Probably one of the closest in stats in the category of infamily evoluton, Scyther and Scizor compete very close against each other.

Advantage:

Scyther is one of the original pokemon introduced when pokemon was released. Although it has a huge rock weakness, it is quite faster than a Scizor would perhaps be. The movepool is a little light, but it is a great offensive pokemon.

Disadvantage:

Scythers weaknesses include Ice, Rock, Fire, Flying and Electric. 5 major weaknesses. The movepool is very light, they are not the best on the defensive side, and overall, are slightly above average.

Advantage:

Scizor are the favored pokemon in the Standard OU metagame. Bullet Punching and Swords Dancing can be a bit tough to deal with. This pokemon has a wide movepool that contains X-Scissor, Iron Head, Fury Cutter, Bullet Punch and X amount more. Scizor's were considered a bit scary and rebellious over the years that it has existed. It has always has a brother (Scyther) to compete with.

Disadvantage:

Speed. Scizor's are not typically fast, considering it is a mantis covered in thick iron (I believe?). If you come across a fire type with this pokemon, your toast.



So, which one shall it be? The slow but heaving hitting Scizor, or the Fast but defensively prone Scyther? Your vote. Discuss -_-:banana:

I always liked Scizor.
But WHY must it be a trade-evolve one?! >:[

Oh and he's frikin METAL versus giant bug man, of Course he is better!!

Scizor has the same base stat total as Scyther, but its distribution is superior, and it works incredibly well with its moveset, ability and typing; all the while, Scizor boasts an awesome design.

Scizor blows Scyther out of the water.

Scizor has an awesome design whereas scyther's is kinda dull.

Scizor. I used one in my old HG team, and I know how much Technician-boosted Bullet Punches hurt.

Scizor is much better in terms of typing, stab moves, attack, and usage.

I still prefer Scyther, as it looks cooler. That really is the only reason sadly.

Scizor, he has a cool design, good set of movepools and he is such a good sweeper with bullet punch. Syther is ok but its not fun using him.

Sadly, I'm going to have to agree with the majority here and choose Scizor. That thing is just too much of a beast. Choice Banded/Swords Dance, STAB, Technician boosted Bullet Punch kills everything that doesn't resist it and some things that do.

Scyther was one of my favorite Pokemon back in Gen I, but it just got eclipsed by Scizor in every way.

I like Scyther more but I'm not a big fan of either. Especially since Scyther got an evolution while Pinsir didn't.

I chose Scizor, as Scyther is just not a Pokemon for me. Even though I detested of Scizor's dominant strength thanks to Technician-boosted STAB Bullet Punches, I still had to respect its super strength. Luckily he doesn't get Earthquake, though.

Scizor is cooler and stronger. That's why Scyther evolves into it.

However, I put Scizor for obvious reasons.

Yes, but they have identical base stat totals, just spread out in different ways.

I like speed, so I picked Scyther.

I actually prefer Scizor, because I always liked that sleek red armor. It's really cool to me.

Scizor would also win in a battle, obviously. A Technician Bullet Punch, and Scyther's dead. And if it has a Focus Sash, it'll just die to the next one, as it can't possibly one-hit Scizor without a critical hit.

Scizor looks great and it's obviously stronger, but I still prefer Scyther. Sue me.

(P.S. Is it really fair to pit these two against each other? They're in the same line.)

Scizor. Bad speed, but with Bullet Punch and Technician, Its a great sweeper and scout

I dont know why we're pitting evos against each other but I like Scyther because he's got a cool battle cry plus scythes instead of hands!
