This is about the Lumineon dragging in poor pathetic souls, right? So, any opinions/whining/whathaveyou?

"How about something different?" Ok. :D A lake full of water pokemon? Boo, Rowan. Lol, Ash and Angie can't draw. How much more of a creepy stalker can Conway get? Lol, he's afraid of a little lightning storm. All of that for a Lumineon. Conway, the human pokedex. Does Conway have a creepy crush on Dawn or what? Well, maybe if you learned a thing or two from Brock... That was a fairly interesting ep. Conway certainly steals the show.

You guys are forgetting the best part of the episode.

Jessie=Carvanha

Looks fierce and can attack at any time, yet can also be cowardly. I also think it's pretty in its own way.

Hmm, this is a new animator I believe. he does a wonderful job with landscaping and close-ups. But the characters look a little...spacy.

Pokedex;Conway Model.

Boy, those guys got attached to Jessie reeeal quick.

Angie's drawings look awful. Ash's is a bit better.

I like how all of the characters just see one Pokemon and want to draw it. At least Jessie has some sense.

Heh Jessie being a Carvahna.

Conway, you are such a creepy stalker/pedophille...

Yeah, those guys just want Jessie now.

Conway the Pokedex is scared of thunder.

I like how Ash says don't look and Piplup looks.

Heh, Dawn caught on...a little. Guess that would show some people that some people aren't needed to detect team rocket.

YANMEGA!!

hmmm, good report.

Jessie got pwned by the scientist guy. Hypocrite.

Even when Jessie gets punished, she doesnt get punished.

Washing windows? Looking more and more like a millitary academy.

Of course, Ash fails at drawing. I like Angie's better, though. That's as close a Sealeo as I could draw anyway.

Figures Jessie would have those kids wrapped around her finger.

As always "creepy Conway" never ceases to amuse me. "Hm hm hmmmm."

"That sounds like a Team Rocket line." Gee, I wonder why.

YANMEGA!!!

And apparently Brock doesn't fail at drawing. Guess we won't be hearing from Tracey for yet another while.

Conway's status as a creeper is just getting more and more awesome. XD It's become more and more obvious he wants some cute 10-year-old barely-covered ass. Yay for the return of pedo humor. Well, kinda. You know, I still feel somewhat sorry for the guy even though he looks about Brock's age. Hmm, anyone think his "Satoshi is still a rival" line or whatever it was in the original version may have been Conway believing he would have to best Ash for Dawn's affections? If so, he clearly has no idea how Ash operates. :D I also like Dawn's "GTFO" reactions to him. It's a good contrast to May's reactions to Sid.

Jessie rocks in this episode. Between her horny brood of boy toys :)P), being compared to a Carvanha, and wanting to find a Suicune or a Manaphy, she made this episode even better.

Look, Dawn and Brock interacting!

Like how the twerps can magically switch from clothes to swimsuits and vice versa when needed. Conway's more fit than I thought he would be.

Ash naming out all the Pokémon to the unknowing Angie was a nice way to show how much experience he's had with the critters. *nods* Wonder how long ago Angie became a Trainer.

Uh, since when is everyone allowed to give a report as a group instead of as individuals? Brock (I assume) can draw rather well. Speaking of which, hey, Ash and Angie certainly draw better than me.

I love this summer school storyline. :D You gotta love the writers for finally giving us all these consecutive high-quality multi-episode arcs.

I really liked this episode. It's one of the better ones of the season. I assume the fact that we saw the light again right after they left the cave, foreshadows that this will be a problem in the future.

I wish they would have expanded on the cave scene a little more (i.e. something interesting could have happened to Ash when he went into the water).

It is good that they are incorporating some more "mature" humor. "Little kids" would realize that Conway was strange, but might not be aware of the idea of "pedophiles" and how closely this relates.

The music in this episode was great. The PUSA music has become quite good, as I know I hated it at first. I also really liked the ending Japanese piece.

Conway is now one of my favorite characters now after this episode. So pedo-like.

Angie and Ash seemed to have really good chemistry And I loved the "Your drawing like an alien!" thing.

The Luminon seemed evil in it's own way.

And Jesse Cavanna... Wow that's true!

I give it a 9/10

Conway is the same age as Dawn, do you guys even know what a pedophile is? If you're 18 or older and crushing on a minor its creepy, but Conway is probably around Dawn's age.

He's a stalker but there's nothing wrong with what he's doing. If it was someone like Brock's age crushing on Dawn, then that would be wrong.

Around Dawn's age???? He does not look 10, 12, or 14. Too me he looks 17, maybe 18 at most.

Either that or he's a horny 16 year old boy which is just wrong too.

What show are YOU looking at?

I agree. He's definitely around Brock's age.

Hmm, anyone think his "Satoshi is still a rival" line or whatever it was in the original version may have been Conway believing he would have to best Ash for Dawn's affections?

The original line was that he's not the enemy. But I think it was a dropped plot line. It would be awesome if he meant he didn't see Ash as a rival for Dawn's affections. :-D

This episode made me wonder about Lumineon's rarity. Is it really that rare in the anime? They've already have a vareity of Pokémon that aren't based on freshwater animals living in a freshwater lake. They just haven't made the distinction between freshwater and saltwater in Pokémon yet, so maybe I'm overthinking this part.

I also liked how they tried to pick out Jessie's Pokémon to study. But I'm kinda annoyed that Jessie would say that Relicanth is ugly. It's one of the cooler Pokémon if you ask me.

I actually thought that he was Dawn’s age too, but kept noticing that throughout the episode he was either the same height as Brock or slightly taller. So 17ish sound right.

Right, right. Got confused. Ha, now I am convinced that he was referring the a romance with Dawn. And apparently Kouhei is more observant of people than Conway is...? Or he just considers himself so damn hot and awesome that Ash couldn't possibly compete with him. Or something.

Yesss! A great, an excellent episode! Masterfully done!
I enjoyed watching it from the beginning to the end!

There were so many aspects which I could enumerate, so please don't consider the following listing as complete.
Let's go:

Ash and Angie together in one boat was quite nice. Is that possibly meant to imply something? ;)

Watching Jessie sitting enthroned in her boat with her two slaves (yeah I think "slaves" hits the nail on the head!) was hilarious. All her behavior, in particular acting like a queen was so entertaining. Yes, Jessie is really "our queen", as Meowth correctly added XD
Well,James and Meowth, her two permanent subjects, can at least take a break from her strict rule now :ksmile:
What do you think, are the poor boys perhaps planning a revolution against their "leader" ?:XD2:

Both the gorgeous lake and the creepy cave (combined with the scary music) were a very well-chosen setting. The writers managed to create an awesome atmosphere. Not to forget the animation which was outstanding today!

I really liked that all the important characters of this arc discovered the cave together and did something more or less important.

And ,of course,I also had to laugh at Conway:
We already knew that he was weird but this was Conway at his best! It's more than obvious that he has a crush on Dawn. How sweet was it to see him trying to approach her again and again.^^ Although I'm convinced that Dawn and Convey wouldn't match, I somehow feel sorry for this rejected lover ^^

But, unfortunately, I also have to critize two things (yet it won't change my opinion that the episode is another example of a great, successful story):
Firstly, it's a pity that Ash couldn't do "more" today. Although he was given some good scenes, he couldn't really shine.
And secondly, I find it far too hard that Ash and Co. lost four points!! I mean, what for?? Just for leaving the area of the lake??? Come on, Prof. Rowan, your academy isn't a kindergarten, is it? Instead of praising our heroes for such an awesome adventure and report, you punish them??? No, I absolutely can't agree with this totally unfair decision!:saiyan:

Finally, one question remains:
Why in the world did Lumineon lure the other Pokemon into the cave? Why? Surely not, because it intended to share its food. On the one hand it wants to show its solidarity and on the other hand it tricks Pokemon by hypnotizing them? No, that simply doesn't go together!
I guess this question will remain unsolved unless you have a reasonable explanation.

Well, apart from the fact that Ash and his friends were treated highly unfairly, this episode was brilliant!
I enjoyed every second and so, I give

8 out of 10 points

Personally that's not why I found the point deduction unfair. I mean they were looking for Angie's Shinx (except Conway and Jessie, Conway went because of Dawn, Jessie went for "treasure"), clearly there are rules with no exceptions. And you're kind of right, these are trainers that travel a region, and going away from a simple lake is more dangerous than Ash facing some baddies. And they did go as a group. But I guess a rule is a rule.

I don't think it does it on purpose, it's just the way Lumineon works. In fact it could just be using the lights as a flashlight, and the hypnotic trances are just a simple side effect. And I don't think it ever said it was a "loner" Pokemon after all it's hard for regular water Pokemon to get in that cave without a tunnel (unless it can walk on land). It was like the only water Pokemon in there.

Although I really love the Pokemon Summer Academy-arc, I 'm beginning to wonder WHY Ash, Dawn and Brock are actually attending the Rowan- (military ^^) Academy?
This school is clearly meant for beginning trainers, but an experienced trainer/breeder like Ash/Brock has no reason to learn simple fudamental basics like observing Pokemon. (nice but unnecessary for Ash if you ask me)
I'm not sure if that academy will give him any advantage over his future opponents who he is going to come across.
let's see!

I enjoyed this episode with Musashi and her lackies. XD That was hilarious. And the Pokémon they kept choosing for her. . Man, everytime they chose one, I knew she was gunna be pissed.

Major lawlz at Kohei and his stalkerness. Poor Hikari. . =P

Overall, I'd give it a B+.

Wow, this was actually a pretty good episode!

Anyway, I liked the scene with Ash drawing the Dewgong, and Angie drawing the Sealeo. That was funny when Ash scratched out his drawing. Poor guy. XD

Also, I cracked up when I saw those kids treating Jessie like a queen, lol. XD

And of course, I loved all those scenes with Conway stalking Dawn, and trying to get her to like him. He's hilarious!!

By the way, does anyone know who did Totodile's voice in this episode? To me, it sounded like the same voice they used in the 4Kids dub. O.O

Also, I really wish CN hadn't squished the credits to the side like that. I wanted to see the VAs, on the list of Additional Voices. =(
