Yes, I know its a little early BUT it doesn't matter right? right?

No, Today 4/4/2009.

Can't wait for the reactions between Paul and Ash. I hope Grotle voice is too deep not like Turtwig voice.

Yes, but no information was posted in the official web site (pokemon.com) thats why I'm asking :) I can't believe they replace so easily new dubbed episodes with a special movies or etc. Thats another reason for asking :)
As for the episode.....I realy want to see Pauls Honchkrow. We've already seen only Murchrow (sorry for misstakes) in battles. And as for Ash's Grotle I think It will be just like Sceptile.Team Rocket will interfere.

Maybe I could be wrong but check (pocketmonsters.net).
Sadly, Murchrow did appear in only one minute, I was hoping if Paul used it several times before he has evolved.

Grotle's voice is.....um OK.

Anyway I can sorta see why Paul's brutal to his Pokemon now.

Brock is interested in Paul's style? How can he be, when he was the one trying to stop him abusing Chimchar? Paul's trying to outdo his brother? Welcome to the dub, Grotle. Speed=bye bye Don't you hate it when Paul is right? Owww, peck awake. XD, Poison Jab. Very interesting ep.

Why do I get the feeling I can't discuss this.
The first scene right when Turtwig evolved we heard Grotle's voice before it went to a commercial that was so underwhelming I couldn't help but laugh. It was probably the most unintentional funniest moment, it was hilarious.

It was okay aside from some minor dub moments. A heavyweight boxer? Really Brock I didn't your expertise included things outside of Pokemon. I'm almost positive he didn't say that in the original, it was really odd.

This episode did shed a whole lot of light on Paul's motives. Seeing his brother just give up and be happy he did probably threw Paul for a loop.

I liked this episode and it's episodes like this that keep me coming back to Diamond and Pearl. There's a sense of depth to the storytelling Pokemon has been needing for years. Having a Pokemon have to get use to its body is a nice touch. Paul's Torterra helping Grotle was also a very good scene.

Could you compare Grotle to something real-life related in a way everyone (yanno, that audience creature the episode it created for) could understand?

*happyflail* Hollowshipping~ in the faaaace! Going back to Reggie was also a very nice touch, getting just a bit more insight to his character and how's all uppity about it.

And Torterra! *______* And this is why, ladies and gentlemen, I choose no other starter than Turtwig. Because of beasts like that. Ooooh, Iwantonesobadly.

But, god, what the heck was Jessie's "Rigid. Just like you, James," comment about. And James THINKING about it? Was somethign lost in translation?

I always thought that it was way too random how Brock mentions Reggie out of the blue. I mean just like that??

Not really they were discussing Ash's battling style so it would make sense to bring up Paul's battling style hence where Reggie comes up. And this is the first time Brock got to discuss something with Paul since meeting Reggie since there wasn't a lot to discuss in the Chimchar Blaze episode.

It's nice to see the show admit that Pokémon aren't universally better when they evolve. It's also interesting to see a non-main character have a Pokémon with a differing personality.

I agree. I was laughing a little. It was just so unexpected. Although the voice wasn't too bad actually.

It was a pretty good metaphor for the fighting style. I mean, you've got to take some punches to find an opening. It was probably used to be something more understandable for the dub audience.

Anyway, not too bad an episode. Poor Grotle, he finally evolves only to take major punishment because he can't move. I'll admit, I'll miss the spinning dodges from him. Torterra was awesome in this episode. I mean, you would expect the Pokemon that's been with Paul the longest would be the most like his trainer, but he appears to have soft side. I was expecting Torterra to nail Gliscor with that Frenzy Plant, so I was surprised that it stopped. I do love Staravia, Piplup, and Croagunk waking up the trainers.

Brock's interaction with Paul interested me. So here's where we see some of the sibling rivalry. Paul doesn't understand why his brother acts the way he does. Also, Paul is angry at Ash for not using Blaze. Well, Paul, it's not like you have any control over what Ash does with Chimchar.

But at one point, I think Paul's criticism was harsh, especially during the battle. I mean, it should be obvious to him that Ash is at least somewhat skilled. It still seems like Paul thinks of Ash as inferior to him, not even close to the same level. Also, when he said that their training are similar...while it is somewhat true, Ash at least knows when to stop...

Sorry, did I start ranting? I'll stop there. Not a bad episode. Still think Grotle should've had a deeper voice, but it isn't as butchered as Ambipom's.

A Pokemon getting used to its new body after evolving is nothing new. The same happened to Bayleef after it evolved, and it got upset that it could no longer play with Ash because it was so heavy.

But given this was back in Johto, 8 years ago, from an ep most people never watched, its understandable. Who remembers mid-Johto, anyway?

I do!

Anyway, I think they should focus on this more often. Usually evolution is made like a Deus Ex Machina of the battle and I'm glad they didn't take this route with Grotle.

I remember it :D I watched 300+ episodes from 23 December 2008 to 9th January 2009.And to the end of January I already watched all aired episodes. After that I started waiting for new episodes :).
So my memories are fresh :D

Now that you mention it...Yeah, I remember. Although the way the episodes went were different. I do remember Ash scolding Bayleef pretty harshly.

It's pretty strange how they aired this episode the same week grotle learned rock climb in japan why does that always happen
