....that was more embarrasing than the last competition, and especially with a good Pokemon like Yanmega.

Staravia seems to be good at holding the ring.

And of course, the wind starts up.

I really hope this isn't where advanced adventure is supposed to be.

That was an interesting battle.

I lliked how Paul was brutally honest.

I reeealy hope they didn't just let their Pokemon eat in front of everybody like that,jerks.

I like Paul's last comment.

This was a good episode.

- The name of the anime-only town in this episode is Squallville.
- "Lovely young people?"
- Piplup can't fly as it is penguin.
- Again you become an honorary citizen if you win and you win Pokemon food.
- The COTD with the Skarmory is named Taylor.
- Skarmory keeps using all of these random attacks to thwart Staravia, but the latter still manages to win the round.
- So the COTD with the Dragonite is Grovo? And as opposed to winning one competition in the original, they won four times.
- Grovo has an Australian accent. FINALLY! Some original BGM music and not crappy edited PUSA music.
- So Honchkrow used its ability in this episode? Super Luck- so it's not just skill.
- Here's the little kid Samurai named Stevwin. In all of the times that they kept the Pikachu and Pichu BGM with Barry's appearance in the show, they decided not to keep it this time.
- The battle between Ash and Paul begins- they finally decide to use some original BGM. This battle would be dull and boring without it. I spoke too soon... They used some dub BGM again...
- As expected, they kept some more dub music when Staraptor evolved. Its evolution, compared to the original, was dull.
- They still kept the "super effective" error in the original; Honchkrow, as dark-flying, would only receive normal damage.
- At least it ends with Advance Adventure!
- Mamoswine ate all of the Pokemon food. :D
- The end of the episode is surprisingly more epic than the majority of the episode.

As always, the one pet peeve I have with the dub is their (apparent) lack of using BGM, even the instrumental ones. Also, tracks that were used by the former dub were ignored in this dub. I wouldn't be affected so much if the dub music fit the situation. It made the battles in the episode felt boring. Everything else is good. So I'll give this a 8.2/10

-Awsome playing gym leader battle music
-This is probably the first time Paul doesn't relie on his pokemon

-I really wish James could have lasted longer with yanmega
-So Paul you're going to stare at Ash the entire commercial brake
-Ash you moron Aerial Ace can't be dodged
-So I guess when it evolved it healed itself
-Closed Combat isn't super effective if you're a FLYING type
-Awsome they played advanced adventure havn't heard that for quite a while

Brock actually mentioned Paul's Pokemon's LEVELS, so that must mean that levels do excist in the anime after all.

Forecaster you are not, James. Paul did a better job reading the winds. I bet Jessie would have fared better.

Good episode all around. Though, I'm surprised the mic guy still has a job. Comic relief = instant job security I guess.

For those talking about Pipulp being able to learn Aerial Ace, remember Diglett can too.

You say "Stevwin" and "Grovo", while Bulbapedia has "Steveland" and "Provo"... This is not just the matter of spelling, those are completely different names.

Who is right?

And it's not really an argument at this point anymore, is it? It's just fans trying to cling onto something that was mentioned in one episode for over twelve years. Pathetic.
 
I really really hate this episode. But, it's not PCI's fault, so I wont rant about it again.

The only thing PCI did wrong (aside from music that nearly put me to sleep when Staravia evolved) was Team Rocket. Did last week's episode even happen?
