One of the best realized shows ever is "The X-Files," according to director Kevin Smith. I loved watching it and I'm glad to see that decent science fiction is now on all the major networks and not just relegated to the Sci-Fi Channel. I'm still mad at them for cancelling Farscape.

Anyone have any favorites, not counting the numerous iterations of Star Trek? I'm deeply into Lost, which has excellent writing with only a few plot holes here and there, intriguing characters, and its own mythology. I saw the pilot of Invasion, which is set in Florida, and it looks pretty interesting. Then there's Surface, ostensibly about aquatic monsters, and Threshold.

I've been told that the SFC's version of Battlestar Galactica is great, but I've only seen a couple of episodes. Any other favorites out there, or great shows that got cancelled but that you wish were still on?

I've been addicted to Stargate since it first premiered on Showtime. And Stargate: Atlantis has only fueled my addiction. And now that Sci-Fi's showing Firefly, I've gotten addicted to that. Of course whenever I find a show I truly love it ends up being too late.

I also watched...what was it? Lone Gunmen? Whatever that X-Files spinoff was (never watched X-Files, though). It was pretty good.

But my old favorite (before Firefly): SEAQUEST. God, was I addicted to that as a kid. Just...great stuff.

Honestly, though...there's never really been any GREAT non-cartoon sci-fi on television (except Firefly, but that really downplays the sci-fi side). It either looks cheesy, or gets repetitive quick. Honestly, I only watch Stargate nowadays because I've been through eight seasons, and stopping now is just pointless.

I watched Lone Gunmen, too. Millenium was a little too dark for me. And I loved SeaQuest DSV! I have two novels about the show that I found at a used bookstore. If that show came out on DVD, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Star Trek is my favorite(i'm still mad that they cancelled Enterprise), i'm planning to make a crossover fanfic called Star Trek: Pokemon Fleet(i'm still in the early stages you know).

Babylon 5 was the best science fiction show ever. The characters were believe as was the technology. The Plot was unprecedented in the genre. But to together with the most advance CGI technology money could buy. It was a masterpiece that I don't think will ever be topped.

Threshold is an awesome and very creepy show. If you like distubing, freaky sci-fi, this is the show for you.

I watched part of Threshold last week. It was very X-Philish in its look and plot line. Am I the only person who noticed Data (Brent Spiner) as a member of the cast?

I've heard people say they loved DS9. But I still wonder why Enterprise didn't do as well. They had a good storyline to work with; what went wrong?

I seriously have no clue. I loved Enterprise, and season 4 was really pulling the show along. Some people say it's because it didn't have a good story or character development, others say it's because of the writers, and others say it's because Trek needs a break, that with TNG starting in 1987 and Trek coming non-stop ever since that it needs a while to cool off and savor. I don't agree with any of it. I became a Trekker not too long ago and I want Trek now! I've seen almost all of TNG and all of DS9, and I completely finished DS9 a few days ago and I'm empty inside. I've seen about 4 episodes of Voyager, and I'll always be comparing it to DS9, so I don't know if it's the right way to go. Whoo, went a bit off there...

Voyager was pretty good, but Enterprise didn't seem to--I don't know if this is right phrase or not--remain faithful to the franchise. The show had so much potential but squandered it. Trek in and of itself has limitless possibilities, but maybe it is time for a rest, or just get different creative geniuses in the producer's role(s).

Well, the very little of Trek I've seen past TNG, I did not like very much. I used to like a show called Sliders, about a group of people that end up hopping through all sorts of alternate versions of Earth in search of a way back to their own. I also saw a series called Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World. The only other one I can think of is The Pretender, about a genius that can assume any lifestyle that he wants, and is on the run from an organization that wants to use his abilities to cause death and destruction.

Sliders was pretty good. I never got into Pretender, but it had a pretty decent fanbase.

The Lost World was great. I really loved that show.

I don't know if this is sci-fi, but I absolutely LOVED Xena!

Xena and Hercules are wonderful B-grade sci-fi shows. I loved watching them.
