Elite Four Bertha has some abilities she wants to show us in today’s episode. We also get a little reminder that Gliscor left when Bertha owns it. Plus, an epic battle between Torterra and Hippowdon. All of that wrapped up in one whole package of awesome animation. Man, is this episode going to be awesome or what? Yes it is. And don’t forget Bertha’s driving madness. God, if the title was even a tad bit better… but I like it this way already. No need to fuss.

That title actually sounds like an awesome action spy thriller. But yeah, I'm really wanting to see the final Elite episode.

The episode is now? In the mid of the night in us? I'd say you opened the thread too early.

But it's a good ep, hope Hippodown gets a good voice.

No, people like to start the threads early to accommodate for people in other time zones or just to say they started the thread. I did that last week.

Hm, didn't think about that. I only knew about one part of the episode because I forgot about it since it aired in Japan. I was thinking about the driving sceen, and almost called it Driving Miss Bertha for no absolute reason. Anyhow, I'm excited to see how the dub handles this.

Why would the driving scene need "handled"?

Bertha sounds really... REALLY familiar...

I was talking about the entire episode.

They had some dub music, and not too much Japanese music was kept. Oh well, I guess every awesome episode has its goods and dubs (horrible joke here). I still loved this episode though. Even Bertha's during the battle. The strange thing was that Pokémon.com announced Roland's name as Ian. Strange.

This episode surpasses Keeping in Top Forme!, Piplup, Up and Away! and Playing the Performance Encore! as my favorite episode of the season.

LOL at Jessie's "How about a swift kick instead." Say what you will about the Team Rocket compared to Rocket Dan, but I don't think the original would be able pull that off so well.

Really good battle between Ash and Bertha. Though I'd rather it be some COTD with Torterra winning, but oh well.

Oh, Piplup. How does that swelled head stay on? A secret? Whatever you say. lol, I forgot the enhancements for TR's pokemon. Completed Elite 4 picture go! Enough with the 360 on Torterra. I think the advice from Bertha was translated well. As always, though, it means nothing, at least as far as we can see.

JESSIE: "Eat my pink dust"

I laughed at that part. But so far it's pretty good for a filler episode. Well, if you call it a filler.

EDIT: what? Team Rocket just happens to have a Gliscor attachment stuffed in their balloon?

I liked it, I thought Magby was gonna evolve while battling, rather than Team Rocket doing it. Nothing real funny about this episode, except for when Bertha said "I am not amused!" reminded me of Lolcats, (tank cat is not amused) Anyway, my final verdict is.....
EDIT: Enzap, Ash has a Gliscor, thats why.

4/5 This episode did it right for me, which it hasn't been doing recently.

But he hasn't had it for a long time now and it never used Guillotine.

As Charizardman pointed out, even if Ash doesn't have his Gliscor, he still owned one for at least 30 or so episodes. And on top of that Team Rocket saw Gliscor being given to McCann.

Ha ha. Piplup is always awesome in Oohashi episodes. :-D

"Why are you singing?" That's exactly what I'd like to know Roland...

Bertha is really awesome, though a bit rude.

Good job telling everyone her secret Brock! Bertha is gonna get you kicked off the show for this!

Ha. I love that armor Carnivine and Seviper have.

Aside from a bit too much dub music, this episode was ok. I was actually pretty bored the entire time. It felt like some random "Let's help a kid because TR is causing trouble" filler, except had an Elite 4 member tacked on to make it important. I'm so glad most DP episodes aren't like this.

Actually, you're only supposed to make a thread an hour at the earliest before the episode airs. There's no need to make one a few hours before it airs.

I don't watch the dub that much but I thought I'd give this episode a try. I actually quite enjoyed it. I think that Bertha was more interesting then Aaron and Lucian ever were and I thought it was quite cool that Torterra got to be used. I also liked the observation stuff as it shows that Ash can learn a lot from his superiors.

I liked the episode but it felt so short for me. Probably because 1/2 of it was spent on getting Roland's Magby back.

I also thought Magby would evolve after battling TR since that's what Roland wanted.

I like how Bertha's voice was intensified when the smoke was surrounding Hippowdon and Torterra. The animation was great during the battle, as well. I wish Ash would've commanded Torterra to use Rock Climb while Hippowdon was underground though.

And Piplup gets dissed yet again. Poor penguin.

They simply ruined the battle between Hippowdon and Torterra by replacing the background music from the Giratina movie with their own terrible and uninspiring music.

Japanese version with movie 11 music during the battle = I was on the edge of my seat.

English version: Almost fell asleep.

The difference was enormous. This is why you shouldn't watch the dub. =(

So good episode, Bertha is awesome. Don't know what else to say.

But the dub doesn't always remove background music that really impact a scene. The amount of original background music TPCI removes and the amount they keep varies from each episode

Do I do admit it if a background music that becomes noticeable to me, for example makes an awesome scene even more awesome is replaced in the dub I don't like it as it doesn't give out the same impact and feeling.
