Since the episode just started to air, I thought it might be a good idea to start up the review thread.

And already, Barry gets blasted by Empoleon.

Hmm...Steel pokemon are going crazy, how appropriate. Wow, anime Iron Island is cooler than in the game. Nice to see you again, Diglett. Oh snap, this is bad. I'd be running. Fighting against friends to save them...I never thought I'd see this from pokemon, well done. "I'm getting a bad feeling about this." I don't know if that's an intentional Star Wars reference. Dag, everything TG does is intense. Can't wait to see more.

The episode just ended. I have little to say except that the episode itself is consistent with the original.
Also Riley's voice is the same as Sir Aaron's in the dub.

Huh? How did "in such pain" become "not feeling any pain?"

Good cliffhanger...

So that's how Barry befriends Team Rocket. I love it when twerps and Rockets get thrown together.

And finally, Riley. I like him. Not that I didn't expect to or anything...

Final assessment: intense.

I loved the fact that Barry wanted to fine Team Rocket after he clearly violated them.

Anyway, this was a good episode. There were some intense moments in this episode with all the Steel Pokemon destroying everything. So there's a good explanation as to why Lucario wasn't affected (initially at least). Can't wait to see what happens next, although it will have to be a little bit.

BTW, someone else gets to make the episode discussion threads for the next three weeks. I'm out of town.

Wow! This was a pretty good episode! It was very exciting!! O.O

And yay, Barry! It's so awesome to see Barry again! :-D

I don't know about that. Riley didn't sound much like Sir Aaron if you ask me. =O

Can someone confirm whether or not it was Jason Griffith? I'm curious.

Barry, whoo. :D Fun to see him so soon, and I found it cute that he's keeping in touch with Ash and is (subconciously?) asking for help from him. His interaction with the Rockets was pretty funny.

Oh, come on, we couldn't have alluded to Sir Aaron in some subtle matter? XP That would have been cool. At least we get Riley. :3

Whoa, whoa, wait, the Spear Pillar? What is going on?

Don't relly have much to say, but I liked the episode.

I'm going to get infracted for this aren't I?

Anyway at first, when Riley told Lucario to use close combat, it sounded like Sean Schemmel. But once he started to talk to Ash and co, he started to sound like Sean less and less to the point it wasn't Sean. But since I really do not care about differentiating the voices, I could not tell you who voiced Riley (since Riley's voice is only slightly familiar).

Edit: Oops wrong move

I'm the same way, I kind want to know to. I really liked the voice, but I couldn't figure it out. It sounded someone new, but I don't know voices, so its not my department.

I enjoyed the episode, it was very action packed. And after seeing this, now I wish the second episode would come, and some of me kinda don't because remembering something I don't want to be reminded.

It was so nice to see Barry again. I'm starting to like him more and more. He with Team Rocket made the episode for me. They make a great quad together.

I chuckled a bit when Ash was impatient as they went to Iron Island. Thats was cute to me, reminded me of a little kid kinda wanted to get there so fast.

Barry! I've missed you! And you're with my Rockets! How hilariously awesome. :-D

Not much else to say others already haven't. A very exciting introduction episode building up to an explosive finale next week. The only downside was the music. It really downplayed everything that was going on.

Actually, from the first half I saw online, I'm almost certain Riley was Marc Diraison, AKA 4Kids Zolo! I'll be able to know for sure after the second half is up.

Funny enough, he's the one I felt should've played Lucario in the 8th movie before they went with Schemmel.

NO FREAKIN' WAY!!

"Wherever they go, we go." Yes, it's Team Rocket in a nutshell.

This was a really heated episode! And I'm always happy to see Mars, no matter how sadistic she is.~♥

Barry! It was nice seeing him again. He definitely had some great moments in this episode, especially with TR.

It's cool to see Riley too. It's going to be intense with Lucario being affected and Team Galactic around. Overall, pretty good episode!

It was pretty good. I really liked seeing Lucario's Close Combat. Not only was it cool, it was an actual attack, instead of a flashy background with a glowing body part followed by a freeze-frame striking pose. It was also good to see Team Rocket team up with the good side. I just wish the writers would use these types of events to make Team Rocket competent, so they are more believable characters.

Yep, Diraison is Riley, 100%. I was wondering after the old crown insurgence when they'd be bringing him back. :D

I still find it kinda strange how there's an anime appearence of a game character who was inspired by a movie character. What would you call that?

But it was a pretty solid episode. The only dissapointment is that even though they showed off a variety of steel type Pokémon, they failed to show my favourite, Mawile.

Finally I'm getting to comment on this episode (I was invited to a party yesterday, so, unfortunately, I couldn't watch it until now)

Actually, I haven't got much to add, as some of you already noticed quite rightly that this week's episode had been intense and action packed. As far as I'm concerned, it was nearly flawless and I wouldn't be honest, if I was searching for something to criticize.

First of all, we got to see Lucario again, one of my most favorite Pokemon and generally one of the most epic Pokemon as well. Lucario alone would have made my day, but additionally we saw the debut of a new, awesome, and hopefully heroic character: Riley! I do hope that after the Iron Island-episodes, I'll be able to add him to my list of the most impressive and powerful trainers we've encountered in the Anime. This list contains such great charaters' names like Lance, Brandon, Wallace and of course my most admired Queen Cynthia and my personal example Ash himself.

Like ShinyAeon, I also like it if Ash and Co. more or less voluntarily team up with the Rockets. This, let me call it "forced ceasefire" has always been the foundation for exciting adventures so far.
Who else agrees that the writers designed Team Rocket nearly perfectly by making them neither too good nor too bad/evil? A successful concept of villains Pokemon couldn't do without!

And then we had Team Galactic: Once again they proved themselves to be by far the most serious and threatening organisation in Pokemon until now. Their plans and operations are so intense and promising that you can't help expecting an overwhelming final!

And although it were only two short scenes in which Ash showed his despair and anger at the pains of the manipulated Pokemon, he once again demonstarted his boundless fighting spirit and his good-hearted character. Said scenes certainly were great gifts for every Ash-Fan.

To sum it up: These are the Pokemon episodes we want to watch! A great plot which whets your appetite for the sequel and the showdown next week.

8 out of 10 points!

I like this one as well. The more I see of Galactic, the more I like them. It seems like they are the most competent of the "evil teams". It was also nice to see some lucario action, as he is an awsome pokemon. I'm looking forward to the second part.
