Good old 001 is today's Featured Article over at Wiki (and yes, with the vandalstorm you'd expect).

Given that the second, third, fourth, and fifth link in the "external links" section are ALL to Bulbapedia, might well be a good thing for BMG (or we might get lots of vandals)

Congratulations indeed. To not merely be approved as Wikipedia featured article but to also become the featured article of the day... it is not easy. Even when someone thinks an article is ready to be featured, a dozen more people will point out flaws and shortcomings. In the case of Bulbasaur's previous nomination, that included lack of references. In the course of discussion, the issue of the reliability of Bulbapedia as a source came up. I am not pleased, but really cannot be offended with the assessment that it, being a wiki, like Wikipedia, is not entirely reliable.

Nice going! Often the front page is reserved for related content to real world
media and popular events, but never in my wildest imagination have I thought
that Pokemon would receive any recognition by Wiki's home page, let alone good
old Bulbasaur.

I'm glad to see my favorite up there!

The vandalism has started, Lucario's page has a picture of a penis on it.

EDIT: it seems most D/P Pokemon pages do.

It's not about which is the main Pokémon. It's about which article is a shining example of Wikipedia's quality and the group working on Pokémon articles decided to go with Bulbasur as the leader in that. I've seen a little of what it took to get Bulbasaur there and it took a lot of dedication to get from Pokémon articles often being put up for deletion to today's success.

Go Wikipedia!

Awesome. Go Bulba *does a dance*. TO get the featured article for the day is no tht easiest thing in the world.

Congradulations Bulbasaur.

Isn't that sort of hypocritical? ;x

(Late reply but this didn't occur to me until recently)

I took a screenshot also
btw, it's not the first time something unrelated to real life has been put up as the featured article. Just a few days ago, Final Fantasy had one too but I forgot to take a screenshot (then again I could care less about that series)
All I need is a featured article on Clair, Misty or Cassidy and I'm good to go!

Well, no. You can't refer to yourself when you're trying to prove a statement. Besides, all encyclopaediae, including the venerable Britannica, are [wp]tertiary sources[/wp] - you tradeoff domain specialisation and direct research for comprehensiveness.
