Here's when Pikachu and Piplup gets lost on an island.

Edit: The animation seems good like always.

I liked the SS Anne(or some other ship) music that was playing.

It was funny how Piplup sort of wanted to go along with Jessie.

Usually TR talks at a normal speed, but when they were clapping and all IU barely understood what they were saying.

Piplup was a bit annoying with it's hunger.

Would you look at that, it's Deoxys.

this music when they're swimming sounds like a musical.

I rarely say this, but Pikachu seems quite adorable.

Golden magikarp Hand lol.

cheap hand....

stock footage. Though did the motto music start at the same place in the original version?

.well that must freakin hurt......poor Team Rocket. But at least we saw Yanmega.

Good episode, though it makes me wish they had that Giant Island of Pokemon subtitle thing...

Piplup continues to be an idiot. Of course, our standard separation fare. You know, why don't they sub pokemon like that one ep in Kanto? I wasn't expecting that to be a Deoxys egg. Easy, Ash, we haven't seen all of Sinnoh yet. Ok ep, I miss that Kanto ep.

Re: 'Cheers on Castaway Isle' review thread.

One bit of a scripting error, however.
Officer Jenny promises the ship's captain to return the kids to them when they're finished yet she is the one to bring them into town.
He's probably still in the ocean waiting for them to return.

That wasn't an egg. It was the Crystal in its chest.

The Captain said he would continue to Chocovine Town.

Re: 'Cheers on Castaway Isle' review thread.

I was wondering the whole time whether this was the Deoxys from Deoxys' Crisis or not... I had assumed it wasn't the one from Destiny Deoxys since its green mate/"friend" was missing. Guess it probably wasn't since it had no reaction to Ash, Brock, Pikachu, and TRio. And the explination at the end implies multiple Deoxys use this island as a recharge station... exactly how many Deoxys are on this planet? Is there some kind of space migration going on that we don't know about?

Kinda surprised they didn't tie on this episode with last week's. We couldn't have had Brock or Jenny or someone speculate that these meteorites and Iron Island and maybe the Veilstone meteorites come from the same massive meteor shower? Especially since, as we know but the characters don't, the Veilstone meteorites are tied in with Deoxys and presumably have the same effect on Deoxys in the anime as the meteorites in this episode do.

Also, "meteorites" is a funny word.

Oh look, in media res again. Well, I like the narrator telling the audience that we were going to rewind a bit. It was different.

Really liked that music during the swimming scene. Don't think I've ever heard it before.

Haha, Staravia and Buizel see Pikachu and Piplup and then just go back to Ash without even making their presence known.

Huh? where did you get that from?

Pretty dull episode filled with too much dub music. I was hoping PCI would pull out a vocal song for the swimming part, but no... At least it was nice to meet a Deoxys that wasn't whining about being alone.

I know most people don't like next week's episode, but I find it to be pretty cute. It's certainly more interesting than this.

Oh, I guess I was a bit distracted then. I didn't look too much at the scene, and I thought it looked happy.

I'm surprised that music when they were swimming was dub music. It was pretty good though.

Re: 'Cheers on Castaway Isle' review thread.

Yeah, most of the dub music's not so great, but they do have a couple good ones. I thought that number fit pretty well.

Re: 'Cheers on Castaway Isle' review thread.

Eh, it was okay. Nothing too special, though. I haven't really been impressed with this season so far. I am looking forward to next week's episode, though.

Re: 'Cheers on Castaway Isle' review thread.

Like I thought when this originally aired, it felt really short (despite being the normal length). I guess its because there wasn't a lot of talking in this episode. But it felt short to me.

At the time of the original I also felt that it was nice fresh of breath air, unfortunately I can't say the same now, of course we're talking about different circumstances here.

Call me an idiot but I just love how the writers let Ash say what a Pokemon is first before Brock (even if he's seen one before a few episodes ago), it just gets me this fuzzy feeling inside, that makes me think Ash isn't an idiot as people claim.

For example, I loved how Ash identified the Monferno in the School Arc episode despite not seeing one (technically; none of this off screen nonsense) prior to it.

Re: 'Cheers on Castaway Isle' review thread.

My comments as I watch the episode:

-Team Rocket's inclusion felt really forced. They don't need to be in every episode, writers...
-Boo, Nosepass and Probopass. The worst Pokémon ever. Why did they need to be in TWO DP episodes?
-Aww, annoying of a character as it is, Piplup with the apples is cute.
-Cool, Pikachu's electric attacks actually look powerful for once. Possibly because it's not a flashy background freeze-frame like in battles.
-Yay, Piplup struck by lightning. Had it coming. Despite the fact that electricity is thrown around a lot in the show, things getting struck by actual lightning always feels really brutal. It's cool.
-I like the lack of humans in this episode. Too bad they don't use subtitles like in Island of the Giant Pokémon. :p
-Why can Pikachu breath underwater?!
-Why does Water Gun make things explode?
-Why did Deoxys come from an egg (chest crystal thing, whatever)? I don't like how casually legendaries are seen recently. Though I guess when 13% of the generation IV Pokémon are legendary, they don't get too much of a choice.

I thought the episode had a lot of wasted potential. It was something different, which is nice, but still not that great.

Some folks had claimed that this episode would be an average or even a bad one, but to be honest, I loved it! The plot was really well thought-out and all in all it was a thrilling adventure!

Ash once again proved himself to be the hero of the day when he fearlessly jumped into the water to save Piplup and his very best friend Pikachu. I guess, he would actually do everything for his Pokemon and even die just to save them. Didn't that scene make every Ash-Fan's heart beat faster? These are the moments which remind me why I admire Ash so much despite his recent defeats (particularly with regard to the recent Japanese episodes)

As for the awesome piece of music which played while the Pokemon were diving and swimming: I can't help it but it somehow reminded me of the song "My Sharona" by The Knack. Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVoGvvMC_es
Hold on! Did I just write "My Sharona" ?? Noooo, of course it should be "My ShIrona". What a great reference..awwwwwww No, no that can't be a mere coincidence! That's a hidden message!!! :unworthy:My Shirona...awww!:unworthy: ash_forever is losing it once again :D

You know what, the idea of attracting the trainers' attention by firing Thunderbolts and Bubble Beams into the sky was brilliant. And believe it or not, I had already come up with that plan before they actually showed it. But the fact that they actually realized one of my ideas in the Anime was even more brilliant. Too bad that it ended in failure when Pikachu and Piplup ("P&P") were stricken by lightning which at the same time was hilarious though. Sorry for gloating over that but the result was just too obvious:ksmile:
But where in the world was that golden "thundershield" from the 7th gym battle in Hoenn? I'm hereby demanding to see that shield again if I'm not supposed to believe that the first shield was a DEM back then :p

Some folks may complain that Deoxys' screentime was way too short, but we mustn't forget that this Pokemon already had its introductory episode (even two to be precise) so it's just natural that we're expected to consider him an "old acquaintance" by now.
Nevertheless, Deoxys' appearance was way better than Darkrai's one eight episodes ago, which was a complete farce. (That episode sure broke my heart because Darkrai definitely belongs to my all-time favorites.)
And of course, let's not forget those fascinating, exciting, and impressive scenes at the end where Deoxys showed its awesome power. Without doubt a worthy ending for a great episode!

7 out of 10 points!

Did they keep in that mention of Johto? (.aka. Jessie's line after she realises that Jenny's just said that she's going to arrest them.)

Re: 'Cheers on Castaway Isle' review thread.

I wonder why they keep bringing Deoxys back so much. It got the 7th movie, the Ranger arc in Battle Frontier, and now this.

Is it really popular in Japan?

I don't think that was there originally. But to answer your question, no. Nothing like that was said.

Re: 'Cheers on Castaway Isle' review thread.

Was it not? :p I remember either reading or hearing that line about Jouto... oh well!

My thoughts exactly.
