So this is the episode in which Piplup abandons Ash and the others because of Gible’s Draco Meteor. It was great in the Japanese version of the episode, now I just hope the dub replaces none of the awesome music.

On another note, Random Trainer’s Rhyperior Time!!

The episode starts in one hour.

Overall it was a funny episode, I was just surprised at the lack of emotion in each ash and brock's voices after running away from ryperior. It sounded a lot funnier in the japanese version. It wasn't a big though I suppose.

Heh, I wasn't surprised by the lack of emotion. I always expect that in the D/P episodes.

Anyway, this episode was indeed funny. I felt sorry for Piplup though.

God, the amount of the pathetic dub music was really annoying. At least they kept the music when Piplup had its little Dawn dreams. And Marian was just so random at the beginning. What was the name of the Meteor Shower?

Look at the way he fantasizes about her. You can't deny his love. Piplup is so in love with Dawn, don't deny it! I'm so obviously not being sarcastic here, I'm so not making fun of anything. Blah blah shipping and so on....

Now that that's out of the way (I hope).... I've yet to see the dub version of this episode, but I'm looking forward to watching it. I am sure I will love it as much as the Japanese version, replaced background music or not.

It's amazing how much more enjoyable an episode can be when the Rockets are properly dubbed. For once, the only complaint is the music.

This episode had so many hilarious moments its hard to remember them all. The dream at the beginning, Piplup's fantasy's about what Dawn would say, Gible chewing on things in the background, the Rockets... Oohashi really knows how to write a hilarious episode. :-D

If not for Piplup learning Hydro Pump, this ep would be pure filler. And Gible's habit of hitting Piplup with the failed Draco Meteors is already old. I'm not sure I can give this ep more than 2/10.

See, this is why is takes Ash & co. so friggin' long to get anywhere.

Not really. Up until now Ash and Dawn didn't care that Gible kept hitting Piplup. That changes after this episode. It was awesome how Team Rocket had to teach the twerps a lesson for once. :-D

Ash & co. shouldn't have needed Team Rocket to teach them that lesson. One more reason the writers really annoy me.

Wait... Team Rocket were properly dubbed in an episode other than a non-emotional one which is mainly about them? That is very surprising.

Unless there were other times TR were dubbed right in non-emotional eps.

I loved the episode. It could easily qualify as one of my favorite episodes in the whole SERIES.

TR was properly dubbed, there were lots of funny moments, Piplup's fantasies were WIN, and Hydro Pump's animation was amazing. What else could I ask for?

But I have to admit that I liked it better in JP...

This question may sound silly, but did this episode air today in the US?
I'm asking because (I hope I'm allowed to say that. Otherwise I'll just delete it) I usually have two sources for the episodes but nowhere can I find it.
Also, there are so few reviews today and this kind of surprises me too.

Yeah it did. This episode was pretty good. Way to turn what could have been a boring filler into a really good episode. But seriously, where are all these kids getting these pokemon. First Tyranitar, then Feraligatr and now Ryperior.

Well it's one of those episodes that while pretty rad, it's pretty basic too. No glaring flaws to point out, or anything we've never seen before.

Still a very fun episode though.

Rhyperior looked flipping insane. I loved it.

Also, anyone notice how Ash was carrying Gible at the end? How was that even possible.

Piplup needs to work on imagining Dawn's eyes. lol.

If Gible launched a Draco Meteror in the league and it hit Piplup, I would be overjoyed.

Hydro Pump looks even weirder when it starts out as a bubble.

A decently great episode, 8.7/10

Yeah. I'd say the times when Rhyperior kept showing up were the funniest parts of the episode. Not to mention Piplup's disturbing Dawn fantasies.

Funny episode, though I felt it got slightly lagging.. maybe because nothing really interesting happened. Though I did like the episode and the interactions in it.

I really enjoyed this episode. Splendid work all around.

They really need to use Rhyperior more since he's got such a spendid sound.

It was a good episode. Good humor, and character development. Although I dont see why TR went through that much trouble rather than just snagging Piplup in the first place.
