Here is the Ping Pong episode. No need for a full episode synopsis since most of us have seen the episode and know what it is about.

- Here is some more "fake Japanese text," or whatever that was.
- How in the hell did Ambi create a flaming ball; wasn't fast enough for that?
- "AHH!!! THAT GUY IS O!" Ou keeps his name either as O or Ou.
- Pitter-pitter-pat-pat?! Annoying laughs...
- Meowth's got Gold Fever!
- Stupid Ash, picking up a fan...
- Jessie's alias during the competition is Jessalinlin.
- Meowth was fully badass with Fury Swipes.
- Farfetch'd trainer is named, if I heard correctly, Wilkinson?
- Scientist/Alakazam pair referred as Scientist Team.
- Marowak's trainer is Halverson?
- Meowth: "Sorry I ain't what I used to be." QFTW.
- B Block winner is Halverson (Gliscor trainer).
- Yeah, Dawn and Ambipom lost.
- Several Aipom/Ambipom flashbacks.
- Dawn gets rid of Ambipom.
- To Be Continued.

It's actually, "'Sorry' ain't what it used to be."

...Oh wait, O SNAP. We really are never going to see Ambipom again. He mentioned where his training center facility was (Vermilion), and if we don't gop back to Kanto, we're never going to see it again. Rule o' thumb.

So we have another episode were PUSA just put letters together and called them names.

-Nice jumping at the opening. Ash is overly flexible.....
-Same to Barry, I guess....
-They seem to be trying to hit each other.....
-The way Barry describes the rules with the little chibi of himself was funny.
-Great, now Dawn jumps off the doorstep.
-Opening theme.....
-Practice match!
-Pikachu is made of win.
-WTF they made the flaming ball look dramatic.....
-Okay, now we're gonna watch the matches.....
-Barry, you don't have to freak out about the ping-pong guy.
-WTF JAMES AND BROCK ARE SCARING ME.....
-Yeah Piplup I'd be embarresed too.
-What the heck will anyone want with golden ping pong balls?
-Lol Ash has a fan.
-Poor Ashy....I feel bad for him, he's practically shaking.....
-Okay, so Jessie can't use Meowth.....
-I'm really sick of everyone having coin toss.
-Meowth has failed......
-Yay Ashy's match!
-At least he stopped freaking out.....
-GOD he looks hot hitting a ping pong ball......^-^
-Aww, poor Ashy, hit in the head with a ping pong ball......
-The dude with the glasses in Dawn's match scares me....
-Wow, is everyone this hard to win against?
-How'd she miss that?
-WTF fireball ping pong again?
-COMMERCIALS......
-I really had a tough time deciding between watching a ping pong match and the Kirby final episode this morning.....NOT. I'll just watch the ending when this is over....saw most of the show already.....
-All these commercials are made of fail.....
-Respect the pouch. RESPECT IT.
-Yay we're back again....
-Crap, I think Ash lost according to the panel of records....
-Aww, Ashy lost.....*cries*
-Don't worry, Ashy, you didn't let anyone down! ^-^
-DANG CAT, CUTTING MY LEG OPEN WHILE IM WATCHING POKEMON!!!! Too lazy to go get a bandage....
-ANOTHER fireball?
-Can't wait to see Dawn vs. Barry, that'll be good.
-But Ash worked hard too!!!!!!
-Barry's expression is win.
-AWW, BARRY!!! WAI???
-Kanto background music again....
-Ash, you're one to talk, considering you couldn't relax when this started.
-Dawn looks like she's gonna have a heart attack trying to relax....
-Poor Dawn, breaking her paddle.....
-Aren't they allowed to give her a freaking NEW PADDLE???
-Why is Dawn crying? -_- over emotional.....
-She chooses NOW to get a new paddle?
-DANG COMMERCIALS!!! GAH!!!
-Oh wow, my leg sure is bleeding alot.....but I don't wanna miss ping pong...
-I also really have to pee, but that can wait too.
-And I'm starving, but that can also wait....because I luv Pokemon! ^-^
-.....Maybe a little too much considering I'm ignoring a cut open bleeding leg, hunger and a full bladder just to watch anime characters play ping pong....
-This is an old commercial.....
-Ouch, is my leg supposed to be stinging like that?
-Aww, look at all the blood, it's so cute.....XD something is wrong with me...
-CAN WE GO BACK TO THE SHOW BEFORE I BLEED TO DEATH ALREADY???
-THANK you.
-So did Dawn drop out or something?
-Dawn, he wasn't talking to you. lol.
-The song in the background sounds like it should be with Elfen Lied....
-Aww, poor Dawn...
-RUN KIDS RUUUUUUUUUUN!!!
-God, how much fun can Ambipom have with it's tails, a ping pong ball and a wall?
-Why're you asking him?
-Call me crazy, but I know this song from somewhere other than Pokemon......
-Dawn's sure got a big choice to make and Brock's not really helping....
-When did the dude get a bus?
-How did her voice seem so close when she was so far away?
-lol taking the hats.
-It makes me feel bad that Brock doesn't have a hat.....
-Aww, Pikachu looks cute there.
-So then Ambipom wants to spend the rest of it's life playing ping pong.
-OW MY LEG.
-OH GOD, VERMILLION CITY? Wonder when they're going back there......
-Waving out the window......
-OH WOW ASH LOOKS LIKE YUGI MUTO THERE FOR SOME REASON.
-The end. Good ep, 9/10.

Dag, flaming ping pong balls. Ouch, and he caught that. Did I just witness an implied Brock and James shipping? I feel like I'm watching one of those sports animes now, only without the outrageous opponents. Ash, you don't have to win at everything. The game healing sound. How fitting that we get to see all of Aipom/Ambipom's antics one last time... Did I miss something? How did their hats return to them? Too bad we have no reason to return to Kanto except for the Pallet reunion. This ep seemed lacking, the matches weren't too interesting. Mamoswine, you better pull through for me.

Chibi Barry and Empoleon. :D

I like a lot of the ping pong players' character designs.

At first I was like "Jessie's entering with Meowth? I'd imagine Seviper would be a better fit." Then I realized it was just TRio's silliness at hand. Hmm, and this after James losing in the first round of Orinteering (EDIT: PokéRinger, I mean.) ... what's with them lately? Well, anyway, I liked Jessie's reference to her using Aipom in the unofficail Contest.

A Gliscor? When Ash already has one? That's sort of strange.

Lol, the "ASH THAT'S A FAN"/"OH NO" moment was so random.

Eeek, Brock's and James's new friendship is so adorable. Especially how Brock remains unaware of it.

Dawn breaks her paddle (is that even possible?) and they're not going to supply her with a new one?

Um, did Barry dissappear or did I just miss his leaving? I was kind of distracted for a bit.

The twerps' searching for Ambipom consists entirely of... standing a few feet away from the Pokémon Center and yelling "Ambipom!" Good job, guys.

Ew, didn't care for the choice of music in Ambipom's farwell montage. I laughed at its stealing Ash's and Dawn's hats, though.

Sigh. Writers, are we forgetting Ambipom's being enamored with Contests? Her crush on Ash? Her being one of Dawn's best Pokémon? All she went through in order to find her calling, and now she's ditching that in order to go off with a bunch of strangers in order to pursue a goal she first came in contact the day before? What the hell. Lowest point of DP.

...Except those are all REAL names; yes, they are. Except "O", since the quotes seem to suggest an alias. And they used them in the CC.

BTW, Barry for the ultimate win, and Brocketshipping for the awesomecakes.

Ambipomb is a pretty active pokemon. First battles, NO! Now contests, NO! Now ping-pong! Maybe it will make up its mind? Anyway, I wasn't too sad to see it go, as it always kind of creeped me out (monkey-phobia?) Maybe Mamoswine will stand up and replace it?

I was surprised when I first found out that Ambipom was leaving. However, unlike others who are extremely pissed off about it, I'm not. I mean, yes, it would've been nice to have her stick around with the Contests and all. However, you also must remember that Ambipom had just discovered something new that she was enjoying. As well, she was being commended by a top player. Ambipom has already done a lot in this saga. I mean, she took part in three Gym battles (two with Ash, one with Dawn), four Contests (two of which resulted ultimately in a Dawn win), as well as being traded and evolving. That's a lot more focus than people are realizing.

As well, I see a big difference between this and the Ash/Primeape release episode, which I've seen people comparing this to. For one, Primeape won the competition it entered, even though it should have not done that well, given lack of experience and the opponents. Dawn and Ambipom got far, but they lost. Ambipom leaving is trying to fulfill potential that is seen within her. Primeape left because it was already the champion, and really couldn't stick around with Ash.

For me, I think that it was something that the writers could have avoided doing, but it's not something that I'm majorly upset about.

As for the episode itself, I found it quite entertaining. Of course, they did add much for dramatic effect (flaming ping pong balls and breaking paddles), but it was nothing too bad. There were a few amusing moments, such as Brock and James interactions and Ash grabbing a fan. However, this was about Dawn and Ambipom, as it should be. I find that it was a much better episode than people are giving it credit for.

So essentially, all of Ambipom's screentime from the end of Battle Frontier till now was completely pointless.

Sure, it was used in a few Gyms and won a Contest, but what the hell was the point?

I'd expect the writers to pull this crap on us back in the Kanto/Johto era when they had no clue what to do with the groups Pokemon, not now in Sinnoh in the shows 11th year.

The way from Kanto to Johto is taking a boat from Vermilion to Olivine (and they stick to the games more than before)
So actually, the fact they bothrered to state a location for Ambipom (they really didn't have to say where it'll be) and that they chose THIS city out of them all, may mean we will see it again... but I know we better not expect anything

...and I want closed captioned eps T_T it's always annoying when I read people mention it... it could help me a lot (if anyone knows if it's availble anywhere please tell me... though I'm pretty sure no one bothers to upload this sadly)

Heh, this was a pretty good episode.

I enjoyed watching the Pokemon Ping Pong matches. ^^

By the way, does anyone know who voiced O? And the announcer lady? I'm just curious, because they sounded familiar to me, especially the lady who announced all the ping pong matches.

Personally I found Aipom/Ambipom's role in the series disturbing. One of its major plot points was that it loved contests, then switches to ping pong instantly. Made no sense whatsoever. Just some stupid way to get rid of a character's pokemon.

I personally loved this episode, it's a nice change of pace. Barry made the episode, as always, as well as Brock and James's friendship moment. Ambipom leaving was incredibly stupid, but whatever, I never really cared for her much anyway.

The episode is about to begin!
-I hate this theme song. :-p
-That ping pong ball was on fire... O_O
-That guy's name is... O?
-Lol, James and Brock are sitting next to each other again.
-"I can't believe we never met before!"
-Ash sure is nervous.
-Meowth just sliced the ball! And they're out already! XD
-The ball is on fire again...
-Looks like Ash also lost in the first round.
-Why are all these balls on fire?!
-Wow, her paddle broke.
-Aww, looks like Dawn lost.
-The ending was great! :3
Good episode. 8/10.

Let's go over all the good points:

BARRY! :-D

Ash picking up a fan. lol

Ou keeps his name!

I liked Dawn's struggle and how she asked everyone for advice. It just felt like she's growing up a little, and I think she handled the whole situation quite well.

Ambi juggling everything at the end was funny.

That's it. What the writers were smoking with Amibipom, or what Junki Takegami's obsession is with the two most ignored character's of the show is, (I guess its sypposed to be funny, but surprise surprise, the writers don't know what the hell they're doing again) I don't know. I can't even blame Jessie on PCI this time. The whole episode is just a big old WTF. Nothing made sense. This is easily the worst DP episode yet. I pray nothing ever tops this.

His name is O?

Alakazam playing ping pong seems like cheating.

How does Ambipom keep setting the balls on fire?

"Quick! Make a robot!"

Is that Jason Griffith as O...u?

Ooh nice... Make a Wish.

Still seems like the dumbest excuse to have a Pokemon released ever. I can imagine how the board meeting went.

"Hey, we need to get Ambipom out of the show. What should we do?"
"I know! Let's have it play ping pong!"
"Well, that's about as good of an idea as anyone will come up with."

Btw, TPCI kept 8 pieces.

Haha, so true.

If Ambipom had to leave, they should have at least done something where it had to go with an experienced coordinator or something, or fell in love with another pokemon or whatever.

This just made no sense. Not only did it have nothing to do with its character, but there was no foreshadowing and it came out of nowhere.

Probably the biggest mistake of DP, next to that Darkrai Vs. Cresselia episode.
