I want to start to build up a Sandstorm team. I all ready have choosen Three Pokemon and i'm hoping for ideas to fill the last three gaps... I'm All ready using Hippowdon (For Sandstorm ability) Dugtiro (Ups-Speed) and Swampert.
I don't want Tyranrtar because thats expected and i'm thinking of brozong with trick room but again predictable any ideas guys?

What about Empoleon? It's not the same type, and it can stand through the sandstorm.

Ok What moves? Aqua jet maybe? i have a water/ground and it's shiney so i wanna use it :) I might try cacturn, that gets sand veil (Ups Speed) and thats Dark/Ground i think. (might be Dark/Grass???)

you can get a garchomp, it has sand veil and can learn crunch, also a flygon can work in your sandstorm team

Sand Veil doesn't do what you think it does.. it raises evasion.

You should have something of a different type with leftovers. Like a bulky Gyrados or a blissey.

Garchomp is also an uber, so some people will get pissed if you use it. I really shouldn't talk, though, since I use it. :p In any case, try Registeel. It's one of my favorites. Try the OU Tank set on Smogon, here. It can easily survive Earthquake or Fire Blast, given the right EVs, and then Explode to neutralize the threat. Basically, if it seems the opposing Pokémon would likely be able to 2HKO Registeel, use Explosion. If not, Stealth Rock and then hit with Earthquake or Ice Punch. It's surprisingly good.

You can also try messing with your opponent's head. Include a Mamoswine, who's Ground/Ice. When your opponent's detect your team strategy (or when all else fails), send out a snowstorm with Hail.

you can also use regirock for a physical wall having rest w/ leppa berry 252 on defence 252 on hp and rest on special defence

Cheers Guys :) Most of the Poke'mon you've all suggested i have so i put it together give it ago and let you all know how it goes. :)

Rock is always my first consideration for a team relying on sandstorms. They get a boost in Special Defense, which is always good for them.

Otherwise, holy jeez yes go Mamoswine.

Wait, sorry if it's a last minute suggestion, but try a Rhyperior. He has Rock Solid, so super effective attacks do less damage, and he would be a massive tank with Sandstorm. Avalanche would be a good move with curse, that way he could tank, and would get Avalanche's boost from going second.

but hes real slow. and has really low special defence

you can also use tyranitar, in case your hippowdon dies and someone changes the weather. And perhaps a shuckle to toxic all your enemies?

I Think You Should Try Putting In A Porygon Or Any Other Pokemon With Trickroom.

Some great Sandstorm team Pokémon are:

  1. Garchomp
  2. Empoleon
  3. Bronzon
That is what I would use in the team. Bronzong works great because in the Sandstorm, the Pokémon immune to it will have their special defense increased. And Empoleon is great because it can be a very effective special or physical sweeper due to the typing.
