The Sunyshore Tower is being stolen by Team Rocket. This seems interesting.

No replies? o_O

Anyway, this was an alright episode. I really don't understand why the writers delayed the 8th gym, but at least we got Torterra out of it. Everything else was just so... meh.

Team Rocket saying their version of that speedy success thing to the tune of Old McDonald was just ugh, and it sounded like only a few pieces of music were kept. :-(

The episode had two main purposes right from the get-go.

One, to have Ash's Grotle evolve into Torterra. And two, for the Sunyshore gym match to be delayed. The writers seem to took into consideraton what happened in the D/P/Pt games. To prevent going to Sunyshore City early, the game has it so that the city experiences a major blackout. This could be the reason why Ash's gym match was delayed.

The episode starts out with Ash and Volkner's gym match, before it was cancelled due to Team Rocket's interference. I only wished we saw more of Grotle VS Luxray before the obligatory plot distraction.

The dub's performance is at its ususl standards. Only a few *obligatory* pieces of music were kept. It was awesome, however, that the dub retained "Satoshi's theme" at the part where Grotle evolves. I could have sworn that they replaced it with dub music.

Since they were prominent this episode, Team Rocket and their dialogue could get a little bit annoying and hard to understand for the most part.

This time an earlier and shorter review than usual, but you see, I've got to go out tonight. I don't like the idea of going to that party but there's not much going on in my town usually, so I guess you've got to grab every opportunity...

Anyways, a great episode! I sure was thrilled by it!
Not only did we get an action-packed,exciting plot, we also had an evolution in Ash's team plus the impressive new attack Leaf Storm.
OK admittedly, it was a teensy bit exaggerated that apparently everybody can fly a rocket as easily as if it were a car. So actually I would have to complain about the flawed logic again, BUT this time it somehow didn't bother me. I mean, that's Team ROCKET! They just NEED a rocket more often. And the fact that Volkner built the tower could account for the question why he was able to fly that "Rocket-Tower" with relative ease.

AAAAND, don't forget HOW AWESOME Gible was!
GIBLE I LOVE YOU!
(not literally, you know hat I mean ;))

Grotle's evolution into Torterra (a Pokemon which I think was designed great btw) and Gible's heroic efforts saved my day.
See, Gible wasn't clumsy or funny at all. On the contrary, it was ready for action from the get-go and showed his sheer power once again
Gible Superstar! Who the f**k is Gliscor again?:naughty:

On a side note, I found that scene in which Brock and Flint were pedaling hilarious!Exhausted Brock being encouraged by Nurse Joy definitely was the highlight in terms of comedy! Amazing, what love can do ! :D

This is minor, but shouldn't it be SuNNyshore City? Everywhere I find this word, it's spelled with only one "n", but two "n" would make more sense if you ask me.

So to sum up my review: This was a great episode with almost nothing to complain about!

7 / 7.5 out of 10 points

I've made a habit out of watching a sub of a Rocket-centric episode before watching the dub and it was worth it this time. The TR-isms were back and more annoying than ever, and the whole "This feels good" gag was lost in translation as TPCi didn't do a play on "Blasting off Again".

Anyway, a decent episode regardless. I completely forgot Grotle evolved in this until after I started watching. I've got mixed feelings about Torterra - but it was still a nice plot point to the episode. I was surprised out of all the music not kept that Ash's Next Episode Preview music was kept during Grotle's evolution.

This is minor, but shouldn't it be SuNNyshore City? Everywhere I find this word, it's spelled with only one "n", but two "n" would make more sense if you ask me.

Well it is a city name, so they were likely going for pun on the name but didn't want it to look awkward. I mean sure Sunnyshore city makes sense but it kind of looks boring.

Anyway I guess I'm only allowed to say this: Loved Brock's reaction to being tired the second time. If you want to know why you'll have to ask me through VM or just watch it yourself. Absolutely hilarious.

And LOL at them keeping the music when Grotle evolves (I've watched the original scene a thousand times so I should know). I find it funny since that was just instrumental while Infernape's was vocal, and how the dub just changed it to an instrumental as opposed to making it equal. One thing that's always bugged me since Ash's Infernape's debut and Ash's Torterra's debut episodes (in the original), is how much more important focus Ash's Infernape got when it evolved. I mean it got an a vocal song for crying out loud. While Torterra really didn't get very much. Yes I understand that Infernape has story and it probably deserved a vocal song but still Torterra just felt so left out at the time. So it's funny how the dub equalized their importance (in evolution) by having the music just be instrumental on both Pokemon.

I give this episode a 7/10

Not as good as the last 2, but its an improvement. Im really diggin the Torterra voice and Gible's antics made this whole episode worth the while.

I usually seriously hate Brock, but he was quite funny in this episode. Especially when he claims that he's never been this tired before in his life.

Oh, you're not going to the Sinnoh League yet, Ash. Ah, TR, still delusional even when you just stole a flipping power plant. You know, I'm not even going to bother with all the implausible things here. Let's just go on. Aww, I thought Gible was going to...oh it is eating things, never mind. And the last of Ash's Sinnoh poke evos joins the dub. Wait...is that Ash's DP theme in the dub? I never thought I'd hear that. Pretty good ep.

Ash's Sinnoh theme has been kept in before you know. I think it was the Piplup/Everstone ep.

Volkner's awesome, Gible's awesome, Grotle evolving into Torterra's awesome. Is there such thing as too much awesome?!

Then I don't know how to pay attention, then. ^_^;;;

:p
Sorry if I sounded rude earlier.

Anyway for this ep. It was okay. It was good to see Torterra evolve though I am slightly disappointed that it never learned a ground type move in the process.

If only all pokémon evolved after getting hit by 2 of TR's pokémon.

-We get, after all, you did build the tower...

This episode really made me realize how sad it would be to see Brock go in "Best Wishes". Who cares if you hate his shtick, he's given a fine performance regardless.

If there's one thing that irks me, and has done so for a while, is how crucial they make TR to the plot sometimes. Often I wish a random earthquake or tsunami would suddenly happen and prevent Ash from getting his badge or swallow up the town. At least THAT would be more exciting than seeing TR steal something for the 10th Million time.

I actually enjoy when TR gets victories. A lot of times they aren't even doing much and get bolted.... I sometimes find myself cheering for them. BTW, even though levels really aren't too noticeable or mentioned in the anime, what levels would TR's Pokemon be?
I say Arbok about 65
Weezing maybe 57
Wobbufett level 55 (It technically never loses when it does fight)
Meowth level 30
Carnivine level 40
Mime Jr. Level 20
Cacnea level 50
Seviper level 55
Victrebell was actually pretty good. 60
Dustox level 49
Yanmega i say 45.
Lickitung probably 37ish
Shellder............ Level 15
Chimeco level 25
Weepinbell level 25
Am i forgetting anyone?

Why such high levels? Well, for one even though they mostly lose, these Pokemon are constantly battling and I bet Arbok holds the record for the most battles any Pokemon was in besides Pikachu. Also do not forget Jessie's mons are UBER as of late in contests. Especially Yanmega and Dustox. James' are used too.
My opinion.
Off topic anyways....... ~_~ I should make a thread bout' this later.

As for the episode I was #1 wondering how that thing was being piloted during the battle and two was hoping TR stole the tower. Wishful....useless thinking.

Haha, yeah, the thing is that in most shows/movies, we're used to rooting for the underdogs, and Team Rocket is most certainly that. I too tend to hope their plans come to fruition as they wish.

This episode also further supports my theory that the protagonists are actually super heroes- they were standing under a tower-sized rocket as it was blasting off and weren't vaporized, or even singed a little!

This is minor, but shouldn't it be SuNNyshore City? Everywhere I find this word, it's spelled with only one "n", but two "n" would make more sense if you ask me.

Space issues in the game.

The namespace only allows so many letters in a given name. Hence why Feraligatr is spelled that way rather then "Feralligator".

As for the actual episode. Yeah, I found the plot of this one kinda silly but it's too be expected. It's like they crammed one and a half episodes into a single one.

DAWN AND BROCK SHOULD HAVE BURNED!

Team Rocket was oddly competent in this episode, but that's not a bad thing (horrible dialogue though).

Flint was hilarious and Volkner was pretty cool. He had great lines. Though, how often is he going to say he built that tower?

Glad to see that our protagonists didn't get all shocked that Grotle evolved like they normally do.

But yeah, this was a nice episode. Though if this were a Kanto gym, Ash would have earned the badge for helping rescue that tower.
