Review S12 EP46: The Needs of the Three!

I know... (scratches his head embarrasingly)

Well, I thought this episode was well over awesome. Considering the J's death thing and such.

But then again, why did nobody care when I did the DP150 thread?

I will never look at that lake the same again. J's death was pretty Dropped a Bridge on Him, though.
I'm pretty sure Charon was trying to rhyme for a bit, then decided not to. The anime has made me love him even more.
Cynthia has a phone/TV in her Jeep. That's just awesome.
Saturn is just full of snark. I wish they had used that sort of voice for Maxie *grumbles about having the Winstrates shoved up a nose*
Mars is such a fangirl. Jupiter does not approve.
The TRio actually gets some screentime?! No way! Unfortunately, they were overshadowed by the epic of Looker.
Actually I was watching this when my mother came in, saying "Watching Pokemon again? You're too old for this." Then she waited and said "Wait, is that a BOMB!?"

If I had had Internet then, I would have closed that one, too. There is absolutely no reason to make review threads so far in advance.

Anyway, it's sounding like they kept J's death scene. Not surprising.

This was another epic Galactic episode. Looks like J's gone for good, and I'm going to miss her if she is. She was a really good villian.

The way team Rocket looks up to Looker is pretty funny, and I like how they keep calling him "lunch box guy". All in all a good follow up to last week, and I know next week will be just as good!

Epic episode. I have to admit I was a little worried J's death would toned down somehow, but nope, all there in it's awesome glory with that great movie 10 music. :-D

I really loved this episode a lot. It's amazing how much they were able to cram into 30 minutes. And while I loved every second, what's really great is that Brock actually gets to do something! The twerp trio finally acts like a real trio instead of just the Ash and Dawn show.

I also loved how the other TRio and Looker team up. (And how the TRio seem to be huge fanboys/girl of him.) They really make a great comedic team. I neglected to mention this last week, but I love the "lunch box guy" nickname.

Can't wait for next week! Things only get better from here. :-D

I thought this ep was awesome, especially since I haven't seen Gary or Cynthia in a while. And J's death was tastefully done IMO.

Dear gosh, everyone is here. Wow, the gold beam can pierce a legendary's attack. They're certainly going down more easily than I would think, but they are using unfair tactics. And the legends get their vengeance. So ends Hunter J... Where did TR get those outfits? You're not fooling anyone talking about emotions, Cyrus. And the battle begins.

I think it's safe to say that all of the original music was kept except the title screen music.

I liked it. Once again, I like seeing Team Rocket actually doing something useful. At this point they make much better heroes than villains.

But what was really interesting was J. I know they didn't explicitly show it, but she's pretty much dead as disco. And I found that interesting that they killed off a character that didn't need to die. She was already on her way to never been seen again (at least it looked like it), but she still got hit with Future Sight. She could have been made to survive the crash, but no, she and her whole crew landed in the lake and drowned. In a kid-friendly never say die show, I found it shocking that they would cause an unnecessary death, rather than a heroic sacrifice or a villain's plan's crumbling around him/her that happened to end in his/her death. Not that I'm complaining. I thought it was pretty cool.

Pfft, I think time will tell about J. After all, Giovanni survived being blown up and having his HQ collapse in on him. Either way her henchmen are going to be skimmed off the lake for the next few months (and frankly I don't envy the chefs at the Seven Stars. Their "lake-fresh fish" will have to be completely cleaned, lest someone unearth a finger or something in their baked trout).

Sometimes I wish Pokemon was more like these episodes -- Generic do-gooders against the bad team. Or maybe they just need to sprinkle a bit more into the normal plot. Either way, the seeing of so many characters is by far the coolest part.

This.

Lol, Cyrus got pissed at his Commanders for starting to fight inside the HQ.:-p SATURN, YOU'RE GROUNDED FOR A MONTH!! Jupiter, when Cyrus gives you a death glare like that, it means "STFU, my reasoning totally trumps your arguement in every way possible, even if the twerps do pose a threat!!" The Commanders are his childrens, while Charon is the grandfather that they disrespect, like any stereotypical kid. It's one big happy, disfunctional family I tells ye!!

And now for my favorite "WTF!!?" expression:

The scene with Hunter J's ship going down, the water crashing through the glass (reminded me of a similar scene in Titanic), and then the explosion -- I can't imagine what J's final moments were like... unless she miraculously survived somehow.

Although, I think the reason for that is that he's been spending more time researching and less time battling.

Call me a nerd here, but I think the really interesting part was where Saturn was explaining the function of the Galactic Bomb. Completely different from the games fo sho.

Actually, its function seemed alot similar to the machine that Saturn used against Platinum's body guards in the Pokemon Adventures manga, which can send people/objects into another dimension, while the Galactic Bomb in the anime opens up a portal into another dimension.

So... from Saturn's explination, the lakes are essentially portals into the Pixies' dimension (which I'm assuming is the same as Dialga's and Palkia's dimension) and not your average lake...?
