Yay for seeing more of Mamoswine and Aggron lol.

Well, now that the forum finally works...

Random Aggron just appears like that lol.

Team Rocket had a randomly long diatribe about stealing the twerpette's Pokemon...lol

I like the motto. Not to mention the nice touching at the end.

Nice to see Yanmega again, not to mention it actually moving pretty fast and using Ancientpower.

I like how everyone sees the signal except Ash and Brock heh.

'Keep my nose and gloves clean' wtf?

OMG, Dawna actually remembers Brock's advice lol.

You know that pokeball could belong to anyone..

I thought Meowth said 'Well, I'm seeing shit lol'

Dawn, you are a horrible person lol. God forbid that they needed help and stay alive.

I really wish Bunary would stop wearing that ugly-ass vest.

I bet the Johto TR BGM is in place of this music in the original.

Nice to see the Goleom bot again lol.

Once again TR, stop with the run-on sentences during the blast-offs(and in general)...

"This whole mess' Mamoswine started obeying you, and you call it a mess lol. How uungrateful.

This was a slightly boring episode, but it was still alright.

Just saw the first half, up to the point where Mamoswine is injured by Aggron. Then saw the entire episode.

MORE dub music in battles (gets very annoying after a while). At least the episode itself wasn't overtaken by the dub music; rather it is half-half between the dub music and By Your Side- Hikari's Theme.

Not going to give a big episode summary or key details because people have already seen this episode in original format.
TO BE CONTINUED

You know, I would think Ash would be better able to handle an Aggron. Also, when Char was disobedient, at least it kicked butt when it wanted. And now we get our Charizard Chills scenario. Nice to see the Brock advice be readdressed, but no matter how much you try to convince us, Brock has little usefulness. Battling while riding a pokemon? Sounds dangerous, but awesome in its own way. Not too bad for a copy of one of the most well known eps in Pokemon.

This was Absolutly not filler, but it wasn't that bad. It was good to see Dawn actually remembering something Brock told her and putting it into use. Maybe there is hope for the gang should Brock ever leave?

How the Johto you got to the ridiculous conclusion that continuity + character development = filler?

I guess we have different ideas of what is filler? I didn't mean to make it sound like a bad thing, I happen to like filler this one included.

I think most of us agreed that filler = an ep where nothing important happens and you could skip without missing anything
This ep had character development and one wouldn't get how Mamo suddenly listen to Dawn if he wouldn't watch this ep first
So it's plot-related and not a filler

This episode is not filler in any sense of the word. Character development is never filler.

This episode is similar to the episode in which Charizard begins to listen to Ash. Was that filler? No, it wasn't.

Ok then, I'm sorry I thought it to be filler. I guess my defenition of filler was off, or I just didn't think before I typed. I'm a little tired this morning. Caffine is needed.

This episode wasn't filler because this is especially important later on in the series. Next episode isn't filler either.

As cool as it was to see that Dawn learned from Brock, it has to make me wonder if they will give Ash an episode like this. Something about the fact that they have been traveling for years and only recently has Brock shown them how to do this seems wierd for Ash.

And I knew this episode had to come eventually. Mamoswine was going through just like Charizard in the original series. I thought it was great.

I thought this episode was good.
-I liked TR's motto.
-What was with that Aggron? That thing was crazy!
-Nice to see Dawn using the advice she got from Brock.
-And Mamoswine is finally listening to Dawn!
7/10

Something that hasn't been mentioned yet, is that this is the last 4:3 episode. This episode will always be a little nostalgic to me because of that. (No, I'm not counting the clip show)

Anyway, I thought this was a really good episode. It was great to see Dawn dealing with problems on her own and remembering the advice she learned from Brock. She's certainly come a long way from when Pachirisu got sick.

It was also great how Piplup didn't try to take charge or anything, and the focus remained on Dawn and Mamoswine. But the other four were still very useful and it was sweet how they all wanted to stay out of their Pokeballs. It's just a shame this is the last time we'll see something like this from Dawn's team.

And because I don't give them enough credit, good job to PCI for not screwing up Team Rocket this week. The only bad thing was too much dub BGM. Though I know it couldn't be entirely helped what with Boku no Best Friend playing.

I have no idea whether they will incorperate the new 16:9 screen format. Chances are that they probably will, considering that Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's airs in this format.

As I couldn't find this episode on the internet, I actually had to fall back on the original, Japanese version (the last time that happened was when CN screwed up the broadcast of "The Keystone Pops"). Thus, I can't make a judgment or comment on the US version, but I'm sure that it was great as well. (I just can't get used to the Japanese voices, which somehow sound too shrill if you ask me)

Anyways, a great episode, this time with the focus on Dawn. I particularly liked when she made a bed for Mamoswine, using the branches of the tree and treated its wound with care and affection! That's what dinstinguishes great Pokemon-Trainers from lousy wannabe-trainers. A really cute moment also was when Dawn's Pokemon slept side by side using the branches as blanket.
These two scenes really moves me. Yes, even though I may seem to be a diamond in the rough, I can also be very soft, if the situation requires it.

Then, of course, we had the action-packed and hard scenes, for example when Dawn fell off that rock or the brutal clash between Mamoswine and Aggron. Yeah, that's Pokemon at its best and I hope we'll get to see lots of such scenes in the future.

But there's one thing I didn't quite get:
Soon after Dawn and her Pokemon had fallen off said rock, Ash and Brock were standing at exactly the same place, looking for her friend.
But as we're supposed to believe that Mamoswine could hardly move (in the episode you could see that it dragged itself only a few steps, if anything) it should have been possible for Ash and Brock to actually see Dawn as she couldn't obviously be far away. This was some kind of logical mistake if you ask me. I wonder what you think about it.

All in all, an awesome, but above all, a moving episode which deserves
7 out of 10 points

The episode was ok. I'd would of prefered for a reason Aggron kept attacking everyone. Mamoswine learned a hard lesson today, at least he starts to obey Dawn. Dawn was so motherly to Mamoswine(I found it cute) and her Pokemon were nice in the episode. I liked how Aggron ran away like a little chicken. A pretty nice developmet episode as well

I enjoyed this episode, though it's not going to be a big re-watcher for me, I don't think.

I thought it reasonably well-done and the idea of Dawn & her little entourage off on their own was a good one; and even though I saw the "Mamoswine gets hurt, Dawn takes care, Mamoswine 'reforms'" plotline coming three miles away, it was still good enough to keep my interest.

And I purely LOVE that they've followed up on Dawn and Ash learning first aid! I can't emphasize this enough, because I was afraid they wouldn't. And I could even tell that the unnamed plant Dawn used was an expy of aloe vera! Oh, yeah, real world herbal medicine FTW. :-D (A hobby of mine, btw; so I'm inordinately fond of seeing it done accurately in fiction - even if it's only with commonplace, no-brainer herbs like aloe ;-))

I loved that Dawn kept her head and made good decisions (for the most part; there were some plot holes in the script, though I'll overlook them for just now). The making-a-bed and camoflaging Mamoswine was quite clever, as was getting Mamoswine to walk to it (with help). But something was still missing...I enjoyed the episode, but I wasn't really...involved in it.

I guess I would have liked to see a moment where Dawn really felt the burden of the situation; I don't doubt that she was feeling it, but I just don't recall seeing it - so I never got a chance to connect with her on a gut level. Dawn never looked close to losing her cool, and I kinda think she should have – that we should have felt that her usual "No need to worry" was covering up for some profound worry indeed, this time.

(This seems to be a consistent problem with me toward Dawn in general...I have no idea if it's my issue, or the writers not doing something right with her...)

Mamoswine's reformation...I didn't "feel" this one quite, either. The emotional Complication->Resolution in "Charizard Chills," the obvious inspiration for this ep, was a very personal conflict: Charizard seemed to lack confidence, or trust, or respect for Ash, and showed it by very direct hostility; Ash's working so tirelessly to save him restored Charizard's faith in some way.

Mamoswine, in contrast, never seemed that hostile toward Dawn; it clearly still cared for her (the single pom-pom its head in that contest episode was worth the whole arc alone, lol). Mamoswine seemed more...bored and uninvolved than anything else. Now, boredom is a fine motivation, but having it solved with the same method as Charizard's problem didn't feel quite fitting to me, because the issues were so fundamentally different.

Possibly I'm being a little too critical. Perhaps Mamoswine's problem wasn't boredom, but overconfidence in its own ability – in which case, being temporarily helpless was a wake-up call, and its character change entirely appropriate. The thing is, if the emotional issues were made a little more clear, I'd know for certain.

I understand that people get tired of the usual "Aesop" plot, where everything is spelled out so you can't miss it, but I can't help thinking that was better than one so understated that you start to doubt it's actually there at all...

Overall: idea, good; execution, uneven (good in some ways, sloppy in others); it held my interest, even though I wasn't totally connecting with with the characters' plight. I just itch to rewrite it and bring out more of its potential :)rolleyes: at my own hubris). However, many bits were total win ("if she can hide that, she can hide anything!" LOL!) and the first aid followup was highly gratifying.

I'm putting this in a spoiler just in case, but I don't think it's really much of a spoiler.

Mamoswine's situation isn't resolved yet Shiny. This is just getting it to obey her. It still doesn't care for Contests much.

This episode also proves that Dawn still has Piplup's pokeball I thought she just lost it either that or it was a goof.

What? Why Dawn won't have its ball? even Ash probably keeps Pika's ball
Not to mention Pip is always going inside the ball before Contests for the seal effects
