The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that actor Samuel L. Jackson is to reprise his fan-favorite role of Nick Fury in as many as nine films for Marvel Studios, including “Iron Man 2,” “Thor,” “Captain America,” “The Avengers” and whatever sequels those films generate.

The news of this unprecedented deal comes just weeks after Jackson appeared to be unhappy with the status of negotiations with Marvel. Obviously, the conflict has been resolved.

THR also indicated that a “S.H.I.E.L.D.” film with Jackson as the top-billed star is also in development.

All I can say is...wow.
 
After we saw the end of Iron man, my friend complained, "I'm sorry, you can't have Sam L. Jackson play Nick Fury. There's only so much awesome you can fit into one guy!"

Yeah. Agreed.
 
Nice to know that he'll be playing Nick Fury in future Marvel movies the way it should be.
 
Yeah, wasn't there controversy that he might not be returning?

Definitely glad to see he will. At this point, after the Ultimate series and Iron Man, I can't see anyone else playing Fury.

There was a rumor that Marvel low-balled him (was also a rumor that they only offered Rourke $250,000 to do Iron Man 2. Possibly why he's no longer rumored to be in the sequel. Ironically...the frontrunner in his role is a wrestler) and so he turned them down. If it was true, it's obvious that they saw the error of their ways and made him a ridiculously good offer to compensate. Which is what they needed to do.
 
i have had with these motherf*cking cameos in these motherf*cking superhero movies!
