Well...Meowth defeating Empoleon? Wow! lol

Anyway, This is just a breather episode for the many things that will happen in the next few coming up.

Re: "Jumping Rocket Ship" review thread.

So did I hear Meowth say that he was working on learning Night Slash? About time! He hasn't learned a new move since.... Actually, I don't think Meowth EVER learned a new move.

Re: "Jumping Rocket Ship" review thread.

It feels like they tried to cram a bit too much into this episode-it was difficult keeping track of the groups of Pokemon in the episode-I wish they had spent more time on Meowth's inner conflict. Also, it seems a bit odd that they assume the Pokemon are unable to defend themselves from Team Rocket should Team Rocket find them first. Still, not bad.

Re: "Jumping Rocket Ship" review thread.

The lack of concern for Staravia and Croagunk is depressing. On the flipside, exhausted!Grotle and superwoman!Happiny is an excellent combination of "small things this tiger enjoys". Croagunk also retains its title as strangest creature alive. It better always remain. TTvTT

Meowth claiming to learn Night Slash better not be some tossaway line, because that would be fantastic if there were small snippets following of him trying...not that we'd ever be so lucky, nor would they give such a powerful move to him, because TR doesn't have any powerful moves for a reason.

Canalave being an exagerated version of its game c/p? Brilliant~ Maze-like quality? Facinating. 8D I half expect David Bowie to find solace there.

Re: "Jumping Rocket Ship" review thread.

I was mystified about that Night Slash thing, I thought Meowth claimed he couldn't learn moves after learning to speak. Anyway, standard pokemon separation episode, but Meowth is not fooling anyone except the dense cast, barring Pikachu. Staravia in love honestly made me laugh, I'm astonished. Fillerific, onto the next one.

Re: "Jumping Rocket Ship" review thread.

Can anyone check if that Night Slash thing was in the original? I wanna say no but I'm really not sure.

Come on Meowth, you should know you can't get bottle caps from soda cans! (I love that line way too much)

Poor Grotle, having to be carried around by a tiny pink pokemon. And Piplup finding out being leader isn't easy. It needed to be knocked down a few pegs.

I'm surprised Staravia still sounded girly. I would've thought they'd try to make it sound a bit more boyish... but the scene was hilarious none the less.

Don't leave Barry! Who will entertain us until you return? :-(

This is one of those episodes that had so many funny things that I feel like I'm forgetting something. It's a shame with all the Rocket focus as of late that this is as close as Meowth gets to a focus episode.

And next week the season ends on a really crappy note. Too bad they couldn't have just called it with this one.

Edit: I did indeed for get something. Just how would you know Jessie is ticklish James. ;-)

Re: "Jumping Rocket Ship" review thread.

Haha, this episode was great. I got so many laughs out of it. ^_^

I'm sad Barry's gone, though. :[ Next to Team Galactic, out of every new character to be introduced in the DP saga, Barry's my favorite. It's going to be weird without him now.

At least the next season starts with a good episode. And the Night Slash thing was in the original as well. :)

Ah, this was such a fun episode. Barry's impatience is always the best.

Was every piece of music kept in this episode sans the title music (which was different for whatever reason)? I know that there was WAY more original music and silence than there was dub music.

yeah, it was.

IIRC the only move he said he couldn't learn was Payday. I don't think he mentioned learning moves in general.

It is in the original.

Re: "Jumping Rocket Ship" review thread.

That's kinda strange that that's in the original, unless the writers are planning to go somewhere with that with a certain upcoming event Nyasu wants to do.

Re: "Jumping Rocket Ship" review thread.

That's what I'm thinking as well...though it would be damn strange to see Nyasu's moveset expanded to more than just, well, whatever it is right now.

Re: "Jumping Rocket Ship" review thread.

I'm pretty sure it was just ment to be a throw-away gag. He did just go all Samurai on Empoleon before-hand, and Night Slash's japanese name, iirc, references a finishing move Samurai would use to break in their new blade.

It's not like it would make much difference if he did learn it anyway. At the end of the day, it's just a scratch attack with a fancier name :p

Re: "Jumping Rocket Ship" review thread.

In that recent contest episode, didn't Meowth say he was going to help Jessie get her third ribbon? I'm thinking that's where they could be going with this. Meowth learning a new move, prior to possible contest participation? Hardly coincidence.

Re: "Jumping Rocket Ship" review thread.

OMG, love it. XD "Group gets split up" episodes are always fun.

Been a while since we had a Meowth-centric episode. And of course the twerps believe him. Lol at them trying to help Meowth become a TV star through Rhonda, as well as Meowth's random little fantasy and his BA betrayal at the end. Of course Pikachu being snarky and distrustful was win. Little rat's had enough adventures with Meowth by now to know when he's BSing.

The Staravia thing was hilarious; I had to stop myself from laughing. The twerps' complete lack of concern over it and Croagunk was kind of odd.

Poor Grotle. <3 Happiny carrying around things never gets old.

Did I miss something or was Yanmega absent for the length of the entire episode? Weird.

Aww, Jessie's concern for Meowth and her hugging Wobbuffet was adorable.

As for Meowth's potential to learn Night Slash, I had always assumed he would be able to learn and use physical moves but not non-physical moves like Pay Day or any crazy element-based TM moves like Water Pulse or Thunderbolt. (And note I don't neccesarily mean by the games' classification of moves.)

But...it glows in the dark.

Honestly, anything new for Meowth would be good, regardless of what it is.

Re: "Jumping Rocket Ship" review thread.

I have to say though, I think that if they were planning on taking Night Slash any further, they'd have probably referenced it by now :/

Oh well, who knows!

As far as I know, it's just been Bite (though not much since that old Sandshrew episode) and Fury Swipes. Night Slash is a much needed breath of fresh air. And it's bound to be great if Meowth ever perfects it.

Meowth also knows Scratch. Yeah, I know, big deal.

And I agree, if and when Meowth perfects Night Slash, that'll be good. Perhaps down the line, the writers will be having Meowth battle more often.

Re: "Jumping Rocket Ship" review thread.

I really can't see Nyasu battling more :/ It's almost like a well established human character. Not to say that Night Slash wouldn't be a nice change should it happen, but...it would just be strange, ya know? ^^"
