Wow, a new season already. Can't wait for the new theme!!

Sorry for posting a little too early, but it's worth it! Besides, it's already June 5 (not to make that error I did for April 3).

So discuss what you guys think will happen in this new season (well, most of us all ready know, but I just want the theme and all music!!) of battles and stuff.

Expect good things to happen...

Again, sorry for posting too early, but for occasions like this, (I believe) it's necessary.

It's a joke from HG/SS where a kid wont stop calling you about is Rattata that he says is a top percentage Rattata

Oh yeah, Joey.

I want all of the music to be kept in the season! Even Ready Go! in DP163 and Saikou Everyday in DP179!!

Three words: I want nostalgia.

Yes, I want this new season of Pokemon to somehow remind me of the old seasons of the show (similar to how HG/SS reminds players of the original Gold and Silver games).

I mean, if they can bring fans back to the good old days with the games, why can't they do that with the anime as well? =P

Is it odd that the only thing I'm looking forward to is the new opening? I mean, the episode itself looks good, but the opening theme is so much more important to me.

Nah, that's what I'm looking forward to as well lol

The opening was ok, but not great. I thought it was great they had a male singing it, it has been some time since a male sung a Pokemon song. However, still not even 60 seconds long like most broadcast openings.

The OP is up on Youtube... I think they included all the important scenes of Saikou Everyday so that's good... nice to get a male singer again and about the song itself... I have to get used to it before I form any opinion

They didn't include the AzMeUx and Shaymin scene.

Well, at least they did keep Ash VS Paul, Ash VS legendaries, Ash's Pokémon, Dawn, Brock, Dawn's Pokémon, Dawn's rivals, TRio and the League scene with Ash's rivals and old Poké... I think these are more important than the legendary trio, but the trio are sure more important than random Groudon/Kyogre

I agree with Piplup on the scenes. Pretty good that so many scenes of the japanese opening were used.

The song on the other hand is terrible if you ask me. No real flow, way too slow, strange melody...a real letdown after the last one. I won't be happy about the German version I guess. ( And I am still pissed that the German entry won in the Eurovision songcontests...Looks like people have no taste in music anymore...)

Lyrics:

We Will Carry On
It's about you,
It's about me,
It's about hope,
It's about dreams,
It's about friends that work together
To claim their destiny
It's about reaching for the sky,
(Pokémon!)
Having the courage and willing to try!
It's about never giving up,
So hold your head up,
And we will carry on!
(Sinnoh League Victors!)
Pokémon!

Funny we have another "We Will..." opening.

Another gripe I have with all Pokemon openings is that they feel the need to announce the shows name. In the original or any anime they do not do that at all. Neither do they do it in Dragon Ball Z Kai, or any other anime with a dubbed opening that follows the original. Other dub openings that were created from scratch do not announce the show either and they do quite well.

Yeah, in Yu-Gi-Oh they did though, but that was the original. Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's and others do not do this either.

Well, Yugioh is a special case. You see, they cut sections from a 4 minute song and set it to scenes from the Japanese opening. Some cuts did say the show, others did not. And also, that was during a time when most companies dubbed openings to anime and thought they were for children. It is much different now, most anime either use the original or use an dubbed opening. I enjoy it more not to say the shows name, I can read the logo LOL

The opening is kinda meh, but it's nice to see the same spoilers from the JP opening here. There seems to be random BGM, too, then again, I don't watch the raw. Lol, Brock gets pwned by something other than Croagunk. I have nothing more to say about the ep itself, just run of the mill filler.
