It may not of aired yet, or it may of just aired, but what did you think of Episode #633, Flint Sparks the Fire?

1. You do know I don't know what the time is in America, right?
2. Why would I read that thread anyway?

You can't compare Britain's time to America's?

For you, 6:00 AM (US) = 11:00 AM (UK).

Anyway, this was a great episode. Flint sparked the fire in this episode and Volkner was... odd today.

They are so gay~

Wow, they really revved up the camp this episode. Or is it narm? Something.

The Proprietor is the Master.

Why exactly does Volkner have sandy blond hair in the anime? Then again, what's wrong with him in the anime? He seems different in terms of angst.

Volkner's voice..I should have guessed but I expected a more Riley-style voice.

Meh. Their HoYay is upped from the games however it's nothing you don't see in shonen when it comes to rivals.

I just noticed how Pikachu's ability never activates. In the games static activates easily.

Poacher's in the anime are people that 'steal' and sell Pokemon, right?

Volkner is all emo and :| about everything. Everything.

It is wonderful, along with the Ho Yay with Flint.

" it's not worth the time it takes to do it" That was a terrible line.

"water type have an advantage over fire types"

"That's because water types beat fire types"

Yes Brock we got that.....

Not too much to say about this one. All the Volkner/Flint stuff was really great, and it was interesting how the Poacher eventually became their friend. Shame the Rockets are back to normal, but I had a feeling last week was just a fluke.

-OH GOD YES! OUTSIDE ESCALATORS IN THE CITY!
-I like it when Dawn shows knowledge of gym leaders etc in Sinnoh
-Sinnoh league victuuuurs!
-Aha. Sunnyshore gym is based off gyms in Kanto then xD
-Urgh. Raichu. Go away.
-HAHA I'm loving Volkner from the word go!
-The bartender rules. He's my favourite character now.
-love at first sight... Chimchar have the ability to bring people together :p
-Ahhh the red hot flames of passion
-So Volkner's depression is due to being separated from his beloved..
-NO VOLKNER! Turning to drink is not the answer!
-Man, I want one of those clean-up robots!
-What a surprise. Buizel gets creamed.
-Did anyone else enjoy that Pikachu abuse as much as I did?
-I knew the bartender was the poacher
-Omg, that smile Flint gave Volkner! <3

So, I liked this episode. For one thing, its always nice to see gym leader backstory, and te introduction of Elite 4 members. Even better when the two are in love Its also prett obvious Ash isn't at the level to beat the Elite 4 yet. Emo Volkner is rather great, and my ignitionshippingsensors were tingling.
*cough* Volkner and Flint are like a grown up Ash and Paul! *cough*
Oh, yeah, and the bartender/poacher was awesome.

This voice is perfect for Volkner. I wonder if Ash is the only one to have won the Beacon Badge legitimately. Who knows. This is an ok ep. It's nice set up, but too bad the gym battle isn't really fought next. Oh well, I guess I make do with Torterra.

This episode was built on a premise established in the Diamond and Pearl games; Elite 4 Flint asking the player character if he can cheer up Volkner, who is bored with weakling challengers to defeat.

The anime takes it up a notch by having Ash battle Flint, that same member of the Elite 4, in an attempt for Ash's "spark" to ignite Volkner so he can finally see battles like he used to.

Ash's performance in the battle, against an Elite 4 member, was almost a completely sweep. Pikachu was the only pokemon that was able to stand its ground for more than a minute against Flint's Infernape. The purpose being? Ash and Pikachu fighting against their opponent, never giving up and still fired up, being similar to Volkner's situation when he fought a pokemon poacher as a kid.

The dub tackled this episode head-on. I see no big errors in terms of the screenplay. I would have been glad that they retained more of the music, but at least they kept three important themes.

I liked it, Lol when the badges came out in the box, :-( at Volkner :-) at bartender. :-D at end!

A good episode. The episode was essentially a remake of the events in DPPt, but better. 9/10.
