Review S11 EP35: The Psyduck Stops Here!

Ah, the Psyduck roadblock. "What would they do that for?" Maybe to provide the plot for this episode? :D Why are they surprised Piplup wants to negotiate? And TR plan backfire commences. Wow, something too heavy for Happiny? Swinub sounds kinda like it's saying "Oh no." Takeshi's Paradise FTW. Heh, Gliscor is still the same pokemon. Whee, Psyduck eggs. Awww. Psyduckling, the next gen V pokemon. *is head smashed* Are you kidding me? A mud puddle of female Muk? Just your average filler, but with a few surprises. :p

....ANYWAYS, the animation for Kinoshita is actually all right lol.

I like how Dawn worrys about the amount of time to get to Celestic....and goes on to stay at Summer school for like 4 days the next episode.

Heh, Piplupn got out early for once, another episode without the spotlight glory.

Yeah Ash, use a fire pokemon against 3 water types.

Wow Dawn, that was cold thinking loser is in their vocabularly.

Poor Meowth, at least he tried neogoating.

Happiny looked so cute trying to throw that rock.

Wow, Ash is actually trying to be smart.

...Haven't seen THAT outfit from Brock in a long time.

Well, Ash must be made of steel to survive that.

lol at Psyduck not watching Brock's song.

The motto was all right heh.

Yanmega again, yay. it and Carnivine seem to be a good combo.

Omg, those little Psyduck seems so adorable and cute. Love how they sound.

The Muk are freaking gigantic.

lol with Muk blasting off into a sludgy pond with some apparent Muk kovin going on.

It was all right, a bit boring around parts.

Well, let's see...

Dawn did a few things good this episode, by making a good plan of digging under the Psyduck with Swinub (And failed, sadly.), to calling Team Rocket a loser. I seriously think Dawn's learning something from Gary.

Ash seemed less bright this episode. I mean, he could not see that it was obvious Piplup was trying to make peace with the Psyduck. (Yeah, it is no wonder that Piplup was the only one not fighting the Psyduck, it must be doing some random secret technique.) As well, One Fire Pokémon vs. Three Water types that know water moves... Hm, Ash, wouldn't that be a bad tactic? Plus... Why use Gliscor to fly and THEN use Staravia to give it wind... When you could just use Staravia to fly?

Brock was indeed lol. From bringing back his song, to getting Dawn to sing, which Dawn acted like Beauty from Bo-Bobo about it. Plus, Brock gets a merit for causing one of the most hilarious scenes in the episodes, by making Happiny try to charm the Psyduck away.

All in all, the episode was pretty good, but Dawn seemed out of character, and Ash became a rare sense of dense.

This episode seemed pretty random to me.

Whoa! Who knew that Psyduck could battle so hard?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure "loser" is in TR's vocabulary.

"They really need to get a hobby." Truer words couldn't have been spoken!

I see Gliscor still fails at flying.

And of course, the real gem of this episode was the conveniently placed filthy lake where Muk can get busy!

Those "Psyducklings" were cute, though.

This problem could have been solved alot sooner if they just sent out all of their 'mons to attack at once -_-.

Did PUSA include Takashi's Paradise just for us fans of the raw? :O

I thought Ash said something more harsh to Gliscor to make it tear up when I saw the raw.

Maybe Happiny's strength relies on her level of happiness?

I'm glad I'm not a kid anymore; these new kids movies look like they're gonna SUCK! I can smell the Rotten Tomatoes now.

Why use Gliscor to fly and THEN use Staravia to give it wind... When you could just use Staravia to fly?
Even if in the games you can use Starly or Something smaller to fly. Let's be realistic here. How is a tiny bird like Staravia supposed to carry a "heavy" human like Ash? It's not like Staravia is trained for such feats. I mean sure it could be possible after a lot of training but as is?

I thought this episode was a lot of fun. It was great seeing almost every pokemon battling, and Gliscor continues to show just how awesome it is.

I was disappointed Brock's song had just about no words to it. Talk about lazy PUSA.

I really liked the whole Psyduck plot. I don't know why, but protecting the group's eggs was just an enjoyable plot to me. I also thought the eggs and Psyducklings were really cute.

The ending with the Muk was really random in a good way. Finding three female Muk in that muddy water and doing some mating dance was just really hilarious to me.

I'm probably the only person who isn't very fond of the summer school arc. But at least the episode that comes after it is great.

I was kind a wondering how they were going to explain that kind of a video game plot device in the context of the anime.

this was a cute episode. Dawn and Ash were pretty funny, Brock was kind of creepy, but I liked Dawn's reaction to his outfit.

I was kind of disappointed that PUSA didn't give us a full dub of Takeshi no Paradise, but expected it all the same.

Missed the last couple minutes or so, so I didn't get to see my favorite part from the raw version, when the Muk meet their female counterparts. So disturbing... lol

seven pieces

Hmm, I actually thought it was funnier that way. "For the girls" was enough for a laugh. That was probably the highlight of this episode.
-----

Piplup was it's usual whiny self, straining to cry out it's ramble.

One thing I really liked about this episode was that Ash, Brock, and Dawn all got to battle in this episode and show off their trainer/Pokemon skillz against Muk.

Well, I guess this was a decent episode. But to be honest, it didn't do much for me. =\

Anyway, I liked how they used season one BGM in this episode. That was very nostalgic! ^^

And of course, those "Psyducklings" were very cute, indeed. =]

^except they seem maturer to me, protected the young in all.

Funny episode, I love how the Muks fell in love in the end. Reminds me how James Victorybell ran off with another girl victorybell.

(Sry for the delay but it unfortunately took me some time to find and get this episode!)

As Lisa said, it was a decent episode. Some may consider it boring or a filler, but I think that it was entertaining though!

The only thing that bothered me was that Ash and Co. initially acted a bit clumsily.
Ash, Dawn and Brock, what about the following strategy:
Either you blast away the three roadblockers by attacking with three(or more) of your own Pokemon, because I'm sure that the Psyduck wouldn't have been able to withstand such a massive joint attack OR you just distract them by attacking with only one Pokemon and while the Psyduck are busy defending themselves you fire off some more attacks ( e.g. Energyball or Thunderbolt!) and hit them hard!
Ash, you've already proven yourself to be capable of thinking up strategies like this!

And believe it or not, but I also thought of this "digging-under-the- Psyduck" plan- not during the battle but even at the beginning of it!
This tactic would have just been perfect and I see absolutely no reason why it shouldn't haved worked. Psychic simply musn't affect Pokemon under the earth, that's a violation of the rules which have to apply to every Pokemon battle! :(

And it annoyed me that Gliscor is STILL so dumb. It makes Ash look ridiculous and it's a shame for him as an honorable Pokemon Trainer! I just can hope that the writers will have Ash get rid of it (i.e. Oak it) as soon as possible. And chances are not so bad, because it envolved so early...Let's hope for the best!

Anyway, apart from our heroes' clumsiness and Gliscor's shocking performance, I really liked the episode because it was full of intense battles and had a nice, pleasant "save-the-Pokemon" plot!

6/ 6.5 out of 10 points!

So because Gliscor has a playful personality that makes it a bad Pokemon? It doesn't make Ash look bad at all, and it makes his team more fun.

If all of Ash's Pokemon had the same personality as Buizel, it would be damn boring.
