What, no one cared? At all?

Looker's so shibby~

And the driver guy is the engineer. Who sounds like Dee Dunstan, but probably isn't.

I was about to make a thread for this episode, but I thought an admin or someone had already made one.
- 5 episodes; it's safe to say that all future episodes will be in widescreen.
- The group meets Looker.
- Boxed lunches, anybody?
- So the main pokemon on this train is an Ampharos?
- The train stops (why does Ash and co. always have these misfortunes?)
- Grotle and Mamoswine are the only two pokemon not sucked up. Anyone think that they might be counterparts?
- In the end, the two mascot characters, the COTD pokemon, and the rambunctious Happiny are involved in this episode's search and rescue.
- Ash, when will you finally use Staraptor for anything OTHER than finding someone?
- LOL at how the "strong" pokemon, including Pikachu, are unable to move the rock. Yet the newborn Happiny did it with ease.
- There are plans for Team Galactic to go to Lake Acuity, but it takes a while for them to finally do something while there?
- Maybe Team Rocket should make a bag impervious to any type of attacks the group might use?
- Sudowoodo, who did relatively nothing in this episode, learned a new attack?
- Pikachu, you should have used Volt Tackle on that boulder earlier.
- The train finally moves again to Lake Acuity.
- The most epic part of the episode. To Be Continued.

Trains. Reminds me of Movie 11. Looker bought too many dinners. :P It's been a long time, Ampharos. "You don't deserve these pokemon"? Harsh, Team Rocket. Woah, a COTD's pokemon actually kicks butt. Why didn't you Thunderpunch earlier? Oh no, not the penguin blindly leading again. Beedrill-esque Fearow chase, to classic anime music. A perfectly round boulder? I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Of course Happiny can get rid of it. It's nice to see an investigator that knows what they're doing. Sorry, anime, I just don't care about Sudo anymore. "Make sure you enjoy your youth"? What is that supposed to mean? Interesting ep.

Sudowoodo IS GAY.

Looker was cool, although I pictured him as a little less serious (goofy?) in the games. I like the direction the show is going with him.

Poor Piplup, he is always so proud, only to fail.

This episode was kinda boring. Yeah, it was great we finally met Looker, but the plot was pretty boring. At least Sudowodo finally learned a new attack and Piplup once again gets taken down a notch.

Team Rocket aside, I'm really not looking forward to the next two episodes.

Well, I missed the first half because I was still sleeping... xD
I loved the second half, though! It was pretty funny when they tried to move the boulder. That's not what I imagined Looker's voice to sound like...
I'll have to watch the first half later.

Looker's debut ep could have been better, but oh well.

Next week is going to be great, assuming they don't butcher the music.

The voice is fine, but I expected him to have a similar speech pattern to that in Platinum. Oh well. He's still great.

And Ampharos kicks butt!

My favorite part was when Happiny picked up the rock and tossed it around like any old rubber ball...with Piplup still on it!

looks like were getting close to the team galactic episodes seeing team glactic is transporting something to Lake Acuity and the upcoming epic battle with paul and ash.

I always enjoy Pokémon-only adventures, but the human parts of this episode were fairly boring. Plus Team Rocket shouldn't have shown up again after their first appearance. It seems like every time they don't need to show up, they show up. Every time they have a good reason to show up, they show up once more than they need to. Also, Looker sure is a lot more competent than he is in Platinum.

What?? Only one page so far for such an awesome episode?

What I expected to be a "filler" first, actually turned out to be a great episode which was definitely worth watching. I enjoyed it a lot.

Of course, half of the episode consisted of the good old "search and rescue" plot. This alone would have been a bit dull, so I'd agree with anyone who'd say that. (Though we can't deny either that the part when the Pokemon had to find their way back to their trainers certainly had some funny and entertaining elements as well). But fortunately, we also had the great and highly exciting Looker-investigates subplot, too.
Man, you may be laughing at me now, but heck, today's episode was nerve-racking and thrilling: The train stops right in the middle of the landscape for no obvious reason, it turns out that somebody manipulated the track switch and finally an abandoned track...mysterious, mysterious!!
And then the part when Looker investigated that old abandoned cave in that mountain. Truly nerve-racking!!:uhoh:
I know that so far, DP has proved us wrong with regard to many things, but I would never have expected such a plot line and above all, such a setting in Pokemon. This was at least as exciting and surprising as the appearance of the pure evil in the form of that little ghost-girl in "Ghoul Daze"!

The episode also reminded me of two famous movies: Firstly, "Under Siege 2" because of the motif of a train being stopped in the midst of the prairie and "Operation Broken Arrow" because of the hideout in an abandon cave in a mountain.

Did I mention yet that this subplot sure was thrilling? I guess I pointed it out more than often now ^^

But I mustn't forget to say that I was surprised and delighted to see how strong Pikachu's Volt Tackle was. Writers, THAT'S how the strongest attack of Ash very first Pokemon (and thus one of his strongest ones) should look like!
But tell me why I just can't get rid of the feeling that they will have forgotten about how to draw a decent attack after a few episodes again. :eh:

Ok, another important fact which I realized while watching the episode:
Right at the beginning when Dawn smiled because of Ash being so hyped up and said "No surprise there!", she sounded almost exactly like CYNTHIA!:crush: Especially the way she pronounced and intoned the "No" dispelled all doubts. As far as I know Cynthia has the same voice actress as Dawn, so that's no big deal, but nevertheless, it was soooo wonderful to be reminded of Her Majesty's voice:crush:

All in all, a great episode for great Saturday evening entertainment! Ok. I'd exaggerate if I said that it was Pokemon at its best, but today's episode at least showed the almost infinite and undreamed of potential of our favorite series!

7.5/ 8 out of 10 points!

Btw. one important question:

Has Looker reappeared in Japan since this episode? You see, I'm going to deviate from my habit of not watching Japanese episodes during the next two weeks. I'd like to watch the Galactic finale and therefore I need to know if Looker has played an important role again since then and if you should know about it in order to understand the ongoings in said finale.

Funnily enough, Looker is appearing in this week's episode. The very same week he makes his debut in the dub.

I've yet to watch this episode on CN Video or something like that. But I went ahead and checked Bulbapedia to see who voiced Looker. I was half expecting Dan Green to voice him for some reason...lol.

This episode was definitely NOT one of my favorite episodes. But, on the bright side, I am happy that they introduced Looker.

Come on guys...no more comments?
Didn't you like that episode at least a bit?

Liking a episode has nothing to do with how many comments a thread on a single forum gets. That said the thread just barely reached page 2, for goodness sake!

Anyway, on-topic, for being Looker's debut ep he didn't actually do very much. The sad part was his moments were the only thing interesting in the episode.-_- There was also constant shifting of focus between the Pokes and humans that it kinda became annoying. Still wasn't bad though.

Oh and Looker's voice really suits him for some reason. Glad it's not a Dan Green-type voice.

Just watched if finally....I think my favorite parts were the Looker parts, and when Happiny lifted that huge boulder. I almost laughed my butt off on that one, it was kinda cute.:awww:
