Just curious. IMO, Lucky Stars isn't really that interesting. Just really moe. Also, WAAAAAAAAY to much loli. Seriously! It was creepy... o.o;

It's Lucky Star. Not Stars.

And also, I enjoy both of them.

...those aren't the only "school-girls" anime out there...

And nonetheless, Lucky Star is based on inside joke/otaku/Seinfeld-esque humor while Azumanga Daioh is purely random humor in which anyone in the general public can understand it.

I liked both of them. Azumanga Daioh formally got me into anime and is an all around amusing show whereas Lucky Star, though I never did finish it, gave me a good chuckle in its otaku humour.

Azumanga Daioh > Lucky Star. The problem with the latter is that you really need to know a lot of obscure stuff than only real otakus from Japan would know, so you miss out a lot of jokes and references.

But besides that, Azumanga's characters are by far more interesting and lovable thank Lucky Star's.

I watched Lucky Star, and it was crap; in fact, it's worse than Diebuster. So my vote goes to Azumanga Daioh.

azumanga daioh is adorable!!
the drawing style is so cute!

Lucky star by far. I mean, I really like the art style, and seeing the most bizarre things you've talked about in anime is awesome. I have a friend who is exactly like Konata, in terms of being an online anime freak, and even actually talked about how do you eat a croissant (ok, in LS is a chocolate cornet, but is the same concept) o_O

The problem with Lucky Star is that to understand any of it you really need to be in that otaku world. For example it has many Haruhi Suzumiya references, as well as to several memes and stuff. It's basically an anime meant for the people who arleady like it, aka: lifeless otakus XD

Both of them are good in their own areas and therefore it's tough to compare them

Lucky Star, as said above, is a great anime for the otaku and it has a very bright look (compared to Azumanga Daioh). I found Konata a lot more like me than Osaka was. In fact, maybe I'm a cross between both girls. The opening is cute, and the characters throughout the show are cute. However, one can get an overdosage of chibi from that show.

Azumanga Daioh is unique and easy to watch for the average person. There aren't many anime references to get lost by and everyone just seems normal. In fact the animation style (talking about the art style here) is very unique. The characters dont really look like the stereotypical anime because their faces are a lot rounder and ... wel you'd know the art style anywhere by first sight. However, this anime aint the best for otakus because it's kind of boring in a way. But it's very unique.

Also, the author of Azumanga Daioh must have an obsession with animals like cats, to the point where it just looks weird.

Both win but I prefer Lucky Star. I do like Azumanga Daioh very much because I can remove them from their natural Japanese habitat and do funny stories with them like Azumanga in America or Azumanga Daioh African Safari or even Azumanga Medieval or for crossovers Pokemanga Daioh.
