BW35 - Where Did You Go, Audino?

Having got lost in dense fog, Ash and his friends encounter a wandering Audino. After noticing that something is wrong due to its lack of response, it walks away. Suddenly, the fog clears and Officer Jenny along with two others tells them that they are under arrest! Just why have Ash and his friends been arrested and what is up with the Audino they encountered earlier?

So I heard the kids were called Doyle and Christie. Pretty nice reference in my opinion!

Who's That Pokemon? *black circle* *The Ultimate Test puns ensue* Why would you use a pokemon to listen for the signal, when you don't know if others that can hear it won't also be entranced by it? I don't have much else to say other than Cilan's antics somehow never get old, and it's still neat to see a different kind of attack used by each Audino.

So the little weird girl is Christie (a reference to Agatha Christie) and the nerdy boy is Doyle (a reference to Arthur Conan Doyle.)

Clever.

EDIT: FFFFf- Meron, you beat me to it. D:

Audino about you but, I found this episode boring. :/

Dent should of did more stuff in here.

The stigma of the stereotypical "My Pokemon who's kinda similar to yours but not related and available in only one version of the game while yours is in the other version is way better than yours!" busts yet another episode that could've had potential. I will give the dub a nod for the cleverly-named kids, though.

"It's DETECTIVE TIME~!"
"It's time to be annoyed again..."

You're such a killjoy, Iris. As always.

TCPi jumped the chance of calling Doyle "Conan". :\ I'm also not a fan of how they cut out the Tower of Heaven music.

I swear Doyle and Christie's voices are familiar. Are they voice actors from FUNimation? A possible reference to the company that brought over Cased Closed/Detective Conan?

I really liked the Christie reference, considering I'm in the middle of reading a bunch of Agatha Christie books.

My biggest comment on this episode is the apparent complete dependence on the tracker devices. "Oh no our signals breaking up! We're going to lose the Audino! They're like ten feet in front of us! What are we going to do?!"

This episode basically made no sense whatsoever.

Dento didn't even get the proper focus. It was a dull and boring episode.

Well, I don't know about you guys, but I actually thought that it was an interesting and fun filler.....until finding out that it was yet another TRio scheme.

"Detective" Cilan was EPIC. Though I do agree that he didn't get the proper focus. I also thought that this was the episode that had the scene when Cilan looked out the blind, you know, the one in the Caption the Screencaps thread.

I can imagine Christie and Doyle as great rivals in the future. I have to admit, they were clever with he names. Coincidentally, we just read a Sherlock Holmes story for Literature class.

So it's pronounced (Go-thEE-ta)? I always thought that it was pronounced as (Go-th-i-ta).

Other that the Pokemon Center Audinos, how could they recognize all the others?

Overall, it was a pretty good filler episode.

Oh My GOD! Doyle sounds like Fuyuki Hinata from SGT Frog's English dub and Christie sounds like Shammy from Macross. Two actors from ADV Films (RIP) and FUNimation.

God forbid there's someone who's not amused with Dento's antics.

God forbid someone doesn't find Iris' downer of an attitude entertaining or endearing in the least. Especially when she does this all the time. God forbid someone dares to complain about it, because that's totally not what we do at all here.

Anyway, I'm beginning to formulate a personal theory that any episode that contains the element of CotDs bitching at each other over their Pokemon that are counterparts (either by evolution branching or version exclusivity) will ruin said episode no matter what else is going for it. Meaning not even Cilan can override the suckitude of this horrendously overdone subplot that made me sort of blank out in regards to the main plot. Then again, I did just wake up when it aired. And had the distraction of my mom talking to me...

This episode sure made me think about how much Audino seem to be used in Unova. From being nurse aides to being EXP pinatas, they sure are very helpful.

Anyway, this episode was kinda dull but not terrible, although Team Rocket's motives are still murky as ever... I really wish they would expand upon their designs rather then building everyone's expectations and then copping out at the last moment.

Wasn't it explained that Dr. Namba Zager wanted to use them to develop a new radar system?

A radar-detection system would've had more of an "evil" and nefarious (and criminal) feel.

I was only impressed at the end when all the Audino used different attacks--and by Cilan's subsequent "smorgasbord" comment.

The fog at the beginning was mysterious--it only served to hide/halt the introduction of the officer and brats so far as I know. (It was, relatively, unexplained.)

FUNimation doesn't even use the title Detective Conan. There's no way in hell TPCI would be able to get away with something like that.
