was kind of expected. But anyway, I'm glad that Ash wasn't disappointed that he lost! ^^

As for my final notes:

The animation in this episode was pretty good.

And I liked the music which was kept. Especially that track from Johto they played at the end! Yes!! :-D

lol. Team Rocket has been getting some good lines lately. Hopefully PUSA can keep it up.

This was a really good episode with a ton crammed into it. Ash saw Azelf, we learn Zoey is from Snowpoint, we learn May's Bulbasaur evolved, and we finish the next round of the Wallace Cup.

Ash had a really great battle. It was nice to see Ice Aqua Jet remembered. Glad Dawn's training didn't go completely to waste. I also like how Kyle was being a jerk. We need more unfriendly competitions in this show.

You also gotta love Paul continuing to stalk Ash. You know you care what he does Paul. :-D

And in two weeks we get to hear everyone complain again. Goodie...

Heh, it seems to me there isn't much for people to complain about these days, lol. XD

Well, except for the music, of course.
