Because this shipping is made of win!
And I'm wondering if more people think so :sweatlol:.

Let's start off with a picture then. Already posted this one on Shipping Pics, but for the ones who haven't seen it:

Well you know what *I* like. Hahahaha.

You know, a few months ago I didn't even know who Eusine and Morty were, I never played Gold/Silver/Crystal. But then I saw your sig and I was like 'those guys totally should be together!'XD

Yaaaay, Sacredshipping fanart. :D I didn't know any even existed.

It's very hard to find *sniff*
That's why I'm trying to make some myself atm:D

Morty is the Ecruteak Gym Leader and a Ghost type specialist. In some canons he has limited psychic ability.

Eusine is the only trainer to have the class "Mysticalman", and he pursues Suicune, the embodiment of the North Wind. His characterization varies depending on the canon.

Most fans base it on the episode "For Ho-Oh the Bells Toll", which had the city of Ecruteak under assault by forest pokemon because one of the relics sacred to Ho-Oh had been stolen (and later broken 'cause JJ&M are butterfingers). But Suicune is closely connected to Ho-Oh and so Eusine showed up. He and Morty seem to have been quite close in the past, from the way Morty acts, but Eusine doesn't share Morty's sentimentality.
At one point, Ash mentions having met Suicune, and Eusine challenges him to a battle on the spot, forcing Morty to serve as judge and screaming at him when he protests (at one point looking as though he's going to slap Morty). Morty pouts and says that Eusine is unreasonable, but does it anyway (the battle is interrupted before it can begin). And at the end, Eusine just takes off again, and Morty's reaction basically shows this happens a lot.

It's a very strange thing to base a ship off, but Morty spends the episode acting like a jilted lover.

Compare Eusine's irrational behavior there with how he was in Legend of Thunder, when he told Kenta that getting angry never solves anything. Uhhuh.

Minaki is such a hypocrite :p He loves Matsuba really...

I absolutely loved the dynamic they both had in that episode x3 And Minaki's such a sexy bastard anyway... but I can give him up to Matsuba. Because they're obviously meant to be <3

I'm all for accepting this as canon...that already sailed, docked, and won't sail again. *nod* I'm from the school across the river, who think they did have something, then Eusine went /crazy/ and Suicune trumped everything, even Morty, anime-wise. *is no Special reader*

Because Morty does spend the whole episode being concerned and worried, and Eusine's all GTFOff! and brushing him aside once Ash mentions Suicune. If Eusine did love Morty, 8O he sure doesn't act like it now. Not with that attitude.

Minaki is just a maniac for Suicune. Obviously he values that pokemon over his life. I don't mind where this ship stands in relation to that though. Even if Minaki doesn't give a crap about Matsuba AT ALL and it's all totally unrequited (because we know at least that Matsu does lurve him x3) I'm happy!

Yeah, pretty much. And going by Morty's surprise, it was building for a long time but the overall result was pretty recent. Like, he's not surprised that Eusine keeps going on and on, but he flinches and pouts when Eusine screams at him.

i agree with luna tigre; this ship happened, but it isn't happening. judging by the way eusine treats morty, something probably went wrong while they were together and they just ended it. maybe eusine blew up over a tiny little thing, threw a fit and stormed off ;p

this ship is awesome, though. morty and eusine look good together, mainly because of their differences in personality.
still, maybe they were too different...like eusine eventually couldn't stand how morty was always so calm or morty became sick of eusine getting pissed all the time.

I actually feel that it had less to do with personality clashes and more to do with Minaki just randomly running off after Suicune. Minaki would have been a complete psycho, but because of the calm and patientness of Matsuba, he'd have totally put up with it ;3

Maybe it wasn't random. Come to think of it, we don't know squat about his reasons for hunting Suicune, or how he got to this point of obsession. It could easily have been a slow and inevitable transformation, as much as it could have come from left field and suddenly, Eusine doesn't leave so much as a note on the fridge when he's gone.

And I'd like to think Morty can put up with him to a point (he sure did in the episode), but there are/were some people who did think Eusine was an abusive type (not really me, not realistically; neglecting and oblivious and incredibly self-centered, hell yes, all-out-smacking around, nuwai) AND if he was, I'd like to think Morty would know well enough to not put up with him then.

And if they are still together, Eusine will probably never realize what sort of man he's with, and if they aren't, won't ever know what he's lost (and if he does, it could be too late and wouldn't that serve him right for being a douche?).

I think Eusine would be semi-abusive, but not physically. I think he yells at Morty a lot though.

Goddammit Eusine, take your damn meds. Kudo makes you take them and that's why you're so much calmer around him, right?

I agree!

*has nothing left to say now :(* Except that I also agree that Matsuba, whilst patient and loving, wouldn't put up with "abuse" (not that I see Minaki as abusive. Certainly, he's far to self centred to do it on purpose! Though I can imagine him losing his rag and screaming like a psycho...)

Part of me thinks Kudo is his live-in nurse.

Foaming at the mouth. Like a rabid squirrel.

Part of the problem with Eusine is his most prominent appearance in Ecruteak, which have imprinted a dominant personality trait over the lesser ones, including that of LoT (split personality; or the "good twin"), and so it's hard to escape from his...well...overbearing weight of self-importance. And so any adopted traits from the other mediums without the Tolls!personality is immediately pegged with OOC, and the fact you'd have to disclaim "based on Eusine in whatever" is ridiculous, and tiring.

And to think of Eusine even as a decent person is...like, just as BJ implied: some incurred reason has to be given, whether drugs, mental disorder, or whathaveyou (possessed, sick/illness, his daddy beat it into him to treat his women like his slaves [happens on Maury all the time~] but he can change, something).

Otherwise, we're mostly grounded that Eusine is the world's biggest assholedouchebagnutter and is impervious to all those around him not side-tracking him to his Cause. *smacks him with a cluebat*

So on that note, do we have insight to their relationship in Special or Crystal? *anything we can add to the sadly lacking Sacredshipping article?* Because I don't read Special, I'm not about to risk my computer to Mangafox or that other one-- oh, Onemanga!-- because omg, spyware and virus galore, and I never bothered with Crystal.
