And thank god, Luke kept his name and Zorua kept her voice.

Was that said when he was in love with Zorua, if so, it's understandable since he was in a love trance and thought that it would be nice to say that. And there have been more pathetic lines before, so I think it's okay.

I like these episodes that show things that'd happen in our world like movie making occurring in the Pokemon world and shows how Pokemon can be a part of life outside of a Trainer.

IIRC that' not too different from what he originally said in the JP version.
 
The movie ep? Wow, we're here already? Wow, wordy title much? Well, at least it's like the JP title, right? :p Oh, this Zorua is female? I didn't know that. You connoisseur everything, Cilan. You know, I find it odd that the attacks of Cilan and Iris's pokemon can so easily overpower Pikachu. Well, Axew maybe. I'm excited for the tournament, too.

Pikachu was just using its Electro Ball and only Axew and Pansage's most powerful attacks were used to overpower that attack.
 
Argh, Luke's voice is waaaayyy too deep for his character! TCPi needs to learn that female voices are suitable for young boys. The only thing good about it is that is sounds similar to Billy West's Doug.

Eh, it's sounds fine and boyish enough to suit him. Though it's weird how most boys in Anime are dubbed with more male sounding voices in English. Personally, Leah Clark should've returned to voice Luke. Maybe Colleen Clinkenbeard who voices Gohan in Dragon Ball Z Kai could made a guest appearance.
 
Well, I guess that's true. The anime hasn't really established whether Electro Ball is more or less powerful than Thunderbolt.

Luke's voice was pretty deep in the original too. :U Plus I think his VA is a girl. I just can't figure out her last name quite yet (which is why I haven't added it to BP).
 
I think if 4kids was still dubbing pokemon they would have definitely edited zura's bra when he was transformed in this woman :p

Very solid episode, I dug the amateur film vibe. I really like the way they animated Zorua's transformations, too. My main takeaway though was that with each passing episode, Cilan is leaping to the top of my favorite-of-Ash's-companions list. He's eclipsed May and Max in my mind for sure, and maybe Dawn too. He's totally stolen the show two episodes in a row now. I really like the "connoisseur of everything" schtick, and his cockiness is always funny. If we can't have Brock around, we could do much worse than this guy.

Be thankful, if 4kids dubbed this episode they would have made Luke sound exactly like Richie. They re-use the same "little boy" voice for many characters, including Sammy in Movie 4.
